  1. Busting the ‘Defund the Police’ Myth Republicans have spent the past two years accusing Democrats of trying to defund police departments. But the facts show that the police have not been defunded. In fact, not only have Democrats put more money into policing since fiscal year 2019, but they also spend more on policing than Republican-run cities. Here are the facts that disprove this myth: https://www.americanprogressaction.org/article/defund-police-myth/
  2. Maybe if the police had of arrived sooner this wouldn't have happened. It was 30 mins after first call that they finally arrived. Repeated 911 calls, a 30-minute wait for deputies: Texas survivors question why help didn’t arrive sooner "Maybe my family would still be alive," said man who hid in closet during attack that killed five in San Jacinto County. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/texas-shooting-survivors-question-help-didnt-arrive-sooner-rcna82314
  3. A novel virus causing a pandemic and countless deaths........... Fortunately the experts acted when they did. Huge new study finds masks most effective public health measure in fighting COVID-19 One experiment across 200 countries showed 45.7 percent fewer COVID-19 related deaths in countries where mask wearing was mandatory, according to the study. https://thehill.com/changing-america/well-being/prevention-cures/582132-huge-new-study-finds-masks-most-effective-public/ Mask Mandates Save Lives We find a significant and substantial effect—mask mandates reduced new weekly COVID-19 cases, hospital admissions, and deaths by 55, 11 and 0.7 per 100,000 inhabitants on average. Crucially, we find that the effect of mask mandates depends on the attitudes toward mask wearing at the county level, with larger effects in counties more positively inclined towards mask wearing. https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WP/Issues/2021/08/05/Mask-Mandates-Save-Lives-460123 Mask-wearing linked to 53% cut in Covid incidence, global study finds Mask-wearing is the single most effective public health measure at tackling Covid, according to the first global study of its kind, which found that the measure was linked to a 53% fall in the incidence of the disease. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/nov/17/wearing-masks-single-most-effective-way-to-tackle-covid-study-finds
  4. Fortunately the local Sheriff had some more appropriate words to say. On Sunday, Capers became emotional as he spoke about Daniel Enrique Laso-Guzman. “My heart is with this eight-year-old boy,” Capers said. “I don’t care if he was here legally. I don’t care if he was here illegally. He was in my county. Five people died in my county, and that is where my heart is — in my county, protecting my people to the best of our ability.”
  5. Totally agree, I wouldn't expect them to bring up that claim made by the poster when reporting on Delta, in relation to why there were more deaths under Biden. Why I put in reply to his post: "Never hear that in the right wing media in reference to the claim you made eh..........."
  6. Fox did not state that the reason for more deaths under Biden was due to Delta. Follow the string of posts.
  7. “The high risk of bias in the trials, variation in outcome measurement, and relatively low adherence with the interventions during the studies hampers drawing firm conclusions,” the authors wrote. “The low to moderate certainty of evidence means our confidence in the effect estimate is limited, and that the true effect may be different from the observed estimate of the effect.” In short. The Study is being updated and firm conclusions cannot be made at this time.
  8. The claim: The facts as to why that would be:
  9. Here's one more fun fact. The arrival of Delta, the most virulent strain of covid which was also had vaccine immune properties did not hit the US till June 2021. Never hear that in the right wing media in reference to the claim you made eh...........
  10. Too many guns, not enough regulations: Rene Arevalo Sr., who lives a few houses down, said he heard gunshots around midnight but didn't think anything of it. "It's a normal thing people do around here, especially on Fridays after work," Arevalo said. "They get home and start drinking in their backyards and shooting out there." https://abc13.com/cleveland-texas-shooting-5-dead-in-san-jacinto-county-child-killed/13195094/
  11. Your claim is not valid. Cochrane have since issued a statement just last month. Many commentators have claimed that a recently-updated Cochrane Review shows that 'masks don't work', which is an inaccurate and misleading interpretation. https://www.cochrane.org/news/statement-physical-interventions-interrupt-or-reduce-spread-respiratory-viruses-review People online are touting the results of a Cochrane review to incorrectly claim that it shows masks “don’t work” against the coronavirus. https://www.factcheck.org/2023/03/scicheck-what-the-cochrane-review-says-about-masks-for-covid-19-and-what-it-doesnt/
  12. I see. So are you saying that there is/was no such thing as the "media's biden protection program"? Yes but you obviously believe Sean and another conspiracy theory that that the media had a protection programe....lol
  13. The title is from Fox news quoting a statement from SEAN HANNITY.........................lol
  14. Lots of maybe's there, although I agree its wrong to convict someone just because you don't like them. That's why there's a judge and jury...........
  15. Where did you here about her antisemitism etc, that was not in Biden short sentence........... I also liked his roasts on DeSantis, McCarthy & Carlson. But the MTG was my favourite. At the correspondents dinner its a tradition to roast your opponents and unfortunately she is part of that group despite you correctly labeling her prejudices.
  16. My daughters school uses Google Docs, they don't even need Microsoft office for that and yes does not matter whether windows or Mac
  17. Without recommending any particular make or model, one thing to consider is the battery life. You need a laptop that lasts throughout the school day so no charging needed. Nothing worse than for a student to need to charge when in lessons.
  18. Same way as in California: California’s red flag law, which allows people to obtain gun violence restraining orders (GVROs), went into effect seven years ago. Since then, GVROs have been credited with deterring at least 58 potential mass shootings and other types of gun violence in California, including suicides. Currently, 19 states and the District of Columbia have red flag laws, also known as extreme risk protection order laws. https://health.ucdavis.edu/news/headlines/what-are-red-flag-laws-and-how-can-they-prevent-gun-violence/2023/01
  19. Women lying on top of the children, protecting them. The scene sounds horrific but is almost part and parcel of everyday news in the US. Even FOX is publishing polls asking for more regulations. https://www.foxnews.com/official-polls/fox-news-poll-voters-favor-gun-limits-arming-citizens-reduce-gun-violence
  20. Yet they are doing that for the chance to save a few lives. Respect. I doubt they talked about the tobacco industry or driving laws, they were there for the firearm bill.
  21. If they save one innocent life in Colorado they are more than worth it.
  22. I'm not deflecting. Maybe he was seen, how do you know he was not? The problem to this is there is no date given.
  23. Its not like taking those he wanted to F*** shopping was something new to him. This from his transcript on another woman: "Trump: No, no, Nancy. No, this was [unintelligible] — and I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, “I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.” I took her out furniture — I moved on her like a bitch." https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/08/us/donald-trump-tape-transcript.html
