  1. For anyone who's interested in using more data at their top speed. Go to line pay and click the ais logo. In there they give you the option to buy 100gb for 300 baht with a validity of 30 days including tax, sometimes I use x2 of these in a month but if you get their top package, top speed and unlimited data through ais it's about 1600 with tax! The point I'm making is 200gb for 600baht for their top speed is basically like unlimited at top speed for the month, even if you used x3, 300gb data download @900baht it's still way cheaper. Well worth a look of you use more and need a decent speed. Also if you need another 100gb you don't need to wait until the 30days is up, you can just purchase another 100gb package. Only ever not been available once in the year I've been doing this because allocation has been filled but there is a lot available. You also have the option for 75 or 50gb for half and a quarter of that price respectively but they also last for less time. I normally do 100gb every 2 weeks.

    Tobbaco

Email these guys in Bangkok. I was in Isaan lately and you've as much chance of getting golden Virginia as finding hens teeth. Lady was very helpful, give your order by I think 2 or 3 pm and dispatched same day, arrives 1-2 days later. They have every type of tobbaco, rolling, pipe, cigs plus all paraphernalia. 60 baht delivery anywhere in Thailand. They take a photo with your order before dispatch so can check. Couldn't recommend them enough and so easy. Just place your order when you're a couple of days from empty. https://thesessionbangkok.com/
  3. Try one if these or similar, you can clip it to the bedside table or bed. Pretty sure they wouldn't be too powerful plus you can place it where suites best like the top of the headboard overhead. Either way you could probably return it, but it's cheap enough to keep anyway and use for maybe a desk fan if not. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.qOHkA
  4. I've had an Ektorp 3 seater and armchair from IKEA for about 6 years and it's worn very well. I'm not a small guy either but it's very comfortable. I got it from the Bangna branch which was huge and had a good range there. Also has the added advantage of changeable washable covers. Not for everyone and I understand your brief but maybe worth a look if you're near there.
  5. Yes 100% yearly extensions are totally different hence the faf until he can tell them I'm his dad. The guy did say it would be soon though as I already spoke with him about that. Fingers crossed they might do it for me early next year.
  6. No worries I've extended 3 times already. The guys at Kalasin Imm are real nice. One time my son was sick as he normally needs to come to with his mum but they said don't worry we will sort it out for you (no "extras" involved)
  7. I'm in the same position as you, I have done the non o 90 from Savannakhet since last year and the online appointments are a ball ache. I did get one but it was for last Friday meaning a 6 day stay with the King's holiday plus the weekend. I scrapped that idea as I'm sure that's the only reason I actually got that appointment as the new ones get grabbed as soon as they are released but the visa run companies no maaltter if you're refreshing the page at midnight or not. Plus spending 6 days there is not my idea of fun. Anyway I've just done a border bounce to Cambo, Ban Pakkad. The visa fee is 1400 baht but if you want to go out and back same day it's 2700 which I'm told is no issue. I decided as I hadn't been there before to stay the night in one of the casinos and with the hotel, food ect it came to about the same price. Morning crossing was a breeze, filled out tm6 🤣, went to Thai Imm window, brief look through the many non o stamps I've had, stamped my passport and I was off with a khrap. I'm thinking I will use them until I get legitimized as my sons dad then I will do the yearly extension route. I haven't done this yet as I can't be bothered going through the courts nonsense and when he's a little older he can say I'm his dad at the Amphoe and I don't need to do this. This stamp will take me through till January 2025 with the 30 extension plus the 60 to visit him. Next year I'll do the 2 border bounces with extensions plus the extra 60 to visit him for each one which will give me 10 months by which time I will be able to get the yearly and for now I don't mind traveling about as I haven't seen much of the neighboring countries yet and I'll tie it in with a trip to them.
  8. Thank you for the reply, I'm pretty certain that the reason why you where able to get that one on the Friday and why it's still available right now is that it would require a 6 day stay in Savannakhet due to the now 3 working day processing time, the weekend and the Thai holiday on the Monday. You did actually help me because I stopped looking at the site but I've taken it and I'm going to do some exploring about up north for a few days. To much unknown for my visa at HCMC and still haven't had a reply from them. Cheers If anyone else reads this post and has an alternative for Savannakhet for non o 90 day parent and has requirements I would be grateful.
  9. Hi, Long time follower, first post as I try to help myself wherever possible. I've searched using Google with AN and this site but no luck. As the title suggests I'm planning to use the consulate at hcmc for a non o 90 day parent of a Thai child. Just wondering if anyone has done this recently? I was using Savannakhet but now it's impossible to get an appointment since the change in policy but I've checked on HCMC booking site and there seems to be plenty of vacancies. Having not been used to showing any financial statements at Savannakhet for this type of visa what they are looking for exactly as the consulate website doesn't give this information? It just states "Applicant’s financial statement of adequate finance is required" I remember reading once on a post from Ubon Joe that the non o 90 days needed the 20k proof and 3 months bank statements. Also they mention needing a certified copy of the house registration book entry for my son. Again not needing to be certified at Savannakhet where would I get this done, at the local office? Savannakhet also required a copy of the mothers ID card and her entry in the house book but nether needed to be certified, only signed. (does HCMC require these 2 items also and do they need to be certified as stated for the marriage non o?) I'm also looking for any other viable options to Savannakhet or people that have changed their consulate due to the necessary appointment booking at Savannakhet and the visa firms swallowing up all the appointments. I'm only using HCMC as I haven't been to Vietnam before but I'm open to suggestions for this visa type. Thanks in advance for any help.
  10. Hi, could you tell me which company this is please.
  11. 100% agree with you in the fact that I would just say OK not possible and thank you for the information. Meanwhile I would then register online as I did and many others have done and not mention it to im. Especially as I don't believe they told you they wouldn't accept an online version. This would be a different matter completely. I'm definitely not here to antagonise io's and I wouldn't think of arguing with them especially in the office as we all know how that would go. Normally most info can be found on here or online. I would always prefer to gain info by myself.
  12. Yes you can register as a tenant no problem as others have reported before. It differentiates between the person registering and the Tennant. You as a tenant can register and then add your landlord as the property owner with the address. Literally done it a couple of weeks ago. Just need passport, rental agreement from your side to register in the system then landlord ID and house book copy from them to register the address. I got all the info from a previous thread. Just make sure you download a copy of the new TM30 as soon as it's done (there is now an update where you can download rather than a screen print) as I believe it only stays in the system to download for 7 days. Also with all due respect we all know that you can speak to 2 or 3 different im officers and get 2,3 even 4 different answers so they are not always correct.
  13. Yes they are still issuing non o 90 day single entry for parent/marriage without financial proof. I was there last week. Also I was not asked about the 10/20k at the border. Still very easy to get this type of visa, for now at least.
  14. I got a non o 90 day parent of Thai child last week and mother didn't need to be present. Only time she needed to be there is when I extended inside Thailand. No surprises and all docs needed on their website where correct. Only thing I would do differently next time is pay the 500 baht to get to the front of the queue. But to be honest I'll probably try a different embassy next time as there is sweet f a to do in Savannakhet.
  15. It's perfect, they'll never have to admit loss of face or what they've done and just carry on regardless come Jan 1st.
