“It has affected the efficiency of the government,” Chaturon said.
Surely it can't get any worse !

Don't blame Covid here for lack of press freedom, in Thailand it all started around May 22nd 2014 and has got gradually worse since the country was illegally taken over.

"a group of people shouted abuse at Gen Prayut, prompting the police to reprimand them, claiming they were embarrassing the province."
He's embarrassing the country, they should be reprimanding him !

I think the difference is that when someone is sick in ICU, they get help and assistance of the highest quality in their challenge to survive.

He has been in power for 7 years too long already.
The sooner he goes, as long as democracy can be restored, the sooner Thailand can try to start to move forward again.

Welcome to Thai post coup politics.
Manifesto - Keep on trying to get opposition parties, who are deemed to be a threat to your illegally gained power, dissolved, using whatever pathetic means possible !

Why aren't all the other countries using the same method, if it is supposed to be a good idea ?
Probably because they all bought efficient vaccines in large quantities, and haven't got to scrape the barrel, so to speak !

5 minutes ago, webfact said:Saksayam said it was yet another example of the Thai government under the leadership of PM Prayuth Chan-ocha not sitting idly by but making the tough, incisive decisions to protect the public from harm.
If he had put as much thought and effort in getting effective vaccines early, there would not be a need for these contraptions !

There is yet to be a decision on whether to extend Thailand’s nationwide State of Emergency,
It should read that a decision has already been made, but yet to be announced !
There is no way they will let go of their so precious decree !

Quite possibly the opposite.
The protests were not solely against the incompetence of the government with it's pathetic Covid strategy, but more about it's shambolic 7 years in power.
The youth have realised that the government's main aim was always to appease the elite and affluent members of Thai society, and they don't really care about the rest. and will now increase their protests against the brutal police force and military factions.

The bane of current Thai politics, but when you initially take power by an illegal coup, what do you expect ?
Until they get rid of this military control, Thailand will not progress forward sadly.

1 hour ago, webfact said:found him guilty of faulty performance of his duty and recommended that he be deprived of pension and promotions for two years
One of the biggest scandals in Thailand in recent years, and all they can recommend is delaying his pension and promotion for two years !
I know the ruling is "not final", but hard to see the Prosecution Commission over ruling it.
And all this took a year !
Shows the true face of the corrupt Thai judicial system !

2 hours ago, webfact said:"We have handle it to the best our ability by all those concerned," he said
And that is one of the reasons why the majority of the country is now against you,
The "best of your ability" was nowhere near good enough, reeks of gross incompetence, nepotism and corruption, and has left a mostly unvaccinated country in a state of disrepair !

Prayut said. “Everything that I am today is because of what the two big brothers have taught me and I remember, they never taught me to be corrupt, and I never have been.”
Substitute "and I never have been" with "it came naturally" would seem more on the mark.

It has nothing to do with any silly curfew, you have not allowed them to open at all, full stop.
More pathetic excuses from a totally incompetent Czar.

That's probably more important for him than Thai deaths due to any virus !

Downgrading charges to manslaughter is especially significant because the jail term is reduced from 3-15 years. Since it is Thitisant’s first offense it may even be suspended.
That is a possible outcome, and if that happens and he walks free, it is a <deleted> disgrace !

Opposition: Five more years of Prayut premiership would mean more debt, conflict and stagnation

The sad thing is, he thinks he is doing a sterling job !
I suppose he is, as far as the elite, and other people who put him there are concerned !
Not good for the rest of the Thai people.
