  1. Thank you very much again. But I don't like beer at all and I'm not attracted by beaches.
  2. Thank you very much for your comment. 1. Well, usually I didn't... that said, in Busan I struggled to find a place to change a little bit of money (not like Bangkok where they are change shop everywhare) 2. My Airbnb is less than 1km from airport, before the bridge, so I'm going to walk (only 1 cabin luggage)
  3. Hello everyone, I'm living in east Asia since 2005 but only went one time in Vietnam - Hanoi - more than 15 years ago. As I stayed 9 months in Thailand in 2022 thanks to the Covid extension, immigration in Bangkok make me problems to come back. So, the last time I flied to Chiang Mai where immigration is more relax (and yes, no problem at all and when I waied the lady at immigration, she waied me back too). However, as I'm flying from Japan or Korea, it's more complicated and/or more expensive to fly to Chiang Man than to Bangkok. Sunday I'll fly from Busan in Korea and to get a cheap flight, I have to change in Da Nang. I realised that since August 2023 you can get a 45 days visa at Da Nang airport. So, I'm planning to stay at least one month in Da Nang. I find that Chiang Mai is more and more expensive, Airbnb prices are close to the ones in Bangkok (at least if you want to stay in the old city). Locations in Da Nang are less expensive. I need some advice to my stay in Da Nang, mainly about money. I read some thread about exchanging bath against dongs. Well, I've some won and some yen, but not enough for one month. So, my plan is too use my debit card in euro to get money (my bank doesn't charge me anything when I withdraw money abroad). 1.) So: - do Vietnam bank charge you for withdrawing with a debit card in euro? - some bank better change/less fee than others? - is withdrawing money at airport ok or a big mistake? - still I should withdraw money in Korea and change it in Vietnam rather than withdrawing dongs in Vietnam? - is changing money at Da Nang airport a big mistake too? 2.) Also, I'm planning to buy a sim card at Da Nantairport: some useful advices and do/not do about this? 3.) Did I forget something? Thank you very very much for your help!
  4. As I'm right now in Pattaya, what do you think about Baan Laerm Cambodian border? Many visa run companies from Pattaya offer a trip to it.
  5. I found this paragraph on https://www.thaisolutions1502.com/thailand-border-run/ "In 2018, further restrictions were introduced: you can now only get the visa exemption stamp two times per calendar year." Is it true? I already got 2 exemption visas this year - 1 at Suvarnabhumi, 1 in Chiang Mai airport. Or are exemption visas at airport and land border "amazingly" counted separately? The article is emphasising about getting an education visa and what has surprised me a lot: "you can study any language, not just Thai". Does someone stays in Thailand studying Japanese, Korean or I don't know any language other than Thai?

  7. And now, when you're using card for more than 200 baht, you must sign the receipt.
  8. It's ok, we've already understood you're speaking only about you and are not interested by other people.
  9. It's also my opinion and the reason why I came on this forum for help! ???? So many manu thanks again, I'm going to think about the best for me.
  10. Many thanks for your help: - I didn't know Mae Sai is closed - what is the problem with Aranyaprathet/Poipet ? I used it three or four times by the past and except the tuk tuk racket from the bus station to the border it was ok... last time I slept in Aranyaprathet - ok, not a great experience - and went back to Bangkok by train, which was pleasant - I know a very cheap chinese hotel in Nong Khai that I like and then I walk 30 minutes to the border but the problem is to pay - in $US - the Lao visa and even more annoying losing one page on my passport - I'm very far away from Ranong... that I didn't know (I know Mae Sot that I've used one time, very few farangs seem to know it, that said it was so so...) - I'm very far to Padang Besar too but there is a night train to Hat Yai (but some time it's late, you miss the train from Hat Yai to Padang Besar, you've to take the bus... anyway, could you tell me more about "you will likely need to pay a fee if you want to return the same day": it never happened to me that I paid a fee, what kind of "fee" ? A baksheesh ? Thanks again for your advices.
  11. You're funny with your 4 coconut water to spend more money to please 7/11! ???? Seriously, except for you, 200 bahts minimum is very bad, like any minimum. Especially in Thailand where banks racket you when you get cash at ATM.
  12. Hello, So, I came in Thailand on visa exemption and extended 30 days. My extension is about to end in two weeks. If I want to stay 60 days more - new visa exemption + new 30 days extension - what is my best chance for a visa run? - mae sai? - nong khai? - aranyaprateph? - padan besar - ? I used all of them by the past but didn't since many years now. Thank you!
  13. Don't use a Wise Card: I've one, I got a problem and couldn't find any support to contact them (by the past, they had support, you could contact them by email, now you couldn't).
  14. Very bad in my point of view. Especially as withdrawing cash at ATM is charged 280 baht in Thailand for foreign cards.
  15. Well, bad news, but thank you very much for letting me know. I didn't got this problem at 7/11 in Korea, Japan, Malaysia by the past. But maybe they have changed too... These countries have much different convenient stores, in Thailand 95% are 7/11 (but Lawson, which originated in US but is now Japanese, has opened some shops in Bangkok, still very few).
  16. So, no one has tried to pay less than 200 baht with credit card at a 7/11 today (August 10, 2023) ?
  17. Euh... should be me as I can't see my last post... I must be tired, I didn't even realise that I didn't use English. Sorry...
  18. Hello, I wanted to post in Thailand news but no "New topic" button for me... Well, anyway it happened in Bangkok: today, 10 August 2023, when I tried to pay with my Mastercard for 110 bahts to the 7/11 where I'm purchasing food since one week, it was refused. They explained me, since today, there is a 200 bahts minimum purchase to pay with credit card. Am I the only one/is it linked to this specific 7/11 or is it a "new rule" for all 7/11 in Thailand ? Thank you!
  19. First, I was surprised July 31 wasn't public holiday... still, why wait for the last moment to decide it? Two, I went to IT Square early, arriving at 8:20. I got the number 2 - there was only 5 or six people - and everything was finished at 8:40. I had prepared everything before to left my accommodation... except the two additional forms: I thought they have dropped them, but no. That said, you need one minute for each form, so not a big deal. Everyone was friendly and it was great to done everything in 15 minutes. Next time I'll come back for 8:30am again. Thanks again to people who have answered to my post.
  20. Yes, I know and while I gave the impression I wanted to go on Thursday my plan is to go tomorrow Tuesday. Thank you!
  21. Yes, July 30, sorry! And yes, I gave the impression I wanted to go on Thursday but my plan is to go tomorrow Tuesday. Thanks again.
  22. Thank you very much. I had a look on immigration website but didn't find the calendar. I knew August 1 was also public holiday for Buddha day, but didn't know for August 2. But my visa expire on June 30, so Thursday is last day for me.
  23. Hello, I understand the immigration in Bangkok (IT Square, Lak Si) is going to be close on Friday, July 28, due to the birthday of his Majesty the King? I wanted to be sure it's not going to be close also an other day this week, especially Thursday, for some reason (report of a previous public holiday for example). Thank you very much.
