And the reason for this lack of European visitors is..
(Apart from the thai government saying that Indian and Chinese tourists are preferred)
Is the strength of the thai baht.
So effectively it will cost you 30% to 35% more before you even buy your first beer, or enjoy your favorite entertainment.

Actually it looks like the manager was an accomplice. The girl is apparently manager's daughter.

There is one now...
And would you say the same if she did this in the toilet?
But It was another employee who put up a camera.
The bank had suspicion!! Err BS.
So why didn't internal investigators set up a camera?
Or install a new camera in the blind spot?
As said.
If employees are able to install thier own cameras.
Where else are they?
Toilets etc...

Hmmm.... I read that those funds were spirited away by some top government officials months ago. ????????????
Reflecting into the cash distribution to flood victims currently.
An official goes there with a bag full of cash to distribute.
1000 for you
And 1000 for you.
And 1000 for me....
Another 1000 for me...
And so it goes..????

What is it about the Thai genetic makeup that says it's ok to steal?.
These are educated people in possibly coveted positions.
Security everywhere.
But they repeatedly do it, and get caught.
Change the scenario to other places like 7/11, and reflecting on earlier posts, you have to say "yes" they do it too.
Look at immigration and they charge 300 for a certificate of residence, suppose to be free.
The brown paper envelopes.
It's in every walk of life here.

So is this article talking about the proposed insurance requirement for regular tourists, or the separate proposal to require health insurance for O-A visa applicants, or both?
I will be more than happy to pay the 30 baht, or even 300 baht.
And be treated as a public hospital patient.
My annual insurance quote arrived the other day $7300. USD.
And top annual payouts of 400,000. Inpatient.
(Currently being investigated, so I will not name the company, but it did flash up on here)

Border runners are considered safe, but long termers with families, houses, etc. are a security risk!
Who also contribute to the village and upkeep of possibly more than one family, put children into thai schools, buy Thailand made vehicles and household goods.
It goes on and on...
But we are the security risks. ????

I salute your generous effort. Perhaps you were thinking how lucky your own kid is when you emptied out your wallet (or brat or whatever term it is that I have seen you use when speaking of her).
My first gf tried to stop me as I supported some in the streets but she did not clearly explain why.
By posting this information, you not only encourage other farangs to assist but the responses help establish/clarify the parameters for giving.
Thank you.
I too have seen the young lady in Asoke.
About 16 I would have a guess.
Well dressed in a school uniform.
I think its brave that she attends school.
Kids can be cruel.
We too gave a donation a little bit over the top.
My head says she was genuine.
My partner thought the same.
We met couple with child at Makro pattaya the other day.
They had borrowed from the family in Udon thani for the trip to pattaya in the hope of employment with a cousin.
Only to find on arrival that she had shot through. Unpaid rent.
Distraught wasn't the word.
My partner (a sucker for kids pets etc) told me their plight and said can I help them.
So, we dropped them at the bus station and put 1000 baht in his hand.
The bloke was in tears.
There are a few genuine ones out there..
Its normally my own that con me.
Cars with speedos spun, mates who don't give you the money for a girlfriends airfare ticket.. etc. etc.

He said that the new system was of an international standard and had brought Thailand recognition from authorities around the world as a place with international standards.
Nothing quite like blowing your own trumpet....
But then again. TIT.
So pay someone to blow your trumpet for you.
And, maybe a massage at the same time...

More gloom on the way.

Another kick in the teeth for exports and still PM Prayut says nothing, his silence is deafening which is a worry.
One would expect him to say something since he recently appointed himself to the Chairmanship of the Council of Economic Ministers. Surely that makes him the official spokesperson. One can only conclude he is unsure of himself and doesn't know what to say.
Prayutnomics, it appears, is not working. Except perhaps that the 20 Year plan will ensure the rich will be richer and the poor will be poorer.

How do people with no brains get into such elevated positions?
Easy to work out mate and if you look into most of these cretins backgrounds you will quickly see they are from the moneyed elite, all about jobs for the boys common sense or aptitude not required.....
The haves and have nots.
It's a world wide practice.
But I have to start to think that behind the Thai smile, there really isn't a lot going on...
And that's without the alcohol, jabba, ganga, and the odd fall or two from a bike with no helmets.
Add to that the village habit of belting kids around the head at a young age.

Why not just raise the tax on bad beer (alcohol) and lower it on good beer (no alcohol)? How do people with no brains get into such elevated positions?
Illogical Mr Spock.
To me taxing the alcohol content (excise) is a world wide thing.
Taxing no alcohol beer. Illogical...

Zero alcohol beer!!!
I can't say I have seen any on sale here.
What's the point of drinking if you don't stupify the brain a little bit.
Although in the case of locals it doesn't take much to stupify the bit they sometimes use.
And a few tourists too.
