No more beach chairs? No more beer and a foot massage by the beach? No more visits to Jomtien Beach then.

5kms of that and more. What are you complaining about? Silly comment - we're talking about the last km or so. Will they do the rest of Jomtien beach? No idea, but all your needs are still catered for. So a childish reaction not to visit anymore.

Read the story again they don't basically pull people from department stores, offices to make a show of force.  ????

They widen the beach brought in tons of new sand but it is actually worse in my opinion no one uses it, the water now is too far from the road no where to sit no shade it was better before.

Better before? Well, there was nothing there before. Road, footpath, a 1.5m drop over some rocks, the tide. End of.

No vendors, and I don't go there. The beauty of Jomtien beach has been that you rent a chair for the day and have all the food and drinks you want by just waving a hand in the air. The perfect relaxation. I have never seen the vendors there as a nuisance.

You have that all along the beach, 5km of it. Why do you NEED it on the last km as well?

Once again ridiculous, laughing stock, flip flop, stupid decision.

What is wrong with these people in charge?

Wasn't it two weeks ago when Aseannow reported this beach food market being touted as a new tourist attraction. With possibilities for local people to make some income.

Wonder why people here keep so calm. In other countries they would have chased the officials and burned down the town hall...

There are enough such markets and "attractions already. Vendors can't self-manage as to rubbish removal and general cleanliness. Road congestion - don't forget, Thais like to drive everywhere, walking a few paces is frowned upon. That's why they already destroyed the tranquillity of Dongtan by opening that stretch to traffic, turning it into an exhaust fume polluted parking zone. Na Jomtien beachfront road is a major access to many hotels and residential houses and condos - this will only increase with all the new developments, slowly destroying the old Na Jomtien. The footpath, narrow as it is, is increasingly blocked by carts, all greasy, forcing pedestrians and joggers into the road and passing traffic. Bad town planning, but turning this beach into another food market is a bad option. If you want the dining on the beach experience, drive a little further south and there are great restaurants tucked away und larger trees, away from all vehicular through-traffic.

What kind of "agreement" was it, and why would the father be "going to the media" to have it enforced? Why isn't he going to the police or to court? The article says it was done in conjunction with the police. If so, then the "agreement" must have some legal validity and can be enforced. If it is a legal agreement and the owner of the dogs refused to honor it, he could have his bank accounts and property seized to pay it off, and yes, he could be sent to jail.

As for the incident, I read that son was fishing, which is attempting to hook fish in their mouths, drag them through the water, stick a rope through their mouth and out their gills, and leave them floundering around in the water in an attempt to keep them alive so they can then have their bellies slit open, their organs removed, and finally left to die.

So, I don't have a lot of sympathy for the son being attacked by some dogs.

Classic case of whataboutism. So how does your fishing assessment help in this case? It doesn't. Your statement speaks of lack of intellect on your part, and, for want of a better word, ignorance and stupidity.

I don't buy Russian anything. Sorry.

Luckily, Russia accounts for a pathetic 3% of global GDP which makes it largely irrelevant for most countries.

Germany, i believe, has at least one year of gas reserves and I would think they are making alternative arrangements as i type.

As for the rest of your incoherent rant, i think you should stick to ????'s.

I know there are some kinky people on this forum but you wanting me to take a selfie of myself with my gas bill must be in a league of it's own.

    You brut.

Russia was once referred to by US Senator McCain as a "gas station masquerading as a country". Too true.

So many, many wonderful plans over the years to attract tourists. I wonder if you looked at all the plans of the last 5 years, how many of those would have had actual results?

Land of Smirk: Hub of Plans. Meanwhile, they can't even plan how to build a footpath or install drainage pipes with a decent timeline and actual conclusion of all works.

  8. Looks like another Chinese party house ghetto in the making. With a few Indians and Saudis thrown in for good measure ....... Golf-based developments seem so yesterday 80's type of p[roject. Who plays golf these days? All the golf courses in Queensland / Australia are being sold off, carved up, subdivided and solf off as normal residential real estate. The golf boom ended years ago, Japanese no longer coming. Must be quite exciting to wair for 300 plus plots being sold ....... a construction site for years to come, by the time the last plot has been built up the golf course is ready to provide for more land ....lol. TIT.

Saudi youth will be all over the girls in Bangla like white on rice.

The were just starting to invade pre covid.

Abhorrent creatures.  Dressed like Ali G and absolute no decorum whatsoever.

Absolutely disgusting, those Saudi Arabs. Good luck to the girls surviving their onslaught. Welcoming the Saudis really does show what the backbone of Thai tourism is: prostitution. Saudis are not beach goers, they are not interested in culture and temples, bush walking, etc. It's drinking, shopping, misbehaving and running wild (not possible at home) -  and cheap sex (not necessarily in that order).
