Factory worker’s sacking to attend grandmother’s funeral sparks public outcry
I remember years ago when I was an apprentice at an aircraft company.. 48 minutes lunchtime usually meant we got a bit of kip in as well as food. One apprentice fell asleep in his car and failed to wake up and clock back in. asking the supervisor if one of us should go and get him he said no it's ok. Whiles he's sleeping he's still got a job. that was 50 years ago..times were different.

Thailand reviews taxes and launches digital wallet to tackle income disparity

Thai PM to discuss visa-free travel, boost Indian tourism in Thailand
Cheap Charlies are the only thing keeping Thailand afloat at the moment.. why such emphasis on daily numbers, tourism spend etc etc. the millionaire traveler is not interested in a plastic seat on a road-side vendor selling 40 baht rubbish. They want thousands of back packers here for a week or two, then go to make way for more. Boasting about millions of tourists sounds better than half that number spending 10x as much.

Opinion: Thailand’s ambitious plan to tax incoming funds risks falling flat due to lack of clarity
Those Thais who keep money in overseas accounts but periodically have a transfer back home will be displeased. Also those working overseas ending monthly welfare payments home to family would not like paying tax twice.
