As an American I can say that what happened in Vietnam and Cambodia, was not our proudest moment. To this day, the US is still living the nightmare of the atrocity it committed in this region. And for what? The fight against communism? Did anyone really think we could beat the Vietnamese, in guerrilla warfare, that took place in their own jungles? It was a war based on hubris, disinformation, profiteering, defense industry lobbying, Johnson's misguided notions, and McNamara's insane illusions. He spoke of that in the Fog of War, and more or less admitted what a mistake the entire campaign was.
At least Thailand benefitted from it. At least something decent came out of it all. As an American, I can say that the Vietnam war, is one of the most shameful events to take place in my lifetime. Frankly, I am not sure if the US has been engaged in a single "righteous" war since WWII.
That is the question. No veteran, no one from that time, can tell me why we (The USA) was involved in Vietnam and Laos. No one can answer that question.

Today Saphan Quai says 250.
The airport monitor is about the same.

Of course, we have. Just ask the Iraquis or the Japanese.

Thank-you bkk6060, I have to go to immigration tomorrow and do my 90 day report so I will check him out.
Why on God's Green Earth (forget them little green apples) would you need a notary to do a 90-day report?

Ok Is it legal in Thailand?
Again, you ask the wrong question.
Is it illegal?
My guess would be yes.

You have it backward. You are not allowed by law to do anything. Laws prohibit you from doing something, they don't empower you. Rights empower you and there is a difference between a right and a law.

The question is wrong. It should be, where is not illegal to stalk someone.

From my Condo in Chatuchak, I can see several major highways including Ratchada where the current extension to the SkyTrain is being constructed.
I can assure you that visually, Sundays are not busy at all. There seems not to be a correlation between traffic and pollution in this area.

Can explain the Chok Chai as directly due to Skyway construction - it is on Latphao Road and that is almost a parking lot most days due blocked lanes.
The traffic on Sundays is negligible. Yet the pollution gets high. It's not the cars. If not the cars, then what is it?

I've noticed the Saphan Kwai sensor readings often have been VERY HIGH in the past week, and often much higher than any other individual sensor on the AQI.cn map for BKK. Not sure why that's the case. Either the sensor is out of whack, or there's something going on in the vicinity of that particular sensor that's driving very high readings.
The sensor near Don Mueang agrees with it. I am curious too, why this area seems more polluted than the rest of Bangkok. There are, lots of highways in this area. With that said, I have seen the pollution high on a Sunday when the roads are barely used.

But we are not talking about one - when there are many they indeed cause visible effects.

I measure this visually as a pilot by how far I can see, or the visibility. I wake up early to find the visibility no more than 1.5 miles some days. It seems to get better as the day progresses and then at night it builds again to a higher level.
Is the 2.5 usually seen by itself or in conjunction with other pollutants?
The 11 AM readings are now predictably getting lower.

I was thinking it was much clearer today as during dog walk could easily see the moon and did not appear to be anything in sky over Latphao at 0700 today. But looking are readings find 152 at Chok Chai so all is not as it seems it seems.

I can actually see the Baiyoke Tower from the BTS admin building at Mo Chit, some days it's so thick you can barely see the far end of the depot.
You can't see the 2.5-micron
particles.

Hey mods, you'll notice multiple pictures, even though your software told me each one failed.

I just woke up. Even though I only run air-conditioning in the bedroom at night, I never turn off my air purifier in my main condo room. I let them run now 24/7.
This is enough to get me to leave Bangkok. I can exercise safely outdoor but I have to walk through this pollution soup to do it.
The question, is where to move? Phuket? Can I find a decent English curriculum school that won't break the bank for my 12-year-old boy? How do I send him to school on the 3rd if the numbers are so high? To me, it seems that the only safe place in Thailand is one surrounded by water.

In cases such as this where the item is so small, you could order these from Amazon in the states and have them shipped here and pay duty and still get them cheaperI got some bose with noise canceling. For me its worth it but it all depends on how much you use them and what it is worth to you.
I got the bose cq30 and I think they are great. Use them for exercise (dont seem to mind the sweating and computer work and pair them to my TV)

There's mention of some kind of apostille agreement which is part of the Hague but I looked through the document on my phone and I don't see an agreement with Thailand which would allow for documents to be notarized locally but still be accepted in the United States. Does anybody know differently?

I bought a Siberian Husky before my son was born. It wouldn't matter what he did to that dog, the dog would never have responded aggressively. One wonders why there isn't a modern variant of village justice applied to the dog owner.

That was ever so helpful ......
Breakfast doesn't describe what the Brits do Eggs and Bacon. So whose Christmas Dinner are they serving? I'll ask again, what do they serve?

In general, no, they are not legally authorized to notarize outside of the State, never mind the USA. Notaries are licensed by the State they reside in, and most of the notary requirements state they can only notarize while physically in the state. This topic has come up before.
I'd be willing to bet, that a DC notary could notarize documents in the Embassy. This brings up a good question if what you say is accurate, how is the notary in the embassy lawfully providing notary services?
AQI 235 Near Don Mueng - is it enough to get you to move out of Bangkok?
