Why not just raise the tax on bad beer (alcohol) and lower it on good beer (no alcohol)?  How do people with no brains get into such elevated positions?

    Illogical Mr Spock.

To me taxing the alcohol content (excise) is a world wide thing.

    Taxing no alcohol beer. Illogical...

  2. Normally I would have expected an impact study.

    But hey TIT.

Such an infrastructure project like this I read is planned to link up with China?

Helping me understand the Chinese funding loans.

I would have thought it would have been sold along the grounds of reduced pollution, significantly less vehicles on the road,

Take the car by rail etc.

    But one again TIT.

ONCE these beasts get up to speed its several kilometers before they can stop.

    Which means impenetrable level crossings.

Otherwise its going to be a case of, "pick the bike and rider up three kilometres up the track"

I really want to believe it will happen in my time here.

Can see the Chinese engineering population growing significantly.

No doubt special visa waivers will be available.

"Locals in Ang Thong in central Thailand are convinced that mysterious spirits are at work"???? Sure, alcohol plays a major part, but the leading cause has to be plain old dumbness.

Take responsibility people, i know its an almost impossible feat for a Thai.

    Mysterious spirits?

    Sang Som

    Hong Thong.

Not to mention that white lightning they drink at about 50 baht a liter.

Which has absolutely no relevance to immigration rules that this topic is focused on....

You state the point of no relevance?

The response is as relevant as the post I responded to.

    Of course there is relevance.

Freedom of movement for people who have to work here is relevant to the TM30.

When I was here and with Ford I never heard any of the present day <deleted> that we get hit with now.

I was moving all over the place and never heard anything about reports or reporting residence.

I suspect that the government will hold the line until a large company, such as a motor vehicle manufacturer, says that it is relocating from Thailand because the restrictions are impacting on the happiness of its expat employees and causing them to want to leave Thailand.

    Toyota is already doing it.

Who wants to pay 30% plus more for a vehicle built in Thailand for export ?

    All down to the baht.

Two years ago a vehicle built for export was say 500,000.

The same vehicle built today is 650,000 equivalent.

Because of the drop in currency exchange.

All car manufacturers are looking at the equations.

Basically 30% more baht is required to purchase.

Not sure I understand people that don't realise this happens, are they that naive?
They go and collect all the oil in front of you to rebottle it for the lamps

The whole deal is a money making machine.....

Went to the big gold Buddha in Chachongsao.

Talk about a cash making operation.

Thousands of people, poor people who but 20 baht in each of the boxes.

Same with the food and gifts purchased.

    Collect and resell several times.

The BIG shock was looking for a toilet out the back and one room had money counting machines and armed monks with glocks around the waist.

Even my partner commented on how many stations there were to take her  (my) 20 baht notes.

Unregulated and terrible extraction of money.

Get rid of this guy now.

    Hang on...

The Americans say that he is doing great things for the country and Junta. During the last 5 years.

So good that they will sell Thailand about 150 APVs.

    Armoured Personnel Vehicles.

Which will be located somewhere near Bangkok central.

Wonder which one is his personal one?

Can't help but wonder if something is brewing?
