Thai Private Sector Seeks Help As Chinese Products Flood Market
TBH you can import anything but if people don't buy it then you won't make money. If Chinese products are selling this is just competition. Thailand just hasn't focused on manufacturing, so this is coming back to bite them as China is oriented forward making lots of cheap products

'You're kind of raised to hate tourists': Maui fires fan tensions on Hawaiian island
I guess all places that can't make revenue from anything except tourism must feel some regret when their land prices go up.

Traffic Police to Receive New Field-Ready Uniforms for Enhanced Safety and Performance
I honestly don't see much difference. Still tight and brown. Popular with the LGBT crowd.

Alcohol advertising: Tightened restrictions urged amidst youth risk concerns
Really, when people arrive at the legal age to drink, they don't look at the newspaper or Facebook to decide on the beer they want.

Deputy House speaker in hot water over a cold beer
I don't see any words on the can saying it is beer. However I would have thought the MP would be able to show his pride in a local product.

Chocolate Ville is photogenic and near Bangkok (look on google maps). Also, maybe spend a night at Mustang Blu, near Hualamphong Station. Also very photogenic.

Tax overhaul: Thai excise department plans restructuring to close loopholes
I think the taxman sees anything called "beer" as taxable, alcohol or not.

Political parties decry government’s change of subsidy for Thai senior citizens
It would appear that the people who really need the money will still receive it. Not sure what the threshold for an income would be or how insufficient income is calculated, but anyone with a job may not be desperate for the money..

Thaksin and Pheu Thai have burned their bridges with its national ‘family’ and loyal support base
As a previous attempt in 2011 by Yingluck Shinawatra to include her brother in an amnesty ended in tears, I am not sure whether they seriously believe people will welcome moves to bring him back now.

Thai woman seeks online help after Satanic relationship turns violent
It looks like Satan has an undeserved bad reputation. He only killed 10 people in the Bible, versus God's 2 million plus. And he only punishes bad people. I can't think who the article means by Satan - maybe Māra?

Cabinet Approves Opium and Magic Mushroom Trial for Medicine
While not being sold over the counter as many seem to think, it will help some people. I remember that Cary Grant used to take LSD to deal with his issues under the care of a therapist.

Too obvious that there is corruption going on.

The most diligent caretaker government in history. Make the deals, take the kickback, and saddle the next government with billions in debt.

Warning UK set for five years of lost economic growth
Still waiting for the ("they need us more than we need them") predictions that the EU would break up to come true. http://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/SN02784/assets/f0c1e22b-187c-447b-a6f6-d86cab49a4bc.png https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn02784/

Exclusive: A veteran FBI agent told Congress that investigations into Giuliani and other Trump allies were 'suppressed'
All heads of the FBI have historically been Republicans, the tough-on-crime guys. Why wouldn't they investigate crime?

British chain Costa Coffee faces boycott calls over transgender illustration
Not sure what the fuss is about. A cartoon of someone with scars? Mountains/molehills. Just walk past and think, "Look at the costa coffee in that place."
