  1. One could call this a retiree column for there are so many commentators. However, the issue is much more serious.

We should give it a new name ' Thai death jump', just go ahead and look up the numbers who jumped in a year - all this whilst living in paradise.

I chose to write this addition whilst looking out from my window in North East Lombardia, 50 km from Bergamo towards the Swiss Alps. By the way prices for a room with a view with Balcony in the 1st floor are reasonable even by Thai standards, at 17 Bucks per night. Invigorating fresh air and breathtaking scenery included. How 's that for starters? For those who have similar ideas let me say this : No one should jump in paradise - nor elsewhere, it simply isn't worth it. - trust me.

  2. AFRICASIAEURO - For those who are all out smart - and have eaten their ' Thai wisdom ' on a first, second or even third-holiday visit.

I say this, and I won't ever forget the wise words of my Korean Sabomnim Ki Young Song: 'His brother a 7th Dan Taekwondo teacher back in the seventies, when stepping out on Ploenchit road at night, trying to end a scuffle between 2 Thais in a good-willed fashion, attacked even though he was a martial arts instructor, pinned down and killed with a knife near the entrance of his Dojo'. I have sparred with many Thais (tournament) and saw my best pal knocked out brutally by aThai boxer. I saw many fights between Thais when I lived in Phrakanong and elsewhere.

I know what is in their mind, I also know the true sentiment behind the smile. I also know the French and their stupidity, especially those in Khao San Phra Arthit area. Smoking dope is only one of it. Watched Thai boxing matches in Rachadamnoen between American biceps and a Thaiboxer ( needless to say who was virtually destroyed). Let me say this : Be polite, wai and stay away, whatever the case. None of us is physically capable of handling any assault. You are not liked, but tolerated when you are kind, polite - and pay up. Still Thailand will have many beautiful things to offer for the one who knows how to do about it.

  3. Well - there is not much to say. Knife-wielding is as common in Thai - Farung relationships as is sanook. If you indulge in hot sex with them, and think you can go a little bit on the side sometimes, chances are you experience some 'daeg gapog daeg loey' or something like the Brit herein experienced. Both are highly unpleasant. You have been warned. Many Farungs don't know the least sh about the culture except going after broads.

Jealousy and revenge aren't dealt here in a westerly fashion.

  4. One cannot but feel sad after reading about another tragic ending in paradise. It happened / happens too often to be plausible. A beautiful looking girl  in a beach hut without security? I am angry at these girls playing with their fate. If the so called 'guru' was indeed needed for questioning, why was he not culled from wherever and sent back. Can you imagine your daughter to end up in such tragic manner? Problem : Too many Europeans still believe they are in a save haven where nothing can happen to them. Time to wake up. africasiaeuro
