  1. There is no restriction on the number of times you can enter the country by air using visa exempt entry. 4 back to backs visa exempt entries at land crossing would however trigger a report to immigration for investigation.

Hey Thaiphoon thanks for the quick reply!

What do you mean when you say visa exempt entry?

That what you called "Visa on arrival" in your post.

This is wrong terminology, you have gotten "visa exempt stamps".

"Visa on arrival is only for some nationalities and only gives 15 days.

    The countries are:

    1. Bhutan : Kingdom of Bhutan

    2. China : People’s Republic of China

    3. Cyprus : Republic of Cyprus

    4. Czech : Czech Republic

    5. Estonia : Republic of Estonia

    6. Hungary : Republic of Hungary

    7. India : Republic of India

    8. Kazakhstan : Republic of Kazakhstan

    9. Latvia : Republic of Latvia

    10. Liechtenstein : Principality of Liechtenstein

    11. Lithuania : Republic of Lithuania

  2. Simple, buy a existing "holding company".

If you make a new one you can not get extension of stay until the company is two years old.

Should cost you about 40.000 baht. (20.000 baht for owner ,rest for lawyer and tea money)

This is the about the cost to un-register a company in Thailand.

Just make a proper audit that the company does not have any outstanding debts.

Still you must employee four Thai National (2 if married to Thai) to get your Work permit..

Here is the rules for getting a Non-B (business) visa.

This does not include the rules how the get a work permit.

Source : Ministry of foreign affairs.

Here's also some info from Ministry of labour.

    PS.

There is a lot of software engineers trying to "do the thing from here" 98% website loosers.

I have a degree both from Sweden and Minnesota in Comp Sc and 16 years experience, and it's still hard.

  3. I did not know until today there was even a fire truck on Samui, as I was coming out of Nanton about 2 pm, there was a small fire truck speeding along, ..... fortunately not much traffic at the time... & what traffic there was, people did actually pull over... (they usually don't if it's an ambulance, I find that amazing).

Is this the only fire truck on the island? A fire would well have taken hold, with a long trip like that...

I too add wishes to the owner's full recovery ....

They have a fire station in Chaweng next to the police station.

  4. Every time you fly into Thailand you will get a visa exempt stamp for 30 days.

Crossing a land border will only get you 15 days.

When you come back fist time from Myanmar (Kentung), do you intend to use a land border?

In that case you should get a double entry tourist visa from your nearest consulate.

You could get away with a single entry and try to get a visa exempt stamp in the first entry.

But some immigration officers are grumpy and they might insist to stamp your visa so better get a double entry.

Also the airline might refuse you to board the plane if you don't have a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days or a proper visa.
