  1. Especially as at least one (local) person on this forum says he has been out and back three times already this year.
  2. And the brewery pockets the difference. Reduced alcohol content but no reduction in price to the consumer.
  3. Same here in Spain. No masks. I understand that the population of cities in most Asian countries wear masks due to the air pollution.
  4. And they'll do their training in Pattaya where there is currently no atmosphere.
  5. They did, I think it was called a departure tax. Eventually, instead of paying the tax in cash at the airport prior to departu,it was added to the price if your airline ticket and remains so to this day.
  6. Many thanks for the info. I'll check them out when I return.
  7. When I (eventually) return to Thailand, I am hoping to replenish my wardrobe (closet) with bespoke clothing, suits, shirts, shorts etc.. Thanks to covid, I have managed to reduce my bulk by 17.5 kg (+/-40lb) and as a consequence none of my clothes fit me. My question to members is "are Thailand tailors good value for money". I have purchased clothes in the past and my view is you get what you pay for. I.e. if you buy a $99 suit, it'll look like a $99 suit. Have things changed?
  8. Probably because it is not 1st May. Previously nothing changed on the website until the effective date.
  9. They don't want to give up their stranglehold until after the election. Looks like I'll continue spending my 'holiday' funds on Spain's sunny Costa Del Sol.
  10. As I read the article, it does state that the doormen caused the trouble. There was no indication of confrontation.
  11. Same here, that's why I'm enjoying the south of Spain instead of Thailand. The only requirement here is to complete a Passenger Locator Form online 48 hoirs before leaving and you need to wear masks inside public buildings.
  12. At the market today in Spain I bought 1kg avocado €1.00, 2kg mixed Chilli (peppers) €1.30, 1kg vine tomatoes €1.30. A bottle of Rioja wine €3.00.
  13. Correct, especially with the Russian Rouble nose diving. The purchasing power will halve. No more cheap condos.
