Cultural sensitivity training for staff: Equipping staff with basic knowledge about Russian cultural norms and communication styles could help them better understand patient behavior and de-escalate potentially tense situations.

Patient liaisons or interpreters: Having staff members who speak Russian or can act as liaisons can facilitate communication and ensure clear understanding of instructions and expectations.

    This passage describes colonization.

I don't make too many predictions but I do make this one, Trump won't be elected and I think Biden will drop out.....he can't campaign and can't debate and America should have a leader who has all his faculties. I think Trump's law fare situation is looking dire, and there is a limit to how much the SCOTUS can dig him out of his farcical situation. His musings against biased judges and biased AGs and prosecutors are always spot on, but his bleating them out without compelling evidence isn't helping him. I think he will be rid of the vile perjurer Fani Williams soon, but will still have a law suit against him in a hostile county. Contrast the FBI won't prosecute Biden because he is frail and weak minded and I betcha Hunter gets tried in a Biden-or-die state/county. American Injustice in a politically polarised country where when one side is winning they care nothing for due process....but complain like hell when they are losing. The US is a BROKEN BANANA STATE. Pity the poor world with this pretend leader as the hegemon.

The majority of Americans will crawl across broken glass to vote against him. Only his core acolytes will vote for him. And they aren't numerous enough. They appear larger than reality because they follow him around the country appearing at his rallies like Deadheads for the Grateful Dead.

Now this is an election policy issue that should definitely interest expats.

Trump trade advisers plot dollar devaluation

Advisers close to the former president — particularly his former trade chief Robert Lighthizer — are considering policies that would weaken the dollar relative to other currencies, which could juice U.S. exports but also fuel inflation.

That was his policy last time, too.

  4. All these complaints. And the crowds. And the pollution. It makes me yearn for the Golden Age of Covid Thailand. Cleaner air, fewer people, easier to get around, no problem finding taxis. I really liked things then. (The economic problems are out of my lane, so, yes, Covid Thailand caused economic destruction. But as someone living here on a retirement extension, it was the best time I've ever experienced.)

We used to call it Gonad Texas, and I'd happily retire there...  Coleto Creek was a favorite fishing spot when I lived in Corpus Christ and in Sugarland.  But it's like dozens, maybe hundreds of small towns.  Hard to find work (Oilfield was big in Gonad, with the ups and downs), and I don't think I'd educate my kids there.  Not that they're Goliad'ners are dumb.  Just that it would be a small district with limited resources.

To jingthing's comment on crime and decay, that's why I love the redneck culture.  We look after our neighbors.  And, to be clear, there are tons of black and Latino rednecks.  It's a culture, not a race.  In Galveston, a lot of the rednecks are Vietnamese and Filipinos, too.  Speaking of Vietnamese, look at Palacios, Texas.  Lots of Vietnamese fishermen settled there after the war and raised up a great community.  Right on the bay, but pretty remote.  And affordable.

Limited opportunities to work often time means lower prices for rent for retirees. I like Goliad a great deal. It's majority Hispanic and 40 percent Anglo. But I like Hispanic ways, especially those from Mexico.

Tiny place but a bigger city in the vicinity is Victoria TX and that's well within D list  boundaries.

Goliad has less than 2000 people I think. Victoria, too, seems okay. A place with 80,000 or more, just a little bit over Victoria, is Mission, Texas. It's right along the border in the Rio Grande Valley. Might be even more options there.

  7. Why would you be "proud" your uncle was eaten by cannibals? To me, that sounds humiliating.

Jean-Pierre told reporters aboard Air Force One that the 81-year-old president was merely expressing how “incredibly proud” he was of Finnegan when Biden suggested New Guinea natives had eaten him in 1944. https://nypost.com/2024/04/18/us-news/white-house-admits-biden-uncle-wasnt-eaten-by-cannibals-died-in-pacific-ocean-crash/
