  1. Must be about all those "aliens" in Thailand, who missed their spaceships to the outer world...
  2. Wonder how many vaccines will be thrown out due to being expired, thanks to overboarding bureaucracy or wrong handling...
  3. Really? So why did some members report here that they went already? And why did some hospitals offer vaccinations on Aug. 11 and 13?
  4. Would be much more interesting to know how many of the 41,616 expats actually got a jab...
  5. True. I misread that. No quarantine with a negatice PCR test. Meaning, I wouldn't even need to stay there for the whole time. (Just fly in for the first, then second jab, while travelling to other places in between. Of course, I'd need another PCR test then.)
  6. It's very much a possibility: mishandling of vaccines (e.g. lack of cooling), also the efficacy dropping by 6% every 2 months (as reported)... If Covid-19 stays on in Thailand, then after two years people who got vaccinated in early 2021 will be down to minimal efficacy in late 2022...
  7. July 2022: "300,000 Thai government officials have had their fourth shot, while 600,000 foreigners are still waiting for their first..."
  8. Or in Bangkok, but under 60? I'm just waiting for the TAT or another entity to invite me to 'travel in Thailand', so that I can tell them: "Sorry, but I 'cannot get vaccinated', so why should I take the risk of travelling around in Thailand?"
  9. Not at all. I see why "heavier" people have a higher health risk. But why do people have to wait for their 60th birthday to get vaccinated?
  10. So if you're "over 100kg" you're in? Perhaps I should eat even more than I'm already doing, staying at home all day. Can't be hard to add an extra 16kg...
  11. Hard to find info on ASQ hotels there. Also, would one be "locked up" at the hotel there, or could one enjoy the beach or surroundings?
  12. Palau Commercial Passenger Entry Policy – Effective June 17, 2021 MHHS Directive 27-21 – COVID Isolation Quarantine Measures Pandemic Certified Accommodations for Visitors and Essential Workers Effective Immediately, a commercial airline traveler needs only to present required documentation to the airline/airline representative for entry into the Republic of Palau. Pursuant to Republic of Palau Rules and Regulations for Isolation & Quarantine of Contagious Diseases and current Ministry of Health (MOH) Directives regarding COVID-19 measures, all international travelers entering the Republic of Palau are subject to the entry requirements listed below. All travelers must provide valid proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, with final dose received at least 14 days prior to arrival in Palau. Vaccine record must clearly show date(s) and number of dose(s) received as well as vaccine brand that is either US FDA or WHO approved or authorized for COVID-19 (...)
  13. Just out of curiosity, at what costs are we looking here; I mean not the jabs, but how much doe for 5-6 weeks hotel in Guam plus the flight from Bangkok?
  14. Excellent. I just heard about this. I will need to be vaccinated if borders open again next year, and as my destination is Australia, this would be a great 'Plan B' if the Thais can't/won't give/sell a vaccine to me.
  15. Thais are always jealous... Someone suggested that I went to a hospital and paid to get vaccinated, to which I replied that I'd love to, if vaccines were available that way. I mean, rather than getting it for free in mid 2022, I'd pay some money now. It's bad enough that one has to be worried to pick up this dreadful disease, but having other difficulties in the future, due to not being able to get any jabs in this part of the world, makes you rethink living in such a country.
  16. Seems that few 'youngsters' (under 60) have been invited so far. But you're right, not only are the jabs 'outdated' (i.e. not very effective against the Delta/Omega variants) once we get them, but anecdotally the efficacy of the antibodies also declines by 6% every two months...
  17. I'm sure the watches were loaned to him by wealthy friends, and he has licenses for all his guns...
  18. Funny, just yesterday read about a similar disease among chipmunks in the U.S. As for me, I never worried about HIV, but this latest coronavirus, possibly even enhanced in a lab (who knows?), being carried by wind, affecting lungs and the whole body long-time is scary... Hope, I can get vaccinated in 2029 when I turn 60.
  19. Also, what did he, allegedly, con her out of? It is mentioned that he had 'a nice car and 200,000 baht', but nothing about anything she lost, except the word 'everything', which could very well be a few coffee mugs...
