  1. For some odd reason, when using Gmail on my Asus Win10 laptop, I cannot see the cursor.

So I can't see where I am when writing emails.

This does not happen on any other device, using the Gmail webmail site.

It happens after clean installing the OS, and I've done this several times.

    Is this an Asus thing?

    Thanks

  3. In old Office, after searching for a word in a Word file, I could close the Search box using Alt F4, or another Key command easily

But in Office 0 and over, this does not work, I have to close the Search box manually, with the mouse.

Is there any key command that lets me do this.

Its really annoying having to use the mouse to close this every time I search for something on a document.

    Thanks

  4. I like Word 2003, is simple and quick and works fine with all my Win10 PCs.

But one Asus laptop it won't work with, keeps stopping, then getting the message

An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Please run Setup and select Repair to restore this application.

I reinstall it but more problems, just stops working.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks

  5. Usually use Zoom, which is an excellent stereo recorder for voice.

Can I buy a high quality stereo mic for my phone that will produce good quality recordings, better than the inbuilt mic? Or is it limited.

I'm looking for a deeper sound, which the phone does not have.

    thanks

  6. That's good info KeeTua, I'll give it a go..

    thanks

Yes OneMoreFarang, it really annoys me, I have tried since 1996 to explain to people to use the tab key, and the return key instead of using a mouse to click OK,  but the all ignore this advice (almost all women, well, in fact, 100% women).

    I have given up.

  7. Thanks KeeTua, I appreciate your suggestion.

Not like the annoying comments above yours.

I use MacroScheduler, but this only works on the F row keys with an F number function

Can I use AutoHotKey to make Macros for any key on the F row, such as Print?

    Thanks

  8. I like to make Macros that work on the F row, using software that lets me click on a key once.

Asus lets me do this as it has an F row reverse lock, that lets me lock the F row into locking the Fn key down, thus making the F numbers default.

Can I do this on any non-Asus products?

Or, is there an app that will allow me to make Macros for one key (Print, Pause, Scroll lock etc) without having to also use an Alt or other key?

    Thanks

  9. > I witnessed an Old Indian Lady the other day haggling the price  of a large amount of " Silk " products she was about to possibly buy from a Small Shopping Mall Stall.

The Thai store owner was really flustered, as this Old Lady was really aggressive in her manner.

I have seen this quite few times. Usually, well actually always women! An unpleasant woman arguing with a Thai over the price of sunglases in Pantip Plaza, he eventually told her to f-off, then gave me a 20Bt discount with a warm smile.

Come back sexpats, all is forgiven!

  10. thank you

I do like it, reminds me of the old Win7 search, which I preferred.

Is there any way to set up a key command to access this search using keyboard keys - instead of having to click on it manually every time.

I think the Start menu is trying to be smart, but it won't find files unless they have been opened recently.

    Very odd
