  1. The leading cause of death for children and young people in the US rears its ugly and evil head again. Multiple deaths. RIP
  2. Ridiculous questions, was Hitler nice to children..................1.5 million were murdered in the Holocaust. Just because it refuses to give positive attributes on Hitler does not make it woke.
  3. Is it not better than Marjorie Taylor Greene ranting to millions that the democrats are a "party of pedophiles" or Tucker Carlson referring to the moronic dems. After all they have millions of followers who then parrot their views. Perhaps you should take a little of your own advice and offer a reasoned on topic debate rather than make claims that others fail to do that.
  4. I found the topic interesting, certainly contained information that I was unaware of and have learnt from.
  5. Agree 100%. Of course the NRA and its loons will always try and distract from that fact. I prefer the opinions of real professionals. "That’s why an explanation of the difference between an AR-15 and military-style firearms from retired Major General Paul Eaton has gone viral. Major General Eaton was the commander in charge of training Iraqi soldiers during Operation Iraqi Freedom, so he definitely knows what he’s talking about when it comes to weaponry." https://www.upworthy.com/military-general-explains-ar15-weapon-of-war-rp2 Full twitter thread in the link. https://twitter.com/PaulDEaton52/status/1532492803271544833 & here's a legal court decision: "the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, came down squarely one side of this debate, with big implications for how states regulate assault weapons. In a 10-4 decision, the federal court upheld Maryland’s 2013 assault weapons ban, finding that guns like the AR-15 are weapons of war, and thus American civilians don’t have an unfettered right to buy and own them under the Second Amendment." https://www.thetrace.org/2017/02/assault-rifles-ban-ar-15-weapon-of-war/
  6. Its not only the bump stock problem, the AR-15 ammo and its velocity is responsible for far more damaging wounds to a persons body leading to higher death rates when its used.
  7. While a standard AR-15 is semi, bump stocks are not banned and used in some mass murder tragedies such as the Las Vegas Strip. "The gunman, Steven Paddock, brought ammunition and an arsenal of 12 semi-automatic AR-15-style rifles that he converted with “bump stocks” to fire about as quickly as fully automatic weapons." https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-guns-lawsuit-idUSKCN1TY2GF
  8. Nothing like setting up your 1 year old granddaughter with her first guns. This madness needs to stop. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says 1-year-old granddaughter ‘already has’ shotgun, rifle South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem raised eyebrows Friday when she said that her granddaughter, who is just a year old, already has a shotgun and a rifle. Speaking at the annual National Rifle Association convention in Indianapolis, the conservative firebrand told the crowd that her granddaughter, “Little Miss Addie” is already “set up” for her future with the weapons — and a pony. https://nypost.com/2023/04/14/kristi-noem-says-1-year-old-granddaughter-already-has-shotgun-rifle/
  9. Sounds to me like its nothing to do with pro life/pro abortion, but pro votes for Trump. A play on women's rights for politics no matter what they finally end up with.
  10. Isn't she the lucky one, not being one of the unfortunate 85% who during having a natural childbirth suffer from either a tear or need a episiotomy cut to make the opening wider. Then in the US there's the other 50,000 a year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — endure dangerous and even life-threatening complications that often leave them wounded, weakened, traumatized.
  11. Desperation, anything to try and keep Pence from testifying. Former Vice President Mike Pence won't appeal a ruling requiring him to testify before a grand jury as a part of the special counsel investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021 assault on the Capitol, a Pence aide confirmed Wednesday. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pence-wont-appeal-over-subpoena-for-his-testimony/
  12. This was just before the new 6 week ban came into effect and still effects those women carrying a pregnancy after the 15 week cut of for abortions that endanger the mother. Two friends were denied care after Florida banned abortion. One almost died. The medical exceptions to protect the life of the mother that are included in abortion bans are often described in vague language that does not appear to cover pre-viability PPROM, doctors said. That’s because the risks of the condition are often less clear-cut than other medical emergencies, such as an ectopic pregnancy, in which a fertilized egg grows outside of the uterus, dooming the fetus and posing an immediate danger to the mother’s life. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/04/10/pprom-florida-abortion-ban/
  13. You do know that the poll was of Florida residents state wide of both parties........... Here's the results again: "75% of 1,452 respondents said they either somewhat or strongly opposed the six-week ban. That included 61% of Republicans." https://www.unf.edu/coas/porl/_files/polls/statewide/certified.rf.UNF-Mar-Statewide-2023.pdf
  14. I was replying to this post not any other and it was not an attack, it was clearly an example of the ridiculous notion that women are expected to take all the precautions and men just blame them if they don't. Got it?
  15. Taking away women's rights and also blaming them for any consequences if they don't follow every known method to avoid an unwanted pregnancy in other words right? How about taking it to the ultimate. After all, women cannot get pregnant in normal circumstances without a very willing man. How about the man take some responsibility. Ensure he doubles up on condoms, heck why not ensure he checks that the woman is taking adequate prevention measures. After the act that same man then needs to ensure that a pregnancy test was carried out within the 6 week period, you know, just in case the period is late or irregular. Then perhaps he should be the one who has obtained the abortion pill so he can hand a couple over to the woman, again all within this 6 week period, oh wait, they're trying to ban that too! Seems that some men want it all their own way and just don't care for the consequences that the woman could be left with.
  16. Some more info on him: "Some Discord members showed The Washington Post video of Teixeira shouting racist and antisemitic slurs before firing a rifle." https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/04/13/jack-teixeira-discord-document-leak/
  17. Absolutely, it not only affects the women but also the children: Women who are denied abortions risk falling deeper into poverty. So do their kids "I defaulted on student loans that I was navigating," she says. She'd been studying to be a paralegal but had left without a degree. Within about a year, she also defaulted on credit card payments, which eventually led to her meager checks being garnished. At one point, she juggled three jobs — one of them full time — trying to make it all work. "It was certainly rough." https://www.npr.org/2022/05/26/1100587366/banning-abortion-roe-economic-consequences
  18. Thomas’s obligation to report the real estate deal couldn’t be clearer. He had reported the property as an asset. Selling it was a transaction that necessitated disclosure. The Ethics in Government Act requires judges, like other senior officials, to file annual financial reports, and sets out the consequences for failing to comply. It further provides that the relevant party, which in the case of judges is the Judicial Conference, “shall refer to the Attorney General the name of any individual which such official or committee has reasonable cause to believe has willfully failed to file information required to be reported.” A violation can result in a fine under the criminal code. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/04/13/clarence-thomas-real-estate-deal-ethics-harlan-crow/
  19. You should check the definitions of "migrant encounters." Jan- Illegal crossings by migrants from the four countries were down more than 95 percent https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/02/01/us-border-crossings/ Unlawful entries along U.S.-Mexico border plummeted in January after expansion of migrant expulsions https://www.cbsnews.com/news/immigration-us-mexico-border-numbers-january-2023-migrant-expulsions/ Stricter U.S. migration controls keep illegal border crossings at 2-year low — for now https://www.cbsnews.com/news/immigration-border-crossings-us-mexico-february-2-year-low/
  20. Incredibly naive to think that in Florida, schools are not required to teach sex education yet half of Florida’s 12th graders had already had sexual intercourse. Then expect all those adolescents to have adequate information from somewhere. That you then expect a political decision to just switch off access to abortion where overwhelming evidence shows the futility of restrictions and bans in stopping abortions. Upholding reproductive rights is crucial for the health of women and girls. But then you're a man speaking on what they should do, as is DeSantis and his clowns.
  21. That's just not accurate, there is no month and a half window. Most pregnancy tests are recommended only when you miss a period. so the window is extremely small and its one which every sexually active women would need to take every month if you don't want a child. Or if you are unsure when your period is due then a 3 week period is recommended.
  22. Abortion is essential healthcare and women’s health must be prioritized over politics The systematic denial of timely access to safe abortion services is discriminatory and reflects a gendered power struggle involving the instrumentalization of women's bodies aimed at subjecting them to a patriarchal agenda. Unfortunately, restrictions and bans are not a thing of the past. Despite overwhelming evidence showing the futility of restrictions and bans in stopping abortions, and the harms caused, political actors in different parts of the world have been using their power to deny women and girls their constitutionally protected rights and freedoms. https://www.ohchr.org/en/statements/2021/09/abortion-essential-healthcare-and-womens-health-must-be-prioritized-over Why restricting access to abortion damages women’s health https://journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/article?id=10.1371/journal.pmed.1004075
  23. Yet you made that claim based on the quote you highlighted which was: "for rape and incest, and also for risk of life/substantial health risk" So even more exaggeration on your part then?
  24. Yes but that's not how it works, you made a claim, its up to you to back it up. Unless you do your usual "I DON'T CARE"
