  1. The government needs to push a keep Thailand clean campaign. If they did this It would at least start something good in the minds of the Thai people. There is a culture of accepting pollution as OK among most of the Thais. I see this everywhere and it's a real pity just passes on from generation to generation. Hope things get better.

Maybe you misunderstood me. It seems ok for Thai to dispose of rubbish in water, or tour operator to feed fish but not ok for tourist to do? Tourist gets fined but what happened to tour operator? They should be advising tourists about the laws. If the operator or his crew see tourists feeding fish they should be instructing the tourist that it is against the law! One poster on this forum stated they had seen tour operators feed the fish in order to enhance the tourists' experience! That is what I mean about selective justice.

I did misunderstand, parts of the original are missing. No problem, thanks for clarifying this.I lived in Bang saen last year and seen too many Thai weekend warriors from BKK destroy the beach in no time at all, trash everywhere.

    Oh! This is too funny.

So the tourists are to blame for all the knock off goods? Thai people don't buy them, is that what he is trying to say?

I can really see your average taxi driver saying to his customer ,"Ooo! Don't go in there mister. Let me take you somewhere where you can pay ten times more!"

Especially given that all the "labels" are often made in Asia, so the knock off price is actually the fair one.

    Good read, I like it!

Disgraceful to use that photo. The poor man is entitled to an exit with some dignity and his battles with the bottle do not lessen that right. The Thai media seems to love publishing pictures of people in extremis and beyond but professes outrage when someone's foot is seen protruding from a vehicle. It's all totally <deleted>-up and insensitive beyond description.

I also just complained this same point on the story about the viagra guy death with a hard on. Really not classy at all.

Has anyone measured the handrail height in their hotels ? and to the informed does Thailand have building specifications relating to handrail heights on staircases and balconies ? In the UK it is 1.1 meters minimum from datum to top of rail for balconies .

They are very low everywhere maybe 36" and there probably isn't a standard minimum, even if there is it wouldn't be enforced like everything else.. I am a short person and get nervous just being close to them. In the US I believe it is 42".

Balcony railings are too low for the average farang; they are designed to protect the average Burmese.  This was not attempted suicide whatever the BIB say.

I have never heard of a place(Thailand) where so many people fall off buildings, just incredible. I would like to hear an unadulterated comment from her on the fall. ?????? We will probably never get one.

Apichai added: "If tourists are drunk and disorderly please call police. We will help to sort it out fairly. If the tourist is in the wrong then we will deal with that accordingly".

This is the right answer and she was denied bail I believe. Only a few weeks back a convicted killer was granted bail until sentencing. And what about the other murder suspects that are granted bail, strange?
