  2. I especially loved the part about the old punters and ladyboys.

Like any part of thailand, life is how you make it.

Have done it all the walking street, shadier sois blah blah and love the city if it's there to be had then pattaya is the place to be,along with most other tourist traps all over thailand itself, glad that you came and enjoyed yourself .clap2.gif

  3. By Bus

The Transportation Co., Ltd. provides daily bus services between Bangkok and Ang Thong. There are both air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses leaving from the Northern Terminal Bus Station (Mo Chit 2) on Kamphaeng Phet II Road. For more information, please contact 0 2537 8055, 0 2936 2852-66, 0 2936 3603.

    By Train

The Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lumphong) is the major terminal where daily trains leave for Ayutthaya and on to Chiang Mai. To get to Ang Thong, one can take a train to Ayutthaya and then take a short bus ride to Ang Thong.

Sorry no tips info only but if you like you can buy me a few burp.gif.pagespeed.ce.RBpw6FUyRR.gif

  4. Ended up buying new in siam paragon

Official rolex shop on the ground floor. Explorer 1 39mm they had 1 in stock, 214,000 retail, they sold it to me at 192,000 incl tax.

Brand new, box, all the paperwork, tags, odds and sods, sized and links put in the box, 2 year warrantee activated on the system for me right there, the works. Definitely worth the uplift. And even got a cup of tea...

This is still cheaper than a used mint explorer 1 39mm in the UK, or close. Lots of ebay sellers have for sale at £3750. So my purchase price of approx £3400 means if I get bored some day in years to come I'll either break even or make a profit.

Shame I can't claim the 12,000 baht VAT refund as we're taking the train out to Cambodia tomorrow!!! Would have been another £250 odd saved. But no bother, still absolutely chuffed with the product and the price

I think you made the right decision. If you are prepared to spend that kind of money anyway, then definitely worth paying the extra to make sure it is 100% genuine.

Just don't go showing your new watch off in Cambodia smile.png

Or for that matter Pattaya the ladyboys would have a field day selling it smile.png
  5. You may have to pay your condo management a 1 off fee for broadband installation, that's supposing you have a phone line to your condo.

Because they should check the internal lines, the company who supplies the modem are not usually allowed to check internals.

maybe like myself you may have a internet shop closeby who offers a wifi connection for a princely sum of 250 baht monthly, which is adequate for surfing playing online games etc,and i even dl movies.

So check it out before you decide on entering a broadband contract for 1 year or 2.

  6. Thought i would input further,a prirvate firm namely darren at key visa charges an additional fee of 300 baht so the amount paid is currently 2,820 baht similar costing as using the postal system.

Darren at one time did approx 30 income letter applications in bangkok per week, and at a guess i should imagine it closer to fifty or more,so for him a nice little earner.

    Thats how it's done.

And no he not a relative of mine or of anyone within the embassy,to my knowledge but he has an agreement with them to act as agent.

But hey darren please adopt me and wine and dine me you rich begger.violin.gif.pagespeed.ce.8MK3fN8NTC.gif

  7. Well i certainly don't as an example, with the exception of a individual who is forever in a drunken stupor and begs money for food or rent until the next payday then i will flatly refuse.

If that is putting the boot in then i apologise but i wont help others who won't help themselves.thumbsup.gif

  8. Went Austrian consul,Swedish consul in pattaya 4th july resulting answers as follows Cannot do go bangkok, Will not do for income out of sweden.

After those 2 visits went to key visa, get letter tomorrow.

Posted this on another thread but hey you got it now..coffee1.gif

  9. Strange but maybe not so strange,my mate did a cambodia land visa run yesterday,on his return he informed me that now there is no need to cross the bridge on foot although you are allowed to,you get stamped out and in on the thai side, now if this info is correct then what about the poor beggers lined across the bridge not to mention lost revenue on the cambodian side,oh yes forgot to mention that i was also informed that the old wooden bridge is no more, replaced by modern technology as in concrete now.clap2.gif

  10. I did the same 90 day report as the OP states on 4th july in jomtien, the glitch was that i got a completed TM47 dated 4th july , on the other side of which was a copy of some other visitors passport photo, now my next report date is 1st october, so for 1 the date is incorrect, and which i can deal with, but now instead of of the usual tear off notification i have a full a4 sized document stapled within my passport.

But all credit immo at least your getting there.

  11. No sanding nescessary unless you want to shell out mega baht on a 30 second life sheet of sandpaper
Unless you wish to remove any globs of mortar that accidently got splashed onto your wall but i would use a plain scraper for this.

Use a good quality standard undercoat/or concrete sealant

Two coats are the norm and in damp areas particularly look at using anti-fungal paints
Exterior ICI,Jotun,Nippon,Berger or the more expensive TOA 4 Seasons are paints that work well here.

Oh and do remember to purchase a roller and or paintbrush.

  12. Have the same problem here but as well as dust forming i get a lot of buildup of hair from my persian cat.

my solution is to get my gf to do regular cleaning then i tape her mouth up, at least it stops the nagging 1 problem solved i can live with the other, good luck lol.

  13. Mapguy no problem but i did point out it was pattaya and for the OP to ask at the helpdesk.

I see no reason why things would be changed in any region for such a straightforward document.

As you know this document is used for opening bank account/buying motorbike blah blah

so many more of these are issued i should imagine more so than visa extensions, but hey i could be wrong again lol,

  14. Yes it could be helpful to someone unsure in another region, hence i recall, and yes i do have a good memory and would not presume myself to attack other posters comments who are only trying to help.

And your post was extremly helpful wasn't it not Mapguy Amen.tongue.png

  15. Here in pattaya i recall the residence cert officer sits in a side room with only 2 desks, all you do is wait at the doorway until the office is clear,no queue # was required.

The documents you have listed are correct,as for the passport pics only 1 is used but if you go to a photographer you will get 4 anyway for 100 baht or so maybe a little more in your region.as for the fee involved was at the time 200 baht or so.

This may have been amended as i havent required one for about 7 years.

But anyway just go along to your immo office with the nescessary docs and enquire as to whether # is required.

I have found that the desk clerk is very helpful ty thailand.w00t.gif .

  16. I love the new macro...just food and basic household supplies so easy to find everything and not the cluster-<deleted> like at the Jomtien location. As you point out, lots of close convenient parking. For me personally, also much more convenient location. None of the macros take credit/ATM cards. There are ATMs available if you find yourself short.

Thx for the gen re:- credit card/ATM cards, not finding myself short just wanted to try it thats all,i agree with you over the convenient location as is the same for me living close to bigC on pattaya klang,i was unreliably informed by a thai shop owner that the new makro was the same setup as the larger store hence my original dissapointment, and like you will visit it again, and as you also point out no clutter.

Please keep it quiet that ATMS are available as it was i had to keep my thai gf blindfolded during my expediition, otherwise i would have needed a truck to carry my goods home.facepalm.gif
