  1. Whats wrong with you guys? Rory will be OK. I'm more worried about the local situation at Phoenix Golf Club Pattaya where the prices have gone through the roof and the other courses will surely follow if they see it succeeding.

  2. I have the Chevrolet Captiva and according to its own computer I got 11.4 kilometres with 95 and with E85 I get10.1 kilometres. That seems to me a difference over a little over 10%. The difference in price is closer to 90% difference. I find E85 far more economical than even E20. The figures I see quoted around of 20-30% less mileage are rubbish.

  3. Does anyone know why the 2 Petrol suppliers - PTT and Bangchak - do not provide at least one pump with E85 at their Pattaya and Sattahip stations. With the number of cars on the road that can use E85, one would think the afore mentioned stations with all the talk of "Green Motoring" would have provided same. I am also curious why the other branded stations do not sell E85 at all.

  4. "Glad to be of help. I will be asking the same question re golf in Pattaya shortly, as I have not stayed there and wish to go over on a golfing trip for about 10 days, so any info re where to stay and what you consider to be the best courses to play would be most appreciated."

Will you have your own transport?

Do you like to be in the thick of things or prefer quiet location?

Would you prefer to play with a group or you will have your own group?

Look at the Pattaya Sports Club site (www.pattayasports.org) as joining this club (Baht 400 for 1 year, I think) gives you reduced rates at most of the surrounding courses and pays for itself within 2-3 games.

  5. I would like to know if anyone has played 4 courses over 4 days in Kanchanaburi with a 3 night stay ( in different accomodation presumably) and if so, which are:

    1. Best courses around Kanchanaburi.

    2. Best accomodation ( Clean + Reasonable) to suit.

    Thanx in advance.

  6. My friend and I will be visiting Phuket for 4 days of golf in March and in checking costs with various golf clubs around Phuket. As they are on the high side I was wondering if there was a scheme in Phuket similiar to Pattaya for discounted golf with different courses.

    Thanks in advance

You might try calling the Pattaya Sports Club and see if they know anybody that wants to sell a membership. Just talk to the admin people. Perhaps the club president will know somebody wanting to sell a membership.

    Telephone number is...038-361-167
