Little bit update on my TOT sim.
Very good coverage where I live but I lose signal sometimes in middle of Pattaya.
Seems it connects only to 4G+.
Never get 3G, it just disconnects.

From the article you posted : Although fully vaccinated people were less likely to contract an infection, when they did — what’s known as a breakthrough infection — they can transmit the Delta variant at a similar level as unvaccinated people.

On Samui all songthaew consider themselves as taxis.

You would need more than that to be allowed to be on your way. Or the cells and the judge next day.
Two foreign friend spent night in jail went to court next day (separate occasions)
Judge fined them 3000 baht minus 200 baht for spending night in jail.
License suspended for six months so they had to drive car instead.
Only MC license suspended, not the car license.

in 1990's when I worked at a western show in Sweden we always took the horse when we went out drinking at a lake out in the forest, they always found home to the stable.

Foreigners are preferred
Good to know.
On Samui they actually took all drunks to court, much more hassle with foreigners for a mere 3000 baht fine.

I'm new in Pattaya how does it work here. (Samui in parenthesis)
Do they target foreigners? (Thais only, unless you try to avoid them)
Do they have the same spots every time? (outside the police station)
Cars , MC or both. (No parking for cars, so only MC)

If they open the bars people would not have to sit in the cars and drink.

They probably actually shaved their head to be a monk for a while for their deceased relative.
My two BIL shaved their heads for the funeral of my FIL .
No time to be monk, harvest time.

Full vaccination plus a covid test before departure should be sufficient.
Tests before departure is worthless as there is no accrediting body, anyone can write a certificate.
In Sweden a company got caught in june issuing 100.000 certificates without testing the samples , just pocketing the money (300 Mbaht)

I doubt any of them were expats based on how they were dressed. They all looked like tourists and most of them looked like sexpats.
It's people from Pattaya that's gone to Bangkok because of the Pattaya alcohol ban.

What's the minimum period that insurance is sold for.
I have read of 14 day insurance. Think @PoorSucker purchased that (not sure)
I ask since I will purchase the minimum and be stamped in for 11 months as per my reentry permit.
Can confirm, but this was for the 14 days sandbox a couple of months ago, I also needed a ticket out after 14 days.
Got stamped in for 90 days as per my non-B visa.

Don't worry, many ladies love the look.
In Thailand it's common for men to shave their head when close relative dies.
Not to mention monkhood.

Lol! I'm in the states and had a few beers and some of Colorado's finest gummy candy and I watched this video for about 10 minutes before I realized that's all there was.
The promotion pic shows how it should look like Before Corona and the video shows the truth.
Think it's the best explanation of the current situation.
At least the beach is not crowded.
