    I don’t have the time to be old to much to do!and that’s just the way I like it!

    Same here - anyone asks me how old I am I always reply;

    What do you men?  Mentally, physically or chronologically!  Gets em thinking.

    Does wasabi taste the same as English mustard? Because they have it in my local 7-Eleven but I've only tasted it maybe once and can't remember what it was like.

    Tome no - Wasabi is a type of japanese horseradish and boy, does it have a kick!!!

    Colemans available in the following ;
    Big C

    Makro

    VillaMart

    Food for foreigners.

    I have to admit that the supply is very hit and miss.  With regards to cost - well I really don't care - if it's in the food line and I want I will buy it.

    Just what is a rough profit margin for these doctors doing PCR? 500% upwards? Why are people allowed to get rich like that because of a pandemic which is causing such misery throughout the world? Am I the only one who objects to the cost of these tests, or is it just that people are grateful to be able to fly at all?

    It's 6,000 baht here in Phuket, so for 2,600 I wouldn't moan.

    Also in the UK it is anywhere from 120 - 150 quid for a PCR test

    Two ideas. One is the local schools may have a recycle program. Save any batteries in a box and take them to a school. Two is a local recycle yard which there should be some around. I take all my UPS batteries to one and get about 30 baht for a 12 volt battery and they probably will accept a box of old alkaline too

    Thanks for that will ask my friends if their kids school will take them and my recycle lady.

    I just did mine a couple of weeks ago online. Very easy and straightforward. Apart from the usual NI Number and last address in UK, then it is when did you leave UK, last employer, when did you leave the last employer, which bank to pay into and frequency of payments address in Thailand and phone number. It really is that simple and efficient. They will send an SMS when they have processed it to say they will be sending a letter with details of how much you will be getting.

    Can I ask which country you are in?

  7. I applied for my uk state pension in July last year.  It couldn't be done on-line.

    I downloaded all the paperwork - extensive form.  Also they what to know all my employment history and where I have lived since birth!!!  Thankfully I had an old C.V. so it was easy(ish) to do but if you have moved around alot it is a bit difficult to remember your home addresses.

    That said all original document were returned quickly and I got notification of payments to my account a few weeks AFTER it had been paid but I think this was due to postage delays more than anything else.

    Good luck and bear in mind that you won't get any annual increases until you return to the UK permanently -- also I don't think the under-payments will be back dated.

  8. Very many people I know have relocated back to their villages.  Many remaining are already below the poverty line and are literally scratching a living.

    Handouts are all very well but that doesn't address the problem of lack of work - which is what the people I know want.

    Until the tourist industry picks up Phuket and many other islands will remain ghost islands.
