  1. Thanks for your comments. I went to a law company near Nana BTS. They said that they could notarise it for me as they have a notary there. They also said that it shouldn't be a problem legalizing it at the Thai Ministry of Foreign affairs on Chaengwattana Rd. However, 20 minutes upon arrival, They phoned the Ministry of Foreign affairs and they said that they would not legalise it. They considered it a document for personal use, and they would only deal with business/company related issues. They told me to contact the British Embassy in Bangkok. The British Embassy said that they do not legalise power of attorney documents. I am stuck in Limbo.

  2. I am a British National & Citizen living and working in Bangkok, Thailand. I require a Power of Attorney document to be notarised , drafted and legalised. The land is located in another country (Mauritius). Since Thailand is NOT part of the Hague Convention, I will need assistance/advice on legalising the document once it has been notarized so that it is legally recognized in Mauritius.

    Any advice?

  3. California wow in Pinklao is closed and members are flooding into Fitness First opposite. This means that less machines are available. My membership with Fitness First will expire soon. I am not sure what other options I have less. I read on the fitness first monthly brochure yesterday that they are planning to simplify the membership process and having ONE price giving 'passport memberships' which allow access to multiple fitness first branches instead of just one gym. This mean, single branch memberships will no longer exist. I assume this means that membership prices will shoot up now that their competitor has been eliminated. I am not sure when they will implement this ONE membership for multiple branch access thing. Has anyone applied for membership at fitness first recently? I want to know how much they are charging now. My membership runs out on 30th September 2012

  4. I agree with Newcomer01, Keep it simple. I am not sure which tablet u r using but I am sure you would be able to find something like powerpoint or a free alternative. I use powerpoint on my netbook with pictures which I get from google images and make my own electronic flashcards. I know of a company called Declan which allows you to make your own flashcards but it's not free. You can even share flashcards with other Declan users and download flashcards too. To be honest, I don't see anything wrong with making your own and they seem to work well for me.

  5. I am using genuine windows starter on my netbook. There seem to be windows updates available every single day which takes time to install. However, everytime I download and install them, the computer creates a restore point. To me, the purpose of a restore point is in case something goes wrong with your computer e.g if the updates cause your system to crash. This implies that the updates themselves which are supposed to help fix errors, can in fact cause the errors! Would I be right in saying this? So my question is , how do I decide which updates to install? Do restore points take up a lot of space? I imagine that if I install updates on a daily basis, these restore points would quickly take up tons of space on my hard drive. What advice do you have?

  6. I installed microsoft security essentials yesterday . I have genuine Windows 7 starter edition. It won't let me install in in English. It gets installed in Thai even though I selected 'English' from the dropdown menu before installing.

How do I get it to install in English?

  7. Has anyone used windows 7 starter on a netbook with an atom processor? If so, what are your experiences? I need something portable for doing powerpoints and typing word documents. Does it run well or is it slow? Also I wanna know if it is compatible with Microsoft Security Essentials, the free antivirus for microsoft windows.

  8. How long did it take the first time and what documents did you use then?

i did it in another province and it took half a day. I had to do a driving test and multiple choice test. I used my housing registration document and passport.

  9. I am a new member of fitness first at the bangkae branch which allows me to also use the pinklao branch. Has anyone gotten an extension on their membership as a result of the floods? I have been a member since October 7th 2011.

  10. I am using a PRS-600 sony ebook reader which is not available in Thailand so it is almost impossible to get a charger for it. However I have read on various forums that the Sony PSP charger is compatible with this device. Where can I get a cheap PSP charger in Bangkok?

  11. What use are the smartpurse cards used in 7 eleven? They sell for around 190 baht and as far as I know can be topped up and used in 7 eleven to purchase goods. Can they only be used in 7-eleven?

  12. Hi I am living in the western part of Bangkok in Talingchan district near the southern bus terminal. Does anyone know if there are any Catholic churches in my area? Ideally it should be in English BUT Thai mass is OK as I am bilingual

    Thanks.
