Ok, so I went to Vanarom Dental Clinic and everything went smoothly (smooth as silk!). I stay around 45 minutes, the doctor was very attentive and also told me the price before 1.) Cleaning part of my mouth (only one part, justified, I didn't clean it since... well, many years 2.) Fixing the cavity. I paid 1500 + 1500, = 3000 baht. I'll certain use the same dental clinic and the same doctor next time.

Some news from Nong Khai border since this post has been opened? I'm going to Nong Khai on Friday for a visa run, I really don't want to stay in Vientiane one or two nights. I am in Bangkok, I have chosen Nong Khai because you can back to Thailand the same day, otherwise I would have probably chosen to fly to KL.

Hi everyone, I already mentioned these two points in my previous post about Nong Khai border visa run but as I didn't get any answer I think people missed them so I'm opening a new post. 1. Nong Khai border to Lao: is there a link somewhere on Internet to download the Lao immigration form(s) to fill it (them) quietly while I'm still in Thailand? I found some forms but they were from New Zealand or Australia embassy - it was mentioned on the forms - so, I didn't downloaded them. 2. Even if this is a long travel, I would use Padang Besar instead of Nong Khai if I could: no visa fee + no one page lost with visa. However, it's clear that until recently, you needed to stay one night in Malaysia. Could this have changed since July 15th with the new 60-day visa exemption? Logically there is no link between the two but logic in Thailand is not always obvious... 3. Did someone slept one night in Padang Besar (Malaysia) not far from the railway station? Thank you!

Thanks for the tip, but I've read about the e-visa and I won't apply online: it's most expensive - $50 instead of $40 - and some people claim their e-visa wasn't recorded in the system and they had to pay again at the border. Too bad, I could pay $50 instead of $40 to avoid to loose one page on my passport... but taking the risk to pay $50 + $40... BTW, did things have changed at Padang Besar since July 15? If I remember correctly, someone told me on this forum that now people weren't allowed to come back on the same day and have to stay one night in Malaysia. Padang Besar = $0 visa and very little stamp on your passport.

???????? Are you serious? I never asked about flying to Udon Thani - your idea - instead to use the train - my idea. I was asking about some recent experience about crossing the border and some possible new things I should know. This is why a created this post. About the train, I just found a video on YouTube: there is now a direct train from Bangkok to Vientiane (or kind of, as the new station is not really in Vientiane). I wonder if there are two trains, the old one to Nong Khai and the new one to Vientiane, or only one? EDITED. Well, I found the answer on this site (SRT official site, https://www.railway.co.th/Station/StationList direct link to the page is not possible): there are two trains, the one ending at NK leave Bang Sue at 20:25 and arrive at 6:25 (1 more $ for the visa...) and the one ending in Vientiane at 21:25, arriving in Vientiane (Khamsawath) at 7:55.
