  1. This topic is about a foreigner seen to be breaking laws of decency and other laws and no amount of comparison to what some Thais might occasionally do or not is an excuse for his actions. That Thai social media have picked up on the issue is not surprising in these days of instant cyber sharing and many instances of offensive behaviour regarding Thais only are a daily social media issue but most foreigners do not see those.

In other words, there is no hypocrisy or singling out in this.

By all means have an opinion on the news article but from here on in posts will be removed (as some have) when Thai bashing, Pattaya bashing and crude remarks etc are seen.

  2. Please ensure that discussion of illegal activity is kept off the forum. By all means discuss legal acquisition of e-books, however. These forum rules apply

    3) You will not post about activities or links to websites containing such material that are illegal in Thailand. This includes but is not limited to: gambling, betting, pornography, illegal drugs, fake goods/clothing, file sharing of pirated material, pyramid schemes, etc. Discussion of the above is permitted only as news items, but never as a "how to" topic.

    4) You will not not discuss methods of bypassing blocking of websites, or circumventing any censorship of the internet or other communications by lawful authorities.

  3. If we are basing things purely on mathematics, then please deduct the resale price from any car vs. taxi argument.

I have done 70,000kms in my car and if I costed that at per kilometre costs via any taxi service then even without the resale value of the car I would be way ahead.

Add any value of passenger/goods transport and pleasure derived then I would opt for a car any time.

I am aware of the fuel costs and maintenance to add back in but I still feel I am ahead.

  4. Seems many here live right in Pattaya itself and are happy not to have a car.

    Their choice.

And my choice is to have one and live outside of Pattaya city.

Don't see any point in arguing who is right or wrong when neither is either right or wrong.
