i  live  separately  from  my  Wife for various reasons, 1.  she works in BKK and i dont like to live there I like the countryside, 2.  she earns a lot of  money there so moving here isnt an option.

We meet  up every  month here or I go there for a few  days, we  both dont mind and meeting  up is like a honeymoon every time.

We have holidays together overseas for about 1  month each year

I like the honeymoon part, maybe we should try this!

It has never happened to me, or any friends I have met over the years here.

    Strange that, isn't it ?

It has happened to me a  twice in bangkok as I was walking down the street(nightime) a few years ago, but never once in many years afterwards. Getting groped is easy when you're not ready for it and putting up a fight could be a problem, 'cause these folks travel in packs at times. Best just to get the hell out of there as I did.

Speakers said they were just medicinal plants and not addictive drugs. And it was widely known that they had many uses in medicinal purposes.

I don't totally agree about not addictive, but it's not anywhere nearly as dangerous as alcohol. I do have friends I've known my whole life and they have wasted most of their lives up in smoke, yes, they are addicted.

Do they drive on the same side of the road as here?  I know when I first came, it took me some time to get use to this...always looking the wrong way!

    RIP to this poor chap.

That is a possibility and an easy mistake to make. I am from US and drive in both countries twice a year and catch myself cussing at people when I'm the one who should be getting cussed at!

I wonder how many US expats would have to leave or look for alternatives if they actually had to tell the truth and prove their income declaration with evidence lol

anyway up to them they can get away with it and I'm not complaining at all, as long you can then happy days

Most people have it(money requirements) or at least did have it or they would have never gotten the visa in the first place in their home country where you do have to have proof of everything, I meet both requirements income monthly and savings. My first trip to bangkok embassy I had paper everywhere proving this and that and found out I needed nothing except an appointment for nortary services and my current passport/visa. I think it's a nutty system and easy to fool, but I don't make the rules and it still does cost money, so maybe that's all they really want not the truth.

  6. Could someone please give me advice? I’ve been on a retirement visa for two years and my renewal is coming in March, however, I’m two months late with my 800,000 B deposit this time. Does anyone know what the fine will be or will I have to leave? Thank you.

I have never been asked to provide any proof of money or income. Only asked a question(is everything true) to a notary service and sign a piece of paper, then out the door till next year. I don't think for a minute you will have any problems whatsoever.

  7.  Even late at night when there are less cars and traffic around, some of the roads in and around Pattaya are not in the best condition, and it’s very easy to lose control of your bike, especially at high speed.

Speed is the number one killer on motorbikes everywhere. I learned this myself after I crashed once and did some research, I still ride, but take it a bit slower and cautiously. Best of luck for the injured man, hope he recovers and learned a good lesson.
