You can't speak to an Emperor like that!!!

Take originals of marriage certificate, bank books, wife's ID card (Photocopy) and any other documentation you think relevant.
As I have said before in many posts, "It's a long way back to Bangkok for that piece of paper in your top drawer".

While we're on the topic;
is a doctor's certificate needed for
* your first extension of a Non O visa?
* applying for an O-A visa in a consulate outside of Thailand?
Thanks

So...........did you give the missus one the night before or not?
Only joking!! Well done.

Leading think tank sees need to restructure Thai economy and society
Really? My God, I would never have thought that!!

I think he is talking about having B800K in the bank as opposed to a pension of B65K pm.

Doesn't bother me either at all, but I wish they'd stop making fools of themselves with the constant bickering.

OK This has helped a lot, Samran. Thanks a lot.
Do I have to actually go thru the grounds of Bamrungrad? Will I have to get an entry ticket etc from the guard?

Hi all
I am helping a friend move house on Sunday and I need directions in and around the Nana area.
Firstly, I will be exiting the freeway (coming from Don Mueang area) onto Sukhumvit Rd near soi 1. If I turn left into Sukhumvit Rd and then immediately left again into soi 1, can I get into soi 3 (Nana Nua) from Soi 1?
Also, if I can get out into soi 3, can I go straight over at the traffic lights into soi 4 (Nana Tai)? My friend's house is in soi 4.
Thanks.

^^ Anything that ties you both to Thailand.
That's the key.

There'll be carnage on the roads. It really doesn't matter what state you are in in the back of the van if some liquored-up arsehol_e comes ploughing into you. Better off driving to Pattaya, less chances of a smash for a much shorter distance.
Be dam_n careful!!

I used my covering letter as an index for the paperwork in the binder as follows:
NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION
VAF1 Application Form
2 passport-sized photographs
Current Thai passport
Photocopy of current Thai passport
Previous Thai Passport
A bankers draft for B4,095 (Visa fee)
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION / EVIDENCE OF ASSETS IN THAILAND
Original (2) bank passbooks and signed photocopies
Signed photocopy of Thai identity card
Original (1) and signed photocopy of Marriage Certificate
Original (1) and signed photocopy of house registration book
Original (1) and signed photocopy of car registration book
Signed photocopy of husband's current British passport
Letter of invitation to UK from mother-in-law
Photograph of UK accommodation
Confirmed travel plans
As neither of us are working, I couldn't include any letters from bosses or tax receipts etc

Jesus Christ. Make up your minds!!

.............put it in a binder with some dividers and an index - a concise but well-written covering note never hurts,
This is a serious business - so treat it seriously & professionally.......
You got it, Captain! Exactly what we have done. A divided binder with a polite covering letter and a neatly filled in application form works wonders.
Good luck.

My wife has had 2 UK visas (and 1 Australian visa) with no help from any legal eagles. We going to apply for her 3rd in a few months. Easy.
Submit as much info as you can to prove that she will return to Thailand (assets, bank books, house reg book, car reg book, letters from employers etc).

quote
They should be shamed before Thai society.
Thai society would never look down on or indeed shame a very rich man. Money is power and face, and no matter how the recipient came across his/her wealth, they will never be looked down upon.

No. But at least justice would be meted out. However, I appreciate your sentiment.

I wish to Christ I could get my hands on him. He'd be a fuc_kin' mess.

Use the embassy's complaint link. You always get an answer.
If EVERYBODY who has/had a genuine grievance was to complain about the VFS in Rajadamri or the embassy itself, something might be done. I also am sick of erroneous information given to me over the phone as well as waiting for ages to contact them by phone only to be cut off. Pathetic service for a high price. A journey begins with but a single step.
COMPLAIN NOW IF YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED POOR SERVICE.

Won't mind that it'll be gone. Stuff there is so expensive anyways.
I've found that the prices there beat the hel_l out of Patpong and lower Sukumvit markets. I haggle hard and have got some real bargains in the past. Even my Thai missus was amazed at some of the deals I got!!
Anyway, it'll still be cheaper than some new shitty shopping centre for the hi-so <deleted>.
