  1. Looking back at other requests for postponement until later, I imagine courts have heard, Saddam: "That date isn't convenient as it is the day before I have an important meeting to invade somewhere." Goering: "The Nuremburg trial needs to be postponed as I have an important event in Paraguay to attend the day before." Julius and Ethel Rosenberg: "The trial date is inconvenient as we have a super appointment with Stalin in Moscow the day before." Sorry for the sarcasm, but I doubt courts consider plaintiff appointments.
  2. There is a lot of money to be made from giving people hope of an afterlife. Write a book, become an evangelist, Hope means money for someone.
  3. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, 81, stops and stares blankly into space. Not too old. Sen. Chuck Grassley is 88 years old. Older than Biden but who cares?
  4. Have they asked permission from Thaksin or Prawit?
  5. People laughed at the early Japanese cars. The first one in my street was all chrome (yuck). Now their cars are number one for reliability. It was inevitable that China would catch up.
  6. Looking forward to seeing what happens, but without a knowledgeable opinion myself. Being a former President, and with the leniency shown to Trump to date (no handcuffs, chains or other treatment usually given to offenders), would he be imprisoned or given a suspended sentence? I have seen presidents jailed in those infamous "sh*thole countries" he denigrates but not the USA - to date. Any legal beagles want to give an informed opinion?
  7. If people continue to protest against Thaksin's lenient treatment out of a perfect excuse for the military to intervene and dissolve Parliament.
  8. The room with my guitars and computers is getting cluttered and I want to hang the two electric guitars (including one really heavy Gibson, and one acoustic guitar on a wall to get them off the floor and out of the way and yet close at hand to use whenever the mood takes me. The big problem is, I understand that the walls are not made of bricks but of breeze blocks, which are perhaps a bit weaker. I really don't know. My questions are, does anyone have experience in hanging guitars on a wall made of breeze blocks, and which brand of guitar hooks are especially good for this? Is there any other way of doing it? Thanks in advance. Example taken from the web.
  9. Assassination in the US historically was done by individuals. I doubt any political entity would consider it. Yes, Trump could win an election as he doesn't need the greatest number of votes (aka the popular vote) just enough to win the electoral college.
  10. I have encouraged my Thai staff to use it to correct the grammar and spelling in their emails and documents before sending. It has worked well, and their written English has markedly improved. A lot better now than native speakers who confuse your and you're, lose and loose.
  11. <Sob!> Brave Thaksin, sacrificing his health to help form a government to serve the people while his sister carries on her business in London where Thai criminality has no meaning.
  12. A good strategy. Keep Thais low educated and dumb while using AI to do the smart work cheaper.
  13. Knew him years ago and he was a creep back then. Just too cocksure his daddy would always get him out of trouble.
  14. If a medical professional suggests wearing a mask, no problem if you are over 65 and don't want to. When the ambulance arrives tell them to go away as is your right.
  15. As a former PM overthrown by a military coup and subject to a sentence to keep him away I would have thought he would arrive with some dignity, but hovering over the airport waiting for his friends to win and help him escape prison is asking too much.
  16. The other prisoners are probably helping to clean his room. Using toothbrushes probably means they might not make the deadline.
  17. I read he was flying in from Singapore. Maybe I am wrong, but why is a developed state ignoring the fact Thaksin is a wanted criminal? Is it because everyone outside Thailand knows he was stitched up? Let's see what happens on arrival.
  18. Many ordinary, yet beautiful, girls are against marrying or dating fat, old western men and their parents will scold them if they are seen together. Sad but true.
  19. I would hesitate to put the (most certainly) leftist British Labour Party together with the more centrist U.S. Democratic party (in comparison). If AI is left leaning at all it is probably because human development has taken the liberal route over a long time. Female emancipation, end of slavery, social welfare programs are no longer considered leftist but rather the norm. Some may not see it that way though.
  20. With so many made unemployed due to the pandemic I haven't seen a move into mass production and high end technology. 3/10.
  21. I read that the courts wanted to make public the results of the watch investigation. That would keep the army guy out.
