  1. Hull are very friendly helpful and friendly and do issue Visas on the spot, when I went I made and appointment and the process only took a few minutes.

I know that. But Glasgow and Liverpool have more charm than Hull (sorry any Hullsiders/Hullites who may be reading!!)

As Brigante7 kindly pointed out, Glasgow office does not issue visas, therefore, any Liverpudlians out there to tell me about the office there in Lord Street?

  2. As above.

You must exit Thailand every 90 days and return to get another 90 days stamp in your passport until your 1 year is up. This can be done in the same day.

You can either take a train to Malaysia or Laos, fly with Air Asia to a nearby destination (KL, Penang, Phnom Penh, Rangoon, Singapore etc) or take a bus to the Cambodian/Burmese borders with various visa run services.

Easy as falling off a log!!

  3. Thanks for the input.....

However I asked for FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE

    Sweetchariot: you said

    They do accept personal applications

    but

    Brigante7 said:

the Thai consulate in Glasgow doesn't issue visas

What am I to do? I really don't want to turn up on their doorstep and be told to bugger off as personal applications are not accepted. Hull would be so easy by post, but the missus would like to have a wee day out in England/Scotland/the mainland as she'll be sick of drinking pints of Guinness/whiskey chasers with me in a smoky club in Belfast till all hours or being harrassed because she is NOT from the 2 main religions who get kneecapped daily!!!!!

  4. Can anyone with first hand experience please tell me of the opening hours of the Thai consulates in Glasgow and Liverpool, and also, do they accept personal applications to apply/collect a visa? (There are no direct flights to Hull, and B/ham & Cardiff flights get in too late to apply before lunchtime).

I will be back in Belfast this summer to get a new Non Imm 'O' visa, and am looking for a consulate which will accept walk-in applications (as I want to take the missus on a 1 day shopping spree in either Glasgow or Liverpool).

    Thanks.

  5. ........Kanpithak, also known as Mu Ham........

If said with the appropriate tones, mu ham (หมูหำ) would mean Pig's cock Right, Thai language playmates??

PRETTY APT (and my apologies to any porcines and their todgers for linking them to this shit!!)

    หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ หมูหำ

  6. The point I was trying to make was; let's say, for example, all Thai embassies and consulates in the SE Asia region were to clamp right down and issue next to no Non Imm O (multi entry) visas while issueing only 3 month ones quite liberally, would the surge of Non Imm O (multi) from Hull entrants into Swampyboom raise an eyebrow or instigate an in-depth enquiry?

  7. Hang on!!

Lite Beer: you say If you are going to apply in Thailand you do not need Police Clearance..... I presume you are talking about an O/A (retirement visa extension)

but Dr Pat Pong says: The police clearance certificate is ONLY a feature required of ....... applicants of Non Immigrant O-A visa's

Although I have a few years to go before I hit the big 50 and get an O/A visa, I am keeping abreast of things (as the actress said to the bishop).

    Anyone?!!

  8. I was under the impression that the 400k lump in the bank for Non-Imm 'o' had gone and only the 40k/month still held.

Just got mine from the UK and didn't need most of that stuff - just wedding cert copy (I also sent kids birth certs too - copies), declaration that I can afford to support us all, passport and the form (and £106 - including retuen postage).

Yes. If you want to extend your Non Imm 'O' visa for 1 year, you need to show that either you or your wife is earning B40,000pm

If you want a Non Imm'O' multi entry (i.e. cannot show an income), you must have B400K in a bank.

  9. The following was copied and pasted from the Thai Embassy's website in Singapore.

    Non-Immigrant Visa-O (Thai Spouse)

    Required documents are:

    1. One completed and signed visa application form

    2. One recent passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4.5cm)*

    3. Passport (valid for no less than 6 months)

    4. Personal history.

    5. Airline ticket or confirmation slip with flight number date of entry/exit.

    6. Marriage Certificate.

    7. Bank Statement (at least 400,000 Baht)

Did you have to show either No 4 or 5 at the embassy to get a multi entry Non 'O'?

  10. I agree 100% with the above poster.

People will always try to cheat or abuse a system. It's human nature. :o

But when you try to do it to the Thai Immigration authorities....

Time will come when action may be taken against the Hull consul/consulate with regards to the issuance of Non Immigrant visas, and the ones who suffer will be EVERYONE; genuine cases and chancers alike.

Used by many, spoiled by a few.
