    My UK passport is valid for another 2.5 years but only has 3 pages empty. Once I have my next extension in November, I will apply for a new one. As the current situation is a shambolic lottery, a friend waited 5 months here to get his returned, I will hopefully be able to travel in the spring next year to visit my family.

    But people aren't flocking here in the numbers they need. Too many people are being bashed by the cost of living crisis, flights prices are sky-high and the Muppets extended the state of emergency, which means they can change anything at anytime. Places in Pattaya are really only busy at the weekends, you go out during the week and it's flat, with not that many customers in alot of places, if any.

    I use the Adelphi and also the newer Amber on Soi 21 between 3rd road and Buakhao. 2 minutes walk to Treetown.

    Complete waste of money as every drainage scheme to date has failed miserably as we have recently seen.

    A bunch of meddling Muppets. Privately owned businesses will charge what they want, it's non of the government's business. Do they tell a noodle seller how much he should charge for a bowl, no. Hotels will charge rates that they feel people will be prepared to pay. If they over price, they won't get any customers. Simple supply and demand economics.

    Forget the 40 million then and the huge chunk of GDP that makes up the economy. No doubt the number crunchers at TAT will have to find other jobs. It's just hi-so head in the sand thinking.

    That's all they seem to do, get the photo op publicity so they look like they are on the case, when of course the reality is exactly the opposite and consequently nothing will happen.

    The people at Thai are too dumb to lower fares to meet the competition, they never did it before and they certainly won't now.

    What is required is a radar system capable of spotting approaching aircraft, just as the RAF have to intercept probing Russians on a regular basis. Then the Thai aircraft would be in position prior to the Burmese dog getting over the border.

    The fact that the politicians are some of the most corrupt people in the country, it beggars belief that they have a 'house anti corruption committee' because they have failed miserably to do their job. Yet another gravy train committee for the forelock tuggers.

    It's still many bahts cheaper than the UK by along shot. No standing charges. No council tax. VAT at 7%. Diesel about 85/90p a litre etc...

    So they didn't know it was coming until it was already over the border, tut tut. No doubt the defence minister will be pulled up by his lanyards for a breach of national security he likes to preach on about at every given opportunity to keep the emergency decree in place. Another example of how ineffective it actually is apart from being used to prosecute opposition to his crumbling regime.
