Is there a clown forum? He would rate there.

Trump is not perfect but is HRC?  I cannot vote because I am from UK. We all know both of their faults but I think we only receive one side of the story from looking at the headlines on world news in Thai Visa forum.

From the photos this road is now closed to traffic. Is that actually the case? If it is, what is the problem with vendors?

If it isn't it should be.

No, it is not closed to traffic. Taxis, tuk tuks and motor cycles still use Khao San road. Near Burger King you will see many tuk tuks waiting for tourists. There should be a small area at the end of the road so taxis can pull in for 1 minute to offload passengers. But that would interfere with the tuk tuks who are waiting.

There should be a barrier at each end operated by one person.  Or deliveries allowed between a certain time, eg 11am til 3pm

Khao San road has been a major tourist destination in South East Asia for decades now, and a major part of what defines it and draws people is it's vendors. It hasn't been a traffic thoroughfare for a very long time.

You obviously have not seen the motor cycles that tear down the road honking tourists who are in their way.  I am there every day; only the taxis and tuk tuks are stationary waiting for the next gullible tourist to pay an exorbitant price.

  4. I arrived at CW yesterday morning at 10.40 am with 40 people ahead of me in the queue for my Certificate of Residence for car license. I had brought with me utility bills and rental agreement together with the application form. I presented the application form at 11-40 am but was told I had to have certain pages of the passport copied. ( I thought all passport copies were on file from previous visits) The friendly lady said I could come and see her on resumption at 1pm with the copies so I would not have to queue again.

I queued at 12.40 pm outside the door with maybe 20 people ahead of me. By the time I passed through the door there were maybe 45 ahead of me. Why can't they introduce a rope barrier either side of the door to prevent people cutting in? To me it seems an obvious answer. The cost cannot be a consideration.

She did not ask to see utility bills or rental agreement. But...I thought I would get the certificate within a few minutes but was told it would be sent to my address within 3 weeks. I can see the reason for this.

She asked for 200 baht to cover postage costs which I agreed to considering I have seen reports varying from zero to 500 baht.

  5. Well it is frozen now,you have only just received the pension ?,

if that is so you will not have any increases for as long as you

live out of the U.K.,in Thailand anyway.

regards worgeordie P.S. they think you are still living in U.K. ?, hope they don't catch you.

The government know I am living in Thailand. They sent correspondence to me at my address here. I told the truth about everything and sent supporting documents. I find its best to tell the truth rather than be tripped up further down the line.

  6. I recently received the answer to my request for a government pension. I received full pension of 156 GBP despite having lived here 10 years.

I had reason to return to UK for 105 days in 2014 due to serious problems with my ex girlfriend. I had kept the original rental agreement from UK and sent with my application. I was also lucky that my birthday was after April 2016 because calculations changed in that month.

I had previously seen on Thai visa timelines of 3 months and 6 months to qualify for the annual State Pension increase. I am not sure of the exact month/days to qualify but thought I would share my experience.
