  1. I though she was popular. Didn't another "poll" say this was the case.
  2. Sadly the Land of Smiles is also The Land of Brown Paper Bags. Let's set up a committee. This will surely change the entire culture. Who remembers the "all cars must have child seats" in cars where needed. Never happened. Never enforced. Helmets LOL. Everyday I see motorcyclists speeding past the BIB with no helmets. The list of health and safety issues in the LOBPB is extensive.
  3. Corruption scandal hits the brakes: Thailand’s bus industry whistleblows dirty dealings Disgusting tabloid headline. Whoever ok'd this should be ashamed of themselves.
  4. Mmmmm????? A bit of AI anyone, They say salad is good for you. Maybe AI word salad is also.
  5. The government. When it comes down to it that's where the buck stops. "This was systematic corruption that likely existed for a long time." TIT. Corrupt throughout it's history. Corrupt to the core. "Nationwide protests are warranted." Nationwide a protest was made at a general election and the majority voted for change. Voted to get rid of the corrupt system. Sadly the corrupt system prevailed.
  6. It seems you didn't understand my comment. It was not self defeating. I would need cash to pay for something if my internet was down as I could not access my bank app with no internet. No way I could scan to pay for something. I would need to draw out CASH. As I stated if I didn't have the cash on me. This is a given which I would assume everyone can comprehend. I thought that was pretty clear. BTW, yes, bank ATM's do go down sometimes but banks have their own intranet systems.
  7. No cash in pocket. Ok. Never mind I'll scan. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!! My internet is down. Ok. Never mind I'll go to an ATM to get CASH.
  8. By made up figures are you talking about the TAT by any chance? Maybe a NIDA poll?
  9. Poor taste mate. To make a joke of what's happened doesn't say much for your character.
  10. Ridiculous and puerile comment. I'm saying the govt bears some responsibility as seems to be evidenced by a whistleblower's account of corruption within a government dept. Of course corruption within a govt department in Thailand is what's known as a truism.
  11. Let's make it more positive by the government matching it or even doubling it. Your comment is a platitude.
  12. Agree. Sadly any cultural shift which could be pushed along by a progressive government will not be allowed. The wealth, power and corruption of the minority royalist military establishment must be maintained. Sadly this tragedy is an outcome of this system.
  13. I'm really am waiting for one of these nonsense rankings to say that Antarctica ranks amongst the best counties in the world. Yes I know it's not a country but there's always someone who will immediately quote me telling me "you're an idiot. Antarctica isn't a country". Sad thing is they are the idiots. Got a few on here. Let me just add a few of these before said idiots do.
  14. No surprise. Corruption is endemic. Starts at the very top.
  15. Interesting headline. I always thought there's quite a big difference from a downpour and a rain shower. Of course I might be wrong. Drizzle/Light showers/Moderate showers/Heavy showers/Light rain/moderate rain/Heavy rain/Downpour/Torrential rain. Just a thought.
  16. Agree but as a result of the governments actions these too are part of the no school trips allowed. I might be wrong but doesn't the government directive mean all buses not just the LNG gas ones? If so are they going to carry out inspections on all buses? The answer to this is no. As it stands >200 LNG fueled buses need to be checked daily for the nxt 60 days. Will they also check brakes, steering, tires etc. of these buses? Fair chance as I'm typing this some of the dodgy LNG converted buses are rather rapidly being converted back.
  17. The correct approach is not to allow it in the first place. This is just the usual reactionary process that will lead to very few changes. I have empathy, buckets of it but I've also lived here for over 20 years and seen how things happen. As for checking the fleet as I stated elsewhere this will mean over 200 buses checked per day and this is only the gas conversions. What about all the diesel buses? All in 60 days?
  18. Typical knee jerk reaction from the govt.
  19. So is this an AI generated headline or what? Needs to be changed. Being dissolved after winning the election by a landslide by a corrupt judicial system put in place to protect the status quo/wealth and power of the establishment IS NOT a collapse of a political party. It's state sponsored corruption of any semblance of the democratic process to deny a political party opposed to the minority royalist military establishment and supported by the majority of voters who want change. NOT A COLLAPSE.
  20. Thai Embassy in Israel on High Alert Amid Rising Tensions Mmmmm? Rising tensions? War perhaps? The pager and walkie talkie self carried explosive was a touch of brilliance. Scary. Don't buy Chinese phones.
  21. Your last two words assumes it's going to happen. As I said it's just knee jerk reaction and the 5 points of action are just ridiculous (see above post). Sounds good but that's what sound bites and knee jerk reactions are all about. I initially stated that fk all will change and I stand by that but I hope I'm wrong.
  22. Sorry but your comment has a fatal flaw and here it is...."why did it take the death of all these children for it to happen?" I understand you're sentiment but do you think anything significant will happen to change the situation? IMHO this is just more knee jerk hot air reactionary BS to fool people into thinking they're doing something.
  23. 1: How? Who with? That's 223 buses per day. 2: Raise the standards? You can wrap a turd in a rose but it's still going to be a turd. 3: 500 trips happening next Tuesday (just an example) each starting at 5:00 am. All buses will need to be thoroughly inspected before the journey. How? Who's going to do it? 4: How? Who will conduct the training and who will pay for it? What defines emergency response? 5: This is a seatbelt.
  24. Not everyone here can afford cars. Chances are that if this lot were involved in a crash the outcome wouldn't be rosy and the chances also are that the crash was caused by an idiot in a car. Makes me cringe when I see this sort of thing. Toddlers standing up between the rider and the pillion. Ah! It's horrifying but it's also daily life in TIT.
