A done deal even before he dared to set foot back in Thailand. Come back, fanfare, show his face in court, feign sickness, go to hospital, plead health issues, get a doctors note, private room, application for a pardon on medical grounds. Back at the Thaksin residence in less than a month.

Last day before turning 50
At age 49 I came to reside in Thailand, six months later I turned 50. 15 years later I'm still here and enjoying life to the full.. Life doesn't stop after having a 50th birthday... it is what you make it.

Pension system in need of reform as cost pressure mounts
You can only get out what you pay in, if you don't pay into a pension scheme or only pay peanuts expect the same out.. Thailand needs a national pension scheme that is linked to the cost of living, and people have to expect to have to pay a percentage of income into it to get something out later.
