  1. Often Word files do not appear in the Start menu search function in Wn10.

Sometimes I have to click on documents, and sometimes have to open the Folder (dropbox) where the file is, after it has found it once it remembers it in future, but it is very strange.

I've had the same problem on two WIn10 PCs.

Why does this happen, is it because its in a Folder of Dropbox? It doesn't seem logical.

    Any way to fix this?

    Thanks

  2. A lot of whining and whingeing from guys who did not save when they were young and fine themselves broke.

    Blaming everyone else but themselves.

However, what chrisandsu said about the cost of immigration is true. It has devastated many parts of Europe and ruined many lives of those who worked and paid tax, only to find that money given to those who have not paid in

  3. As people become wealthy and their daily needs are taken care of, they look to more theoretical problems.

They long for political freedom and involvement.

Most revolutions of discontent are lead by the middle and upper class, not the working class (Russian peasants were very pro-Tsar, most Soviets tended to be upper class).

Ironically, it is times of wealthy and plenty that often lead to unhappy populations- not times of want.

  4. Strange thing on my Asus laptop using Office 2003, the indicator on a Word document does not appear.

The dot that shows you where you are on the page, appears as a tiny little dot,  hard to see.

It is strange that this only happens on an Asus laptop, no where else?

Any clues on how to fix this, it makes using Word difficult.

    Thank you

This is the same thing I wondered 10 years ago when I went to Tokyo and was paying 1-3 bucks for a Subway ride comparing to Toronto which has the worst public transport comparing to any mega city on the planet and paying $3. Demand and yes monopoly. Thais are using BTS in large numbers. They can command any price they want.

Yes, Japanese trains are mostly privately run. Cheap, quick and reliable.

Government run trains, not so much.

Remember it well; we even had the legendary tin bath in front of the fire for the first few years of my life, the family taking it in turns to use the water.

Even in later years I remember my girlfriend telling her father, who was a painter and decorator, that he was looking rather dirty after completing a job. Her mother took umbrage at this comment; "Dirty, he's not dirty. I make sure he has a bath once a week whether he needs it or not!"

    Good read this week BTW

Yes, it is hard to imagine a time, when I was young, when people bathed once a week.

    Unthinkable now.

  7. >80% of the recycled items we segregate every week for trash pickup (in the U.S.) is not recycled. It is sold overseas by distributors who eventually dump it.

Its true, almost all plastic that we put in recycling boxes is burnt, dumped or disappears. Little is recycled.

It is much better to incinerate this and turn it into electricity but that's not trendy or nice - which is what much of the environmental fraud industry goes on.

  8. Krabi is the arm pit of Thailand, you could not pay me to live there.

    Rude and unfriendly locals

I could not get out of there fast enough.

Why does the OP not know this?

Why is such a sensitive soul living there?

There are plenty of friendly places to live in Thailand.

    Weird

  9. Give the new boss some credit.

Things are changing fast, the country's opening up, it is coming in from the cold. The country is modernising at a rapid pace.

The younger generation is in charge.

I am no fan of the Saudis, a bad regime if ever one existed, it has exported fanaticism all over the globe.
But they are our ally, we don't get to just be friends with nice people.
MBS has changed things more than anyone could have imagined.

Look what happened when Gaddafi came in from the cold, opened his country up, gave up his WMD and welcomed in the West; we went in there and bombed them to hell. The country is destroyed and Europe is flooded with immigrants.

    Better the devil you know.

  10. Exactly

I would take this with a large bucket of salt.

The Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation is all Left wing, they really don't like Israel (they really hate it), and lets face it, if Israel cured cancer the BBC would find a way to write something bad.

I'm not saying this report isn't true, it well might be.

But I believe the BBC about as much as those delightful ladies on Soi Cowboy, who insist that I am a 'Handsum man'.

  11. Isn't it the new tourists?

Tourists used to come from polite and friendly cultures.
I saw courtesy and decency even from the scruffiest Sexpat, people were not rude, and were generally respectful (apart from the odd idiot).

Now look at who's in BKK.
Rude, demanding, loud, arrogant and unpleasant tourists.
We have all seen them. They shout at staff, stuff their faces at buffets, demand discounts and generally make everyone unhappy.
They push in line, shout at each other in massage parlours and NEVER tip.

They treat Thailand with no respect.

If I were a Thai I'd be annoyed too.

Tourism has changed because of who is visiting.
Come back Sexpats, all is forgiven.
