  1. On that occasion Trump was correct. Well, you know what they say about broken clocks. However it doesn't change the fact that Putin has forced Russia to be China's bitc.... junior partner in world affairs, and ending support for Ukraine isn't going to change that. It will just embolden Russia and China to further intimidate neighbors and grab territory when it suits them.
  2. Ok, I'll bite. What science have you studied and practiced? What are your degrees? What have you published? In other words, what are your scientific credentials that make your opinions any more credible than the rest of us? I'm taking a break. I'll be back in a few hours to see if you answer.
  3. Because it is not the US military doing the fighting. Because it is Putin who threatened to use fossil fuel exports as a weapon against Europe, driving Europe to find other sources and leaving Putin looking for other customers. Putin drove Russia "into the hand of the Chinese". And Russia is now stuck there. Letting Putin have chunks of Ukraine (and other countries when the urge strikes him) will not restore faith in Russia as a reliable exporter of energy. Europe isn't so stupid as to become dependent on Russia again. At least not for a while.
  4. Right. It's not like hospitals were overwhelmed, morgues overflowing, healthcare workers (the ones who stayed healthy) worked to exhaustion and death rates skyrocketed.... Oh wait, they did.
  5. Freedom of speech has never been absolute. You can not indicate you have a gun and tell someone "Your money or your life" and you can't announce you are going after those who are prosecuting you and have your minions publish contact information of those involved in the prosecution. I believe most trials by jury require jurors be agreed upon by both the defense and prosecution, so your insistence on selection by party is just an attempt to politicize the justice system.
  6. So Sydney Powell is also a Qanon believer. She is clearly an idiot, but some people find her to be a useful idiot.
  7. "Man's contribution to the climate on Earth is insignificant." Then why have CO2 levels increased 50% since the start of the industrial revolution? https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/climate-change-atmospheric-carbon-dioxide
  8. "Fighting Russia drives it into the hands of the Chinese." He's either an idiot or a stooge. We are not fighting Russia, we are helping Ukraine fight a Russian invasion. Letting Russia get away with its land grab in Ukraine lets Russia and China know they can do more of the same. Putin's rule has turned Russia into a backwards petro-state that will continue to be dependent on China regardless of the outcome of the war.
  9. Looks like Republicans have already made up their minds that Hunter is guilty and are frustrated by their inability to find evidence of a major crime. Worse still, they can't connect President Biden to anything illegal. Rather than accept that there is nothing there, they choose to believe in a deep state conspiracy. I'm not surprised.
  10. ChatGPT can not be biased. The data fed to it can be. People using it should be aware of that. With that in mind; what's your point? If it is that people should take ChatGPT answers with a grain of salt, I agree. ChatGPT is a useful tool; something you can use to ask for Christmas gift ideas, a new recipe, an idea for a vacation. Companies will use it to come up with marketing campaigns, Amazon almost certainly uses something similar for purchase suggestions. However anyone who thinks ChatGPT can answer the great questions of life is a fool. Also, if you constantly find every answer you get is biased, maybe it's not the program that is biased.
  11. I think it far more likely that there are more credible "even-handed skeptical" scientific reports in reputable journals that support climate change than credible "even-handed skeptical" scientific reports that deny it.
  12. Brain, please. If all that information ceased to exist after it was censored from Facebook, how do you know it ever existed? Or did you read about what Facebook was required to censor on the uncensored internet? If that is so, then the internet isn't censored, is it?
  13. You seem to be oblivious to the fact that my point was that nobody controls the entire internet. Or perhaps you are trying to deflect. Do you really think that somebody controls the entire internet, and therefore the inputs used by LLM AI?
  14. That suggests that there is far more information regarding the validity of climate change on the internet than climate change denial.
  15. Wow, what an amazing lack of comprehension. Why don't you give a specific example of Facebook censorship and explain how that translates to somebody controlling the entire internet?
  16. AI doesn't think. It doesn't have consciousness. It doesn't "mature" in any biological or sentient manner. Try reading my earlier post. I think I did a reasonable job of providing a dumbed down description of how LLM AI works. Perhaps it's still above some people's heads.
  17. Do you think Facebook is the internet? Do you think the information removed is gone forever and will never again appear on the internet? Nobody controls the entire internet. Countless parts of the internet are under partial control, but even there the parts and those that control them are so dispersed and have such contrasting objectives as to negate any overall impact of these attempts at control.
  18. Right, that's why when something is removed from the internet it's gone forever and can never be found again. Oh, it's the opposite of that, isn't it?
