    My summary why I know this is troll thread:

    1.  No Thai wife allows small problem develop into huge problem and cause family embarrassment and thereafter danger to their health in Thailand (one meeting with school fine but then move child to other school if not successful meeting);

    2.  OP is Jewish but sends his child to Christian school;

    3.  One minute the OP going to pull kid from school the next minute not then says that he has a lot of parents that will follow him and kid to other school (2000% certain that's not going to happen as no one cares for his silly injustice);

    4.  Thread gone on to long for sake of a few thousand baht;

    5.  To much religion brought to thread as does not matter what religion when come to money

    5000% troll thread for certain.  My Thai wife kill me if I went on like this.

    I just love #2.

    I went looking for a cuckold forum here on ThaiVisa with no luck.  I can't help you with #1 but I can offer you some advice.

    I am the head of the house, not my Thai wife.  I'm the man, she's the woman. It's not only the natural order of things and it is exactly what she expects.  She is onboard with this concept.

    #3 I have been clear that I will explore new schools and likely move my son to a BETTER school.  While you may feel conspiracies abound, most parents would prefer to send their kids to a better school.  Had you carefully read anything I've written here, then you would know that I have discovered other parents who are not happy with the school in general.  I discovered this by talking to them.

    You got me on #5.  I'll have to lookup in the Physician's Desk Reference just how much religion is allowed in a thread before it becomes suspicious.  Money is a tough one, but I recall from my Jesuit Spirit in Action Classes, that Jesus was sold out for a handful of silver.  So money does have much to do with religion.  Just look for the passing of the plate to figure that out.

    I give you mad props for your deep thought applied to this issue.

    Do drop by again.

    So why you Jew and send to Christian school?  This is troll I'm sure.

    I'm a Jew with a Jesuit University Education.  So what?

    But you said they crossed the line with rip off on van trip.

    Religion has nothing to do with their overcharging me.  If they were true Christians, they wouldn't dare do it in the first place.

    How long you live in Thailand?  Not long I guess.  You seem green to me.  If I have problem then I just pay up and move on.  Cause trouble and you will have 10x trouble back.  Not worth it for the safety of your family and your health.  One dark night and from the shadows the trouble will get your sorry butt and then to late for you all and this topic will go very quiet.  Very quiet.

    Perhaps, if you look closely in those shadows, you might see me looking back at you.

    You've just given me the Thai myth of invincibility. Don't anger the Thai people, don't push back when they wrong you because they have special voodoo powers.

    C'mon.

    That's nonsense.

    I can foretell some serious trouble for you if you carry on like this, bro.  Being a Jew has nothing to do with it.  And I can tell you that I have seen the Thais get angry and serious hurt people on many occasions if you want to go down this route.  Your family will be in danger but you might have heart attack for stroke first, not sure which will happen first.

    Calm down and move on is my best advise.

    2

    It's good advice, but we will be taking our money with us.  In the end, it will cost them much more than they tried to steal from me.

    The Thai driver probably not a 7th Day Adventist.  You'll find out if he hits you with a wheel brace for causing big problem for Thai or gives your son trouble.  You should chill, bro.

    It is still not clear what stake the driver has in all of this.  I think my issue is with the school and ultimately it is whether or not the service is outsourced or not.  The school handbook clearly states that the school provides this service.  I thought I put a picture of the handbook in here this morning.  The driver didn't come up with that bullshit about being new, that had to have come from the headteacher.  So my beef is with the good Christians, those good moral Christians who run the school.

    And yet everyone tells me to move on.  Well, I am still being disrespected by a higher charge.  I suppose I should ignore that too?

  6. 2 minutes ago, GuiseppeD said:

    But you said you were pulling the boy out of school and going elsewhere.  You'll give yourself a heart attack with all this venom in your life.  Chill, bro.

    I said I am now looking at other schools.  It is likely I will move him as I am not impressed by the teaching, nor am I impressed by the communication between parents and school.  In more ways than one, they run this school like some third-world sh*$$hole.

    With that in mind, my son likes it there and he has friends, but some of those friend's parents have already made clear that if I find a better school they are ready to vote with their wallets as well.

    You see, as a Jew, I feel the need to teach the people at the school what morality and fairness look like.  While I may hurt them in the wallet by having others go with me, they will hopefully learn and seek solace in scripture while professing their sins to Jesus on Sunday.

  7. 2 minutes ago, GuiseppeD said:

    Calm down, man.  I read that you were pulling the boy out of school so why you need confrontation.  You might get hurt.

    Hurt?  I think not.  This is a Christian school, run by 7th Day Adventists.  I want to know from the director himself how it fits their handbook claiming the teaching of Christian morality.

    I have already asked the headteacher to explain to me if Christ would approve.  Crickets.

    Agreed it sounds ridiculous.  Would be nice to use the same logic on the school next year, when tuition will likely be higher.  "Oh please charge me last year's rates, as my kid is not a new student."

    Of course, it's ridiculous.  We don't give these people credit for being clever, but for being greedy, we give them lots of credit.  Would a Thai leave 10,000b extra a month for the service if the charge was legitimate at 3000b?  He or the school stand to make 1/3 more profit if they charge everyone 3000b since gasoline is expensive and they no longer use LP.

    But no, they are happy with 1000b more a month.  That seems to cover all their expenses.  Now what if I say F off and take him off the service?  Will they now run in the red?

  9. A bit more info.  I wrote that there is a bit of doubt who really runs the van service.  The school handbook says it is provided by the school.  When I enrolled him, I paid the school the total tuition including van service for what I thought was the entire year.

    They sent back two receipts, one official from the school for the tuition and one blank receipt for the van service.

    When I discovered I was being ripped off I called the school to raise some hell.  I finally got the "right hand" Philipino who does all the work between the Thais and Teachers (Head Teacher) and let him know.  He pretended to know nothing.  So off he goes to find the van driver/van owner/company owner.  But the vans have permanent paint on them for the school.  The school owns the vans.

    I had my wife call the driver.  When confronted with the discrepancy, he started whispering in Thai to someone else near him.  At the same time, I got a message from the head teacher telling me he went to find the van driver but my wife was already talking to him.

    The van driver had to pow-wow with someone else to come up with the NEW excuse, which leads me to believe it was the head teacher and the school is knee deep in this crap and they are trying to blame it on the van driver.

    Next, I get an offer of 2500 x 4 months, not 3000 because "your husband isn't happy so we will offer him a discount."

    I have asked the headteacher to put me in touch with the school director.  Crickets.  I'll have to make a trip out there and confront these bastards FACE to face.

  10. Jeez, with this attitude, Tony, you, a White Man, choose to live in the heart of. Asia.

    That's the problem. Ain't nothing to do with no bus driver or posh school. If you didn't get into this fight you'd have gotten into another. And you will get into many more trust me. Because Bangkok is full of them danged Asians.

    I'm not being facetious. I know a couple of guys who radiate this "I White man know better than you Asian" vibe and the reaction it elicits from the natives ranges from amusement to anger to, well, screw you I am going to make you pay 1000b. more each month.

    Tony, ma man, like I said before there are just too many danged Asian here in Bkk for you to win. I suggest you repatriate back to Farangland. The transformation in your health and temper will be immediate and miraculous. And schools are hekcuva lot better too.

    What you could do back home to get back at Asians for the slights you've endured here is periodically visit ethnic restaurants and  yell at the staff for no good reason.

    Yawn

    Taking kids out of schools can be traumatic, i.e. they make friends and are settled where they are, as long as you have covered all basis and your kid is ok with what you are planning, then go for it, and if you get the support of the other parents, you've done bloody well.

    Another option might be, if your kid only goes to 6th grade at that school and then has to go to another, you might want to bite the bullet, but your rage (rightfully so) might be bigger than you.

    All things aside, I hope you find what makes yawl happy at the end.

    I was already unhappy with several aspects of how the school functions.  My son's homeroom teacher has confided in me with his assessment of the school and it isn't kind. The school was already on my radar for termination.  I wasn't motivated enough to engage in actively looking, but this was the last straw.

  12. 3 minutes ago, 4MyEgo said:

    Don't expect any support from the other parents, they will probably look at you as a trouble maker, remember Asians accept what we westerners don't.

    Seek out the other schools, and then deliver the option to the school, loss of face to lose a student, or solve the problem with the driver, surely the school will see through this and would have control over the driver, i.e. drop the price or we may cancel you next year, i.e. if they have the balls

    Why did you assume the other parents are Asian?  They are not.  They come from Philippines, Italy, Spain, USA, GB, and all over the world.

    I'm not interested in solving the problem now.  I'm more interested in finding a better school for my son.  The other parents don't have a Thai wife, I do.  She can navigate the schools better than we can.  She can translate.

    The end result will be several children going to another school.

    go to the media and tell them how the schools contractor/driver has dual prices for farang kids.

    It's not about being foreign, it is more about not being Asian.

    Having to pay 1,000 baht per month extra per month would do my farken head in, just on principal, so there is another option you can take, i.e. pay 2,000 baht per month,

    Eventually, they would strand my son at school, or put him in danger.

    3 minutes ago, 4MyEgo said:

    maybe I have to take my son to another school.

    And that is going to be the end result.  I am contacting all the foreign parents, telling them what happened and asking them if they are happy with the school in general. I am fomenting a small insurrection.  I have now been motivated to look for a better school.  In the end, they will lose several students.  #&*$& the school.

    Well, what are you waiting for, Tony.  Get down there and give the whole story about the 1k baht.

    I reckon it will all be sorted out within half an hour and you'll be rebated instantly.

    Did any of you go to school?  There are 8 months in a school year.  I have been overcharged 8000b, not 1000b.  If that is little money to you, then I'll give you my banking details and feel free to transfer some baht into my account.

    I am not sure if you are pulling my leg. Is this true? And do they understand English to get the job done?

    I once lied to a bus driver about direction going out of an area. I thought it was fun but Bangkok being so huge I was unlucky to meet him again the next day. He said , "you lie to me yesterday". He is probably a new driver.

    True.  It's at the bottom of the stairs/escalator near Immigration's entrance.  I never went in, but it is staffed.
