Haven’t seen anything about it on CNN so it can’t be true.

There will be many expats that will have to leave the Kingdom because they won’t have the funds to stay. The party’s over, I guess, for those lying about their income for years. Good luck to them as they travel to their home country and try to make a living for themselves. I don’t say this sarcastically, as I do feel for those who are going through a lot of stress now, even if it is because of their own decisions.

I remember thinking as I was going up the escalator at Terminal 21 mall one time that someone could easily jump over the rail and fall to their death. It’s a LONG way down.

i dont like too dark, but some thai girls have an amazing 'golden' colour...
the sad part--many then go and get tatooed---thats sooo ugly...
If a Thai girl is getting tattoos all over herself she is most likely a bar girl anyway, and undesirable to me. Traditional Thai girls will not be tatted all over, although the younger ones may have a small one or two in a discrete area.

I have a few military buddies that retired there. They said it was still the dirty third world country it was when we were there in the Marine Corps in ‘82. Not much has changed. I think Thailand is a lot better option.

Watch, it will be for Thai Nationals only. No Farang can get card!

Screw that snowflake Perlman. He can go eff himself. I won’t watch anything he does.

We’re in America and she STILL buys the whitening lotions from Thailand. I told her it’s okay to be dark here. Everyone goes to tanning salons to look the way she does.

Do they have to use “stiff sentence” in a sex article?

Why an exodus ? its not that hard to put money in a Thai account. If you have the money its just moving money around.
I believe his inference was that many do not have the funds and were lying under oath to obtain the proper affidavit which is probably true.

I’m not close to retirement yet so I haven’t looked into the requirements very deep before but I always just assumed you would have to provide an address from your pension provider that the embassy could send a letter to and confirm your pension amount before issuing a letter. I had no clue they had just been issuing letters based on people swearing they were receiving the required amounts. I’m really surprised they’ve let it go this long. There must be tons of expats that lied and don’t really qualify and are getting caught up in this. No wonder these threads are so long and gaining a lot of attention!

The other possibility is that they are just to lazy to do the job there being paid for .
Some pensions are from private companies, not the government.

When I proposed to my wife in 2015, I hadn’t gotten a ring yet. It was sort of a spur of the moment thing. I told her, so I guess you’re going to want a ring with a big diamond, eh? She said she didn’t need a ring at all but if I wanted to get her one, a simple gold band was enough. After doing some research, I found out that thai gold is almost pure and somewhat soft. I decided to wait until she got to the US and we got married to get a ring. When she got here I took her to the jewelry store and she picked out a small 18k (no Thai gold there) yellow gold band with some tiny diamonds on it. It was only $500 USD. She cherishes that ring and wears it every day. I asked her why she never wanted a big diamond and she said Thais don’t care about diamonds, just gold. I asked her why and she said because diamonds lose their value. With gold, you can use it to eat if you need to. I had never even thought of that.

You obviously haven’t owned a US car of recent years. They learned their lesson of the past and quality is unsurpassed. I know, I work at Ford’s research and Engineering center.

The real crime here is being in Thailand and taking a fatty back to the hotel room.

Is there any advantage in a married woman changing her name these days?
My wife will be getting her US citizenship in a few years and we want to be able to travel back and forth from the US to Thailand with no issues. Having a plane ticket in her married name and both passports in her married name would be advantageous for having no issues.

You can find a room in BKK for 3000 baht a month but it will most likely have no A/C, no elevator, no hot water, no kitchen, and not be anywhere near a BTS station. That’s what I found anyway when helping my girl find a new place. Living like that and eating street food every day like a Thai is hard for a westerner for any length of time.

Since you specifically mentioned Soi Cowboy and Nana then you DO have a clue about Thailand.

Beauty is subjective. Some like Asian women, some don’t. It’s really not a big deal. Enjoy the women you like. The guys you see here talk about them in a flattering way obviously like Asian women, that’s all.

I enjoy my wife not being fluent in English. I never get the “what do you mean by that” crap associated with women reading into what I’m saying more than is there. Them trying to twist my words around or insert sarcasm where it’s not. There is something said for basic communication and no BS. Although we do both have a great sense of humor and when I’m being a pain in the ass to her and she says she’s going to make “Tom Yum DICK” for dinner if I don’t stop, I laugh my ass off. I’d enjoy it if I was you. If you want an intellectual conversation, find a smart bloke and have a beer with him.

I wondered if a big Harley Davidson Ultra Classic would be a prime target for thieves. Apparently not, unless there just isn’t enough of them around to get poll numbers from.

If I was 90 I’d say screw it, I’m overstaying. Catch me if you can. What would you have to lose?
