Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
Two years ago I had a blood test and amongst the results was a PSA reading of 19 , my Doctor in Ao Nang immediately suggested a Urologist in Krabi. I of course went to see him and after the examination he recommended a MRI, needed to go to Surat Thani as Krabi has no MRI machine. The results classed me as a three which can be interpreted as maybe but I suggested we just monitored for a while, I hate needles especially big ones. The Doctor prescribed a tablet called UROFLOW to be taken once a day and this minimized the nocturnal toilet visits, if I need to get up before 0800 it's unusual. Twelve months later another MRI and I was downgraded to a two , a pleasant result indeed. I now see the Doctor every four months to report no change , collect only two months supply of tablets as I only take one every second day and also take a Saw Palmetto every morning , PSA now about seven and neither of us is concerned. I am seventy nine and and as long as things stay the same I will be happy.

65,000 Income problem with Wise
Check the code on your official statement it will show X888994 or MCL 1010### this shows bank using A P I system for internal transfer of funds from overseas. SCB have shown this for the last few years and my I O accepts this at every renewal... This must be my twentieth time of posting this information and your Bank should be able to confirm this.

Retirement visa using the monthly income
I have been using the monthly system for my Marriage extension since the Australian Embassy stopped their affidavit. I use Wise and the SCB bank and on their official statement all the Wise transfers are noted as X888994 or MCL 0101####. this code denotes funds transferred by the A P I system internally from overseas source. I am lucky that my I O had the courtesy to check and accept this coding, I might add that it seems very few can see beyond IFT on the statement. Lucky I live where I do.

Thailand and inflation
I have just come home from Lotus's and disagree that prices haven't risen, a few examples; Chicken wings 169 bht. was 80-90 last year, Coffee 196 bht last year 129 - 119 , Pork was never above 100 bht , now 150+. I am lucky that I have a decent pension and a Wife who enjoys cooking local foods but it is so apparent that the average Thai is worse off.

Australian proof of life form ????
I have just returned my UK proof of life form and wondered if Australia sends out a similar form. How does the Government know that I am alive as I live mostly in Thailand ?

UK: When Diversity Becomes Discrimination: Embedded Anti-white racism
slightly off topic but pertinent, P I A Pakistan International Airlines subjected all Pilots qualifications to scrutiny and found a frightening number were fake, their safety record was not impressive. In 2020 they were banned from flying to Europe, UK and USA , they are only just being allowed to return to the EU. There was also the case of a University in India that changed the examination that had the same questions for many years, the Students revolted and refused to take the new exam, result was old exam reinstated. These two countries are the source of many ' qualified " migrants and I think it validates some of the O P's impressions.

Car ecu advise needed, not working
I have a 2006 Ford Focus that has been unusable since the middle of last year due to ECU and motherboard problems with nobody in my area able to fix it. The dashboard displays lights including right indicator , engine fault, headlight main beam, door open all without the key in the ignition.....and it won't even engage the starter. The local Ford dealer has no idea, my comment regarding the known problem worldwide just elicited a vacant look, the readout says ..engine system problem ..manufacturer. Does anyone know of an Electrician in the Krabi province who has the ability to repair .

Have you ever had a near-death experience (NDE)?
Way back in the eighties I was flying from Sydney to Hobart in a small aircraft ( beech Baron ) . The weather was pretty poor with rain and low cloud but my crew and I had to be there that day so we took off asking for storm information from Sydney Tower, sorry, radar out at the moment was the answer. Full power and take off and we were in the clouds in seconds, instrument flying only, luckily the Pilot was my flight instructor and a very cool unflappable chap. We got to 1500 ft and suddenly we started going down at 3000 ft per minute, raising the nose only reduced the airspeed bringing us close to a stall. I remember watching the altimeter winding down until it got to 300 ft., house roofs appeared through gaps in the clouds and were very close and I was expecting a painful end. My thoughts which seemed totally rational were not uttering prayers , all I could think of was my Wife and two Daughters were going to be financially secure, thank goodness I listened to my Accountant and took out a policy which covered me for all eventualities. All of a sudden we were going up faster than any Baron has ever climbed and four minutes later we were above the clouds looking down at a beautiful layer of blinding white which matched all of our faces, it turns out Sydney had vectored us into a microburst and we were lucky that we flew from the centre to the updraft before hitting the ground. Someone asked me did I believe in God, I suppose the answers no, I could be wrong....

Bangkok to Sydney
I have used the Airasia overnight from KL to Sydney and paid for their " business class '" with their excellent nearly flat seats. I always sleep when possible on a long flight and don't miss the entertainment screens, the occasional free drink and so called better food. I do enjoy the substantial savings over the cost of so called full service airlines who have yet to regain the quality of service that disappeared many years ago.

How to send an Alzheimer's patient back to the U.K.? - From Bangkok
I have been following this thread and I am amazed that there is still so much discussion about the problems on a Plane, why ? . I know the OP has the best of intentions but look at the alternatives, the plane idea seems totally unrealistic. I am pleased that @Sheryl has joined in with her sensible comments especially regarding care in Thailand. As I said before Thailand has been promoted as a perfect place for aged care as the cost is usually less than The Australian age pension. The number of elderly Parents consigned to the aged care industry in Australia is very sad , nobody seems to want Granny or Granddad any more, they would rather pay or spend their inheritance and visit occasionally . Regarding costs , if he has sold a property he must have some funds and I would assume he receives some sort of pension so Thai care accommodation should be well within his reach, why send him back to the unknown. I am from the UK originally via fifty years in Australia, soon to be eighty and luckily married to a Thai Lady who I am sure will look after me until the day I end up in the fire, I'm lucky......

How to send an Alzheimer's patient back to the U.K.? - From Bangkok
If this was up to me I think a care home in Thailand would be far more suitable. I am from Australia and the care home situation there is very expensive and in many instances is dreadful, I have knowledge of this having had a partner who worked in the care industry, note, INDUSTRY. Thailand was being widely promoted in Australia as an ideal destination for aged care and from the reports it was rated much higher than both the UK and Australia. For myself I couldn't imagine anything more horrifying than being dumped at Heathrow , mentally unaware of where I am and Knowing nobody. Suggest a care Home in Thailand.....Please.

Inferno bus in use for 54 years
I think the one aspect people are overlooking is the source of the fire, the LNG tanks. If fitted correctly they are only as dangerous as a tank of petrol but if they are installed by unskilled persons their potential for leaking in an accident is probable. I worked with LPG fitted cars and regular tank testing was mandatory, I wonder how long since the tanks were tested. All the above is just my speculation however I will never have a car fitted with gas here, I like living.

When Thai 'gangsters' move in next door...
And that is the last post from Bob....Being serious apart from making ones presence known it is highly dangerous to get involved in any domestic dispute. This warning can be applied to anywhere in the world not just Thailand. Years ago when I was younger and more stupid I tried stopping a "man" from beating a woman, after I stopped him I was attacked by the woman, I didn't stop her, I ran.

Police Raid Four Locations, Seize Over 3,000 Counterfeit Auto Parts Worth 5 Million Baht
I have just bought a pair of wireless headphones from Lazada, Sony branded box , Sony store and with a warranty for 450 Baht. They perform well and are comfortable, only problem is battery life not as claimed but is acceptable. I looked up the specifications on the Sony official site and noticed the price was 12,000 Baht....

Police Raid Four Locations, Seize Over 3,000 Counterfeit Auto Parts Worth 5 Million Baht
I was quoted Baht 1400 for one spark plug for my Ford Focus by the local main Ford Dealer, luckily they didn't have any in stock. Lazada had motocraft plugs, exact specification, for Baht 360 for four and my local parts store was 380 , obviously both Lazada and my well regarded store were selling fakes....or were they ?. Dealer profits on parts are extortion, Honda specifies only Honda parts and oils for their vehicles otherwise warranty claims may be voided.
