Thai tourism hit as gun violence prompts Chinese visitor cancellations
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Wait until they find out how many die on the roads. The mind boggles at what fear can do. Like closing a country for a flu that would kill your tourism industry. Who would such a thing. Oh wait. -
Cabinet Approves Visa Extension for Russian Tourists

Soon to be US draft Dodgers also. Going through Congress they want to draft women now. Although even the term "women" is a divisive issue in bonkers USA. Agree with the previous comments that why don't they make it 90 days for all countries. Malaysia do. -

I am a little lost on how. climate change has anything to do with having a bank account in your home country. As Thailand is preparing for a cashless society in addition to many countries forgive me if I am a little cynical over the whole global cabal dominated governance.

Define a "thorough examination". You mean you opened his passport and saw his last stamp and realised he is on overstay. Did a child write this.- 48 replies

Chinese Tourist Arrivals Plunged Nearly 30% Week Over Week
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ten years ago when flying out of the old airport it looked almost empty. 9 years later I flew out to the same destination in Malaysia and it was packed with Chinese tourists. The previous government went out its way to court the Chinese while making it more difficult for western tourists. A 6 month tourist visa from the UK was so easy to get. A simple application and 75 pounds later the visa was in your passport from a consulate in Liverpool. Then they moved all applications to the embassy in London and the process now requires proof of funds and insurance. You reap what you sow.- 61 replies

Targeted Emergency Alert System to Be Put in Place
Bim Smith replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Exactly. You can turn off emergency alerts on your phone. They did the same in the UK in April. It seems Thailand is reading the same script. Covid response to a digital cashless society it feels like we are being herded into a very uncertain future. It's sounds hopeless but people need to stop complying- 38 replies

Fake sympathy and more worried about the image of the country. Where was your concern for tourism and the wider affect on those that rely on income from it when you unnecessarily closed the country for two years. And it will happen again as Thailand is one of the countries that has signed up the WHOs draconian pandemic treaty except next time it won't be the Thai government setting the rules. Signing away your sovereignty is a treasonous act.

Tourism confidence in Thailand plummets amid economic jitters
Bim Smith replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Nice to see Malaysia at the top. UK passport gets 90 days on arrival exempt. Only 30 days for Thailand. I love Penang. Teflon Thailand no more. Needlessly closing the country for two years didn't help am sure but it was heading downward anyway. They chased too many cheap low spending Chinese and Indian tourists. -
They are only talking Chinese tourists and some on here want to up sticks. The solution is don't live in a tourist area. I have never seen a Russian or Chinese. Thailand has plenty to offer other than Gogo bars and prostitution
