  2. She was a good earner and worth fighting over
  3. oh how I miss the days of covid. Wonder when President Xi will release his next pandemic? I was predicting 2025, and might stick with that. Sawadee Ni Hao Ma…..555
  4. Wrong. It is totally tolerated here. In Chaiyaphum where my wife is from the signs read “if drunk please drive slow”
  5. Probably drove past a police road check and was laughed at. Idiots. Land of Stupid
  6. Never happen. Never was. We never wanted Pattaya free from girls. A lot of us came for the girls. Now I see the beach and the girls are gone and their mothers are working hard to bring home some bacon. Gross but I guess necessary
  7. This was how we started out in Vancouver. Be pointed to the nearest doctor, complain of headaches and a few minutes later you were back at the pot shop getting stoned. No issue. Easy as pie.
  8. completely fabricated cr@p. A mule who was caught. Ain’t going to sway the courts. Her life as she knows it - over. No sympathy for liars or fools.
  9. LOS. Used to be land of smiles, now “land of” - stupid, scams, scum and soon just plain old sh!t. I am married with 2 small kids and we are seriously looking to move to Bali. Cleaner. Better beaches. Environmentally friendly. Etc. Etc. Etc. Also they don’t change their visa or tax rules every time someone sneezes.
  10. Prefer a russkie disco to a Thai farmer disco. I understand why there are so many murders in Thailand after a few hours of Wat music or Thai farmer music, I want to kill people! Anyone! I don’t care.
  11. Is this why you live in Thailand? Did you tell that to your home country revenue department? And now you are wanted for tax evasion. I would think your home country prison would be more comfortable that the Thai prison that you might be visiting. Tax evasion is a serious crime even in Thailand. Be careful.
  12. That’s 500 baht per, which sounds cheap enough. Disgusting. These tourists are cheap and disgraceful. Go home.
  13. These leases are for government lands. I doubt for a small residential property or project. I would think the government is looking for international development companies that would be building large (100+ units) housing developments or hotels/resorts.
  14. If you have a work permit you can work in your shop or anyone else’s for that matter. The work permit is the key ingredient. Owning a shop does not allow you to work in it.
  15. I saw this in high school back in Vancouver. Women want men and they fight over us. I love it.
  16. TIT = Transparency is Thailand or Thailand is Transparency
  17. Why? Why does rainfall affect electrical wires that are mounted on concrete poles??? Maybe because the wires were installed by ignorant people.
  18. Expecting no punishment, a slap on the wrist and a 6-month suspension (forced holiday) with pay
  19. What a sad life you must be living. Married a farmer and living in a village eating raw beef with chilies. 555. Up your game and venture out to a neighbor’s house and maybe try some raw pork.
  20. With first class facilities like Pattaya Water Park, Thailand will continue to attract the well heeled foreigners who live on their frozen pensions. Recently we visited Safari World Bangkok. Many cages were empty and I assume the facilities have not been touched/repaired since the place was constructed. What a dump.
  21. in India the deposit has always been 10 months during the more than a decade I was there
  22. Financial Requirements for Thai Shareholders in a Land Acquisition Company (100 Million Baht Purchase) General Structure and Legal Context Thai law permits a company to own land if the majority of shares (over 50%) are held by Thai nationals. However, the use of nominee Thai shareholders to facilitate land acquisition by foreigners is strictly prohibited. Authorities closely scrutinize the financial backgrounds of Thai shareholders to ensure they are genuine investors and not acting as proxies for foreigners14. Financial Requirements for Thai Shareholders When a company (including one purchasing land worth 100 million baht) is set up to acquire land, the Thai shareholders must demonstrate their financial capability to invest in the company. Specifically: Proof of Income and Salary: Thai shareholders must submit proof of their income and monthly salary. This is to verify that they have the financial means to purchase their shares and are not acting as nominees1. Source of Funds: Authorities investigate the origin of the funds used by Thai shareholders to acquire their shares. If the funds appear to originate from the foreign party (for example, through loans or gifts), the application may be rejected14. Professional and Financial Background: The profession and income of Thai shareholders are taken into account. For example, a shareholder cannot be a low-income individual such as a cleaner from the law firm setting up the company14. No Nominee Arrangements: Any arrangement where Thai shareholders are not genuine investors or do not have the financial capacity to hold their shares will result in the rejection of the land purchase application14. Summary Table: Key Financial Requirements Requirement Details Proof of Income/Salary Must be provided by each Thai shareholder Source of Funds Must be verifiable and not traceable back to the foreign party Professional Background Must be credible and consistent with the shareholder’s financial capacity No Nominee Shareholders Strictly prohibited; Thai shareholders must be genuine investors Additional Notes If the company is BOI-promoted and meets specific criteria (such as a minimum paid-up capital of 50 million baht), different rules may apply, but these are not relevant to the standard land acquisition company structure described above235. The authorities’ scrutiny has intensified, and any suspicion of nominee arrangements can result in rejection of the land purchase application14. In summary, Thai shareholders in a land acquisition company must provide clear evidence of their financial capacity to invest, and their funds must not originate from or be controlled by foreigners. The use of nominee shareholders is illegal and will result in the rejection of the land purchase.
