Do you seriously believe Erdogans retoric only impact his domestic audience? Do you follow any news channels from middle east and other channels that is not just western oriented? How middle east, Africa, South America also Asian countries look at the west and the later history? His retoric hits exactly where it intended to reach. He wants a role in international politics, and he is succeeding! It is a game with bigger stakes than just his domestic voters!

Turkey have been the ball in the game many times during the history. Quite large player actually and strategic placed since Alexander The Great and during the Roman Empire, Istanbul was their Capital for a millennium.

“We will eventually teach the arrogant Westerners that insulting Muslims is not freedom of thought,” Erdogan said in televised remarks. https://www.google.com/amp/s/english.alarabiya.net/amp/News/middle-east/2023/06/29/Erdogan-slams-Sweden-Over-Quran-Burning-Impact-on-NATO-Membership

Im sorry to say, Erdogans trump card is religion, same as Trump wouldnt won without the religious on his side his first term he served. And it have been quite alot in the media during Erdogans time as prime minister, especially lately now during Sweedens application, so they care enough to make a point out of it. Google Erdogan plays the religious card https://www.google.com/search?q=erdogan+playing+the+religious+card&oq=&aqs=chrome.2.69i58j46i67i308i362i524i650j35i39i362i524l13.-1j0j9&client=ms-android-oneplus-rvo3&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

Okay, so Erdogan do not play his religion card against europe, and also lately when they burned the Quran several times in Sweeden?

I completely see the strategy behind it, but the bigger EU grows, the more fragile it will be during bad times, as we know history from earlier experiments with unions across faith and culture.

We will regret our partnership with Turkey!

Real estate comes to mind, and those who was involved in a bigger scandal in Koh Samui was? I wouldnt bet my money that foreign motorbike clubs where foreigners was role playing crimes was on top of the list! My best guess would be trafficking out of Thailand and foreigners who abuse minors in Thailand as the ones who is on top of the list. But I have no proofs or statistics to back it up -

So you are an 1% club member, and not a wannabee club member? In Thailand, it is quite different than back home, but still, did you know HA wanted to establish a club in Hua Hin? If you know, you also know how that ended before it started. -

Thats why you do not underestimate who you are dealing with at anytime at anyplace. You just do not know the man in front of you, period. So many have done that in Thailand, especially when it comes to property and buying in to other business prospects after meeting someone who seems to be genuin, or do not look bad. Bad guys normally comes along as quite friendly and good at what they doing. Doesnt apply to this guy thow. -

Maybe because we do not know future requirements for long term visa, and want to make sure our investment in family, business, land and homes is not on jeapardy because we one day can not meet the requirements for long term visa such as marriage and retirement. Many right now struggle from renewal to renewal to make sure they have all up to date. Even use of agents, becoming more unsecured for some, and if can ot meet the economic financial requirements in first place, it drains an already limited budget that could had been spent on a month living expenses.

Being Single VS Marrying a Thai Lady
Hummin replied to Danderman123's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
well mine is 123, and good enough for making a decent life, but you have to know there is a turning point where to high IQ become problematic if you do not manage to make a use of it, and easily become or seen as the other end, while a person with very low IQ can manage life even better if manage to adopt to the society socially. Drink beer, watch sport, and learn to enjoy what other people enjoy ???? With Higher IQ that kind of socializing becomes harder for most. -
Should it be allowed to let loose people on the best dive sites with marine life and ruin it? So many things that people should not be able to buy in to without experience enough to manage themselves to go there. For most it is only possible because other people guide them there, and make an negative impact on the enviroment. Unfortunate, the local people is depended on such activities. For me personally, Mount Everest have never been a place I wanted to go, especially in a que all the way up to the top, and down again, even I have enjoyed alpine climbing for years. There is a special motivation that needs, that often comes with a carriere somehow either commersial or for business leaders, and off course hard core climbers with a pure goal.

Well done, refusing to read anything of sources provided Russia Is Taking Advantage of the Invasion-Stirred Migration Crisis By creating migration waves that will destabilize Europe, Putin is harming the continent without directly using military force against countries outside Ukraine. As ever, Putin is happy to generate chaos that will hurt others—and to take advantage of it for Russia https://foreignpolicy.com/2022/07/18/russia-ukraine-war-migration-food-crisis-putin/ -

It all started with me stating Turkey as a buffer against Europe. Escalated to todays conflict in Ukraine. Ignorant bickering from your part, and can not see there is more involved than just a war of territory
