Unfortunately, Pattaya is a victim of it's own success. While that seems contradictory, there are contradictory social forces in this world, and one of them is bad international press. It is success that creates resentments and vulnerability. Writers and newscasters don't particularly care about Thailand, they care about selling newspapers. It was said that the famous newspaper mogul, Hearst, started the Spanish American War, simply by writing articles. It was also shoddy reporting that created public outcry that broke up Standard Oil. Thailand has done a poor job in public relations for Pattaya, and while it's long range vision as a family resort seems reasonable, the impact of a sudden change of policy has created a void in business efforts; as a result, other areas are relatively stronger. Yet the strengths of Pattaya remain intact. The government finds it necessary to document visitors to an extreme extent, monitor alcohol consumption in the public areas and in fact, is making the business environment very difficult. One thing they could do which would help the general economy is to limit building until the real estate market regains it's footing. Secondly, they could lighten up on alcohol issues to the extent that, if a person is not displaying signs of irresponsibility on the road, they are allowed to go their own way. This is what other countries do. I know Thailand has a terrible record for safety on the road, but this is basically a problem of it's own citizens, not visitors. Russians are a different matter, but the West has drunk driving laws as well, yet they do not pull everyone over for DD tests.

Sounds like you're chanelling Yogi Berra who once said, "No one goes there nowadays, it’s too crowded. "

Only because Mayweather let it go on for that long.

Spot on....first 3 rounds, May-man showcased defensive boxing (head fakes, shoulder rolls etc).  Next 3 rds, he threw a few punches and saw McG had no snap, soooooo he waded in unabated from 6 on and was actually quite merciful in not taking McG's head off!  Note, at end of fight May-man did not a have a single mark on his face!

    6000 for a DECENT condo?

You must be joking, an yes a big bottle of beer can be had for 80 Baht, but not everyone fancies drinking at the concrete tables outside 7/11.

But when I looked at your previous post I understood already that your not talking out of your mouth.

Tables?  Chairs?  Sounds real delux.....thought I would have to share a curb with a soi dog!

The crowd got a good show no one came out of that embarressed and I'd say the braver choice was the MMA man going into the unknown so to speak. A rematch with correct conditioning with a 6 month notice and I doubt money would take a chance against this lad again. Mcgregor I'm pretty certain would jump straight in. Money talks though so never say never when it comes to money weather.

Interesting...combined with Nausea's analysis.....get McG a condtioning coach.....a couple of preliminary bouts, and a proper boxing coach like Freddie Roach (which he has never used) and he might put up a better fight....however, by that time MayW could be 43 or 44 years old!

He still managed 9.5 rounds with the best pound for pound boxer of the last 20yrs !! Not too shabby but I'm sure you could have done better :shock1:

Wasn't impressed by his conditioning either....he was almost falling over from fatigue after 6 rounds....needs a fitness coach as well!  He should try skipping for a couple of hours per day.

"Boo-Hoo"...Winers whinging about wine....think they're getting a fine Cabernet for B299 and don't bother to look closely and read the back label.

7-11 should be so ashamed for taking advantage of these poor illiterates.

Lucky it's not France and Italy where they dump ox blood into Algerian wine and don't even write it in small print.

Didnt you mean whingers whining about wine?
