My mate went to UK Yesterday. No issues if you're a UK citizen or resident but only a couple of flights a week as of now...

...How about expats opinions ? We actually pay our way and generously provide for many Thai people during this crisis and ask only for some respect and consideration in return. A large percentage of Thais due to their illiteracy wouldn't be able to follow an opinion survey let alone answer it. Just lip service, sounds like they don't have a plan yet but we're originally scheduled to begin further relaxation of shutdowns on May 17th.
Maybe I was dreaming ....

A good friend just got here from Phrae yesterday by car and reports no issues. Only a couple of checkpoints and they rarely look up from their phones. It's fairly obvious the cops are thoroughly bored with the whole charade as well...put the window down, smile and wave but a crisp salute works better. They love the acknowledgement .

You can renew up to 45 days in advance of your expiration date per immigration. I spoke with them last week while doing my 90 day check in. Coming back visa exempt has always worked before they may even give you a hug .

Like my golf pro says following my last lesson, "I recommend you take two weeks off from golf...and then quit" !
It worked....much happier now..55
Thai airways will continue until they run out of brown envelopes I reckon.

Well getting out is really no problem if you have a car or decent motorbike. Been on several short road trips from Hua Hin and never been stopped. Typically a smile and a wave through at a checkpoint. I'm not talking about Pattaya or Phuket of course. Once you're out in the countryside people are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of noodle shops and local restaurants open and emergency food is always available at good ole 7 eleven. I carry emergency rations (beer and wine) in the event of native unrest....Enjoy the rest of the movie !

Hua Hin beaches never closed. Most hotels closed but several guest houses and Airbnb, Oyo are available. Many restaurants are open now as well. Come on down ...

Bang Saen beach has been and always be will be a filthy dump that's downwind and down current....there is no short term solution and has nothing whatsoever to do with being open or not. It's a south facing beach with prevailing winds and currents out of the south as well as Thai litter freaks. Put the out of work Thai people cleaning the beaches and roads for a fair wage....Radical concept I know...

Ive done several road trips since this foolishness started and it's been interesting navigating to available attractions and finding accomodations but they're available. I prefer to drive over being treated like an inmate...the airlines can pound sand ! No guts to stand up to the government. Flying is the most essential modern service ( look up the essential services act ) The government needs and relies on the airlines yet inhibits them. The concept of social distancing is absurd in any business and complete lunacy in an airport or airplane but hey the embassy officials have done it for years as they're so helpful behind their airlocks , security doors and bullet proof glass ..

Horribly mismanaged and too many fleet types for one thing. A380's ? Ya gotta be kidding 747,777,787, A350, 320 etc...The logistics and duplication of parts and spares is completely illogical and a logistical nightmare. Nothing is common between those fleet types. It seems they will order anything (some incentives may be involved). One fleet type that will operate efficiently on all routes albeit reduction in classes of service would greatly simplify maintenance planning, material and spares support , Crew training and qualification which is a huge expense in itself. Emirates is a classic example they are dumping the 380s as additional 777's arrive which will leave them with a single fleet type ( with variants ) but common crew and maintenance training saves hundreds of millions of dollars a year....

Social distancing with the Social Hostesses ( 1mm) is readily available if ya know what I mean ....yeah be nice to find some sanity somewhere out of here for a while the ignorance gene is highly contagious. I actually started to ride off wearing a mask and only a mask yesterday...

Most manufacturing in Alameda county had moved out 25 years ago. (Taxes and and government oversight). The Fremont plant is an old GM plant that was abandoned by GM 20+ years ago as The state of California taxed them out. Then Steven Jobs had it but moved production you know where...Tesla already has massive land holdings and a mega battery plant in nearby Northern Nevada and could readily relocate to the neighboring state given their tax incentives. I doubt he's just threatening.

Great recap but unlike the battle of Britain or the Blitz we have done nothing remarkable unlike our parents of the Greatest Generation. They all (the allies) contributed to the massive effort and were unified and had direction and conviction and they had pandemics and outbreaks as well but plodded along, nothing stopped.
So what have we done ? Nothing just stay home and people some how find that remarkable ? There won't be any stories of "hardship to recall" No rationing ,no going without anything for the bulk of the population. The biggest challenge we've been faced with is what to order from Grab food or from Lazada etc. We're a bunch of panzies just going with the flow led by power hungry Morons.
Spitfires ruled along the coast and over the channel while the Mustangs ruled across Europe escourting the bombers and fighting off the Luftwaffe. What are we fighting besides boredom ?
Now off to the beach the 2nd wave's coming !

It appears the virus is right on schedule...it's awe inspiring that they'll draft the recommendations on the 14th for implementation on the 17th....The four P's are in effect.

Thailand tourist arrivals may fall by as much as 65% in 2020 due to virus outbreak

So just how do the wizards expect tourists to get here. Let's see...it can't be by air unless they parachute in . It can't be by sea since the docks are closed. If the Marines storm the beaches they'll be severely embarrassed and fined.
Can't drive in since the borders are closed. Maybe walk across and get a Grab ? Tourism down 60 percent ? No I believe it's 100 percent Einstein....(please don't correct me as I'm surely dreaming)
Where do they find such mental Giants ? Gonna be a great day as I'm still shakin my head and laughing.....Surfs up but only in the pool !
