  1. There are some falang video YouTubers that are entertaining and informative, and also respectful - asking if it's ok to record.

But, there are also 'faceless' YouTubers that *secretly* record, following girls and couples around the streets.   One is often recording and posting videos from Soi Buakow...  But it is covert - the people don't know they are being recorded.  They seem to ignore the camera...ie don't know there is one.

A focal point is the 7-11 close by to the upstairs gym.

Looking at the camera angle, it seems as though from waist height. Or maybe the height of a wheelchair...

Does anyone know who is making these videos and what kind of hidden camera rig they have?

I find them disrespectful and distasteful.

  2. I highly recommend the Canon G4000/G6000 series.. I have one of each. They are the 'ink tank' type and amazingly inexpensive to run.  Refilling the tanks is very easy.  The bottles that come with a new printer last a long time too.  They network easily by wifi.

Just choose from the range whether you need scanner, sheet-feeder, automatic double sided printing, etc.   Bought my G4000 in Central mall last year..

  3. Don't give up chocolate, just acquire the taste for high-cocoa like 85%+ (I generally have 95%+).

It has health benefits without the sugar.

Ice cream... Hardly ever have anyway...

Alcohol - a biggie for me... Moderation is the target.  Abstinence is difficult.  But I know people who manage it through other 'medicinal' alternatives! ????????

  4. The gentleman suggesting 'going short' is possibly an experienced trader who has a specific view on how markets will respond to the coming recession (expected by many).  This is not sensible for a regular investor with a long term view.

For the OP, whether it makes sense to place 33% into an equity index fund depends on circumstances, need for cash, age, risk profile, and what other assets are held.

In general, the evidence says that for most investors, holding a small number of equity and bond index trackers will give best long run returns at lowest cost.  Actively managed funds rarely do better over any meaningful timescale.  (This is no longer contentious - the research is overwhelming.)

I personally have a rather cautious view of markets in the next year or so.  Almost all indicators used by economists (including Conference Board LEI which has been 100% reliable in the past) suggest a recession nearby.

For cautious investors, or those retired or approaching retirement, it's very well worth considering an allocation to fixed-income investments that deliver reliable returns but are not correlated to markets.  There are some good options in this field for those resident in Thailand.

    Hello

I have progressive lens on a silhouette frame..

If you talk about Rutnin hospital I would not recommend buying lenses there, when I checked last time I went there, they were very expensive (when medical checking is at very fair price for excellent service)

If in Pattaya go to Pattaya optical on Klang not far from previous Topp s supermarket.

Good price, good quality serious and competent and owner is English fluent

    Have a good day

    I second Pattaya Optical

Use BOLT taxi service, app is super easy to use, a little cheaper than GRAB.

Bolt has options of car with full taxi branding, motorcycle or 'econo' car, meaning basic car in good condition and very clean, no taxi branding. I use 'Econo' car, about 10 to 15 Baht cheaper than branded taxi.

One item: BOLT curently only accept cash, soon to be changed to have QR code etc. Drivers always have change.

Can add extra details of location of pick up in English, their app automatically/immediately changes your message to Thai for the driver.

App shows where the car is all the time.

    BOLT driver's courteous and focused.

I have also had good experiences with the InDrive app.

Brought this up a couple of times previously without any real satisfactory answer.

How does one go about this when it is a requirement to have a return flight booking within the 30 day period?

Fine, change the stay options, but then there is the above problem plus any inter-connecting flight/travel bookings that need to be rescheduled.

Usually at a rather large cost and inconvienience.

Better all around to get a 60 day visa entry, which, as pointed out before, means Aus passport has to do a minimum "to Sydney and back" round trip also at additional cost.

In 30 years of coming to Thailand regularly, I have *never once* had to show an onward ticket at arrival immigration.
