We believe financial markets are keen to know if the central bank will offer additional stimulus tools in 2021.
Just yesterday I listened in the news that someone said ' the financial markets have decoupled from reality '
The financial markets , ( stock exchange ) , play a game that is based on greed and fear , more than on real data . They try to anticipate future develpments , but many times only react to rumors that are spread by manipulators . It is a ' house of cards ' ready to collapse anytime ...

No clinical parameters were significantly associated with differences in genotype.
It goes on to say, "Similar to China, the incidence of COVID-19 in Thailand decreased dramatically when the Thai government prohibited social gatherings after the first wave of the rapid spread of SARS-CoV-2."
So, it looks like Thailand did not benefit from a less contagious version of the virus and that its effective control of the epidemic was due to effective public health measure.
May be you read before you write ...?
The mutated G strain which is prevalent in the United States and Europe, is more contagious than the S strain, said Dr. Yong Poovorawan, medical professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. "Thailand identified the S strain when COVID-19 pandemic first started in the country, however the doctors have now discovered a more dangerous strain amongst Thai returnees. They are the mutated G strain which still is prevalent in the United States and Europe."
...that should Thailand experience a second wave of infections, the G strain virus, or G614, will be dominant, because it is about 10 times more contagious than the S strain originally identified in Asia."
Not the right time to open the borders .

I think that a good part of Thailand's ' success ' in the fight against Covid is due to the fact that the strain of the virus that was , and probably still is , present here is much less contagious than the strain present in Europe and the Americas . The humid climate in Thailand might have helped a lot as well ...

" Several SARS-CoV-2 gene mutations have been reported. In the current study associations between SARS-CoV-2 gene variation and exposure history during the first wave of the outbreak in Thailand between January and May 2020 were investigated. '
" The phylogenetics of the 40 samples were clustered into L, GH, GR, O and T types. T types were predominant in Bangkok during the first local outbreak centered at a boxing stadium and entertainment venues in March 2020. Imported cases were infected with various types, including L, GH, GR and O. In southern Thailand introductions of different genotypes were identified at different times."

"BANGKOK, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's top virologist on Monday warned that the COVID-19 mutated G strain, found amongst Thai returnees from abroad, is highly contagious .
Yong, who is part of the COVID-19 leading team under the Ministry of Health, said that should Thailand experience a second wave of infections, the G strain virus, or G614, will be dominant, because it is about 10 times more contagious than the S strain originally identified in Asia."
The conclusion is , that Thailand was just lucky , but did some right steps to prevent the spread of the virus at the right time , too .
It would be stupid to risk this success now by opening the borders to welcome foreign tourists now .

There is simply too much uncertainty to be able to make such statements now . It is only speculation based on ' wishful thinking ' .

There are always at least two possibilities about the further development , it could end , or not . A vaccine that provides lasting immunity could be found , or not ...

Some people will not take any vaccine , diluting it's potential effectiveness ...

YES, You are right, for a far as you went. Financial spikes upwards or down are like the weather, always shifting. The fiat currencies of the world have expanded well beyond what the supply of minerals, and ability of soil or oceans to supply. Worse, the population has continued growing. When more cash chases similar or diminishing materials, the prices go up (inflation.)
That is prelude, it is fiscal hocus-pocus. The world's biosphere, the resiliency of life is at stake. Some of the impacts are hitting now in the form of droughts, floods and storms that are more frequent and or more intense due to the excess warming - due to the insulation imbalance shifting the long term climate.
An analysis done by MIT published a book in 1972, "Limits to Growth." It's authors used models to generate several possible situations for our global society, depending upon what policies and behaviors humans would take. A review of that book in 2014 shows a prescient resemblance between the "Business as Usual" scenario and what indeed unfolded.
Here is a graphic comparison from that review:
Economists and politicians certainly did not like that analysis in 1972; they attacked it then and media joined in discrediting the report. Still, looking at that track record, and especially the warnings of trajectories heading south THIS DECADE, the patterns in the streets was predictable. So too the behavior of those who are surrounded by wealth and resources to track commodities, politics.
ADD onto the above generalities as known in 1972, the complications of climate change on food supply as summarized below.
I'm glad I saw what I did in my lifetime. The generation born this century though, my step-children and grandchildren here in Thailand, they will live and die by the consequences of the world we are leaving to them. For their sake, I'm hoping they learn the farming skills my wife learned from her dad. Call it Permaculture, call it family garden resiliency as promoted by King Bhumibol Adulyadej, it is what I see as the best localized chance for surviving the next few decades.Excellent post .
Some still do not realize that eternal growth is just not possible . The resources are limited as is the time granted to humans to resolve the urgent problems this planet faces now .
The ' values ' of the current capitalistic system lead straight to greed and that leads to the destruction of the environment that people need to survive . ( Clean air and drinkable water , intact and life producing ecosystems that will enable our species to live a life worth living it )
It is the powerful lobby of successful ' businesses ' around the world that does not want change that out of fear that they might lose their privileged position in life . That is what they care about , about the state the planet is in thanks to the never ending pollution and production of toxic non degradable waste , is not of their concern .
The fault is in the system and the values it teaches .

Need to realize that Thailand is geographically . economically , socially , much closer to China than to any western country ...
Some people like to see Thailand as if it would be a country that is part of the ' western commonwealth ' , but it is not .
14% of the thai population have an ethnic chinese background .
It is part of south east asia , and Thais generally prefer to do business with people of similar cultural background .
https://www.thethailandlife.com/origin-thai-people
... we know that the majority of Thai-Chinese established themselves in Thailand over three waves of migration, dating back to the 13th Century ...

Principally a good idea as it will cause less pollution than travel by plane .

16 hours ago, Brunolem said:All the countries are in the same (sinking) boat, and Thailand is not among the worst.
Many of them, starting with the US, Japan and EU countries, could only dream to have a national debt at 60% of GDP, since they are all at or above 100%.
Thailand is not the only country heavily reliant on tourism...check Spain, Italy or France, for example.
The fact is that it has been already 6 months since tourism stopped, and we have yet to see any sign of economic meltdown, or population uprising (save for the students, yet for very different reasons).
It would seem that a large part of those who lost their jobs have reintegrated their families and villages without too much trouble.
One of the things that makes Thailand more resilient than most of the Western countries is that it is not a socialist nanny state, with hordes of citizens clamoring for constant handouts.
An unemployed citizen here weighs economically far less than in the West.
So as economists use to say, these days Thailand probably ranks among the less dirty shirts...
Excellent post .
Even with augmenting debt , Thailand is still far better off than a lot of western countries .
I do not see Covid disappear completely anytime soon , I do not see that mass tourism same it once was , will ever return to Thailand .
It might become a destination for the wealthy travelers only , become more expensive and exclusive for foreigners ...
I think that is what the government wants as well .

Are accurate , ok , but in what context ? Is that part of the presidential ' fake news ' campaign ?

Now he has just recovered from the virus himself , he is holding campaign rallies again ... hope he is no ' presidential superspreader ' himself .

'Difficult winter ahead': London heads for stricter lockdown
in World News
Posted
Exponential growth about everywhere in Europe , politicians who failed in imposing the right measures at the right time ( herd immunity BS in the UK ) .
This time the different strains of the virus seem to become even more contagious and aggressive , opposite to what asome erxperts predicted .
It is not 5 to 12 anymore , it is 12 o'clock already .
Only total lockdown could limit the spread now , but would ruin the economy , so won't happen ...
May be the ' 5 minute test ' from Oxford University could help to limit the spread , but so far nobody knows about it's accuracy and availability ...
Hard times are coming , better to prepare for this ...
