OA visa vs O visa (retirement)
DrJack54 replied to Lorry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Agree it is a good point. However when you read the OP he is very aware of options. Seems switched on. My guess is income method not an option. The non O with extensions is a no brainer. That would require the 800k in bank but no insurance. -
Short multiple Entry requirement question
DrJack54 replied to Chris KL's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My first post stated reply to what to write on application. Just in case you missed it.... "Genuine reason = tourist purposes" That is what he ticks. Stick to the OP. Give advice or nothing. -
Short multiple Entry requirement question

Do you know what METV stands for?.... Multi Entry Tourist Visa. The reason for wanting this visa is for tourism purposes. -
Short multiple Entry requirement question
DrJack54 replied to Chris KL's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
BTW...I did not give the laugh emoji. Clearly you know very little in the topics in this forum. For a METV the reason for application can be as simple as tourism. -
At CW they will in the main require a TM47 receipt. Have basic photocopies pp just in case. Without tm47 not possible. The fee is 200 baht. Sent via EMS 1-2 weeks. Bit off topic as the OP asks about bike purchase. If obtaining certificate of residence for car and bike do not ticket both boxes on form that was posted earlier. Transport office will accept photocopy of certificate. If you tick car and bike they charge 400b at CW

No stamp in passport
DrJack54 replied to goldenbrwn1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
First reply was from me. Here it is. "You must have received a stamp. Visa exempt currently would give you a stamp with 45 day permission of stay" Here is my second post..... "Make sure you look at every page to make sure it was io error. Have never read of that happening. Incorrect date sure. That happens. No entry stamp. That would be a first." As a result the OP checked his pp thoroughly and guess what.. Found the stamp. My reply with stamp pic was reply to another poster. What helpful info did you provide in the thread. -
TM30 update required?
DrJack54 replied to mayawame's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good post. This is the bit some are missing. Some expats maintain continuous continuity of extensions. Provided they do not change their address (usual residence) No TM30 is required for returning to that residence from trips to other provinces or trips out of Thailand. Obviously they would need a reentry permit to keep the extension valid. Sadly some immigration offices are still waiting for the pigeon carrier to deliver the bulletin. -
OP, you are applying for a 30 day extension. Has your condo made a TM30. If so obtain a screenshot of it. Nonthaburi immigration may want a copy.

TM30 update required?
DrJack54 replied to mayawame's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
CM appears to be one of the immigration offices that do not follow the new (June 2020) TM30 requirements. -
Try DIY Forum. Yes it works.

Where to apply for retirement visa.
DrJack54 replied to killblues's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
CW does follow the rules. Jomtien has a crackpot io who does not. You will need 800k in Thai bank account on day of application for non O retirement. You will also need to show funds came from abroad. -
Yes so you used Darren Key Visa fine... An annual extension at Maneerat Soi post office is 12,500baht. More expensive elsewhere eg Bangkok. You mentioned 25k. That would be for obtaining a non O along with 12 month extension.. Perhaps also require opening bank account so perhaps 30k + for Big Mac. Do you understand? Rhetorical question.

Passport needed for travel around Thailand?
DrJack54 replied to ChomDo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yippi.....everyone has a Pink ID card. I don't and been here 10 years. Many others I would suggest same. You have another contribution. -
Read some of your other threads. Now that you outline age and history you seriously are rolling the dice. Why try reenter visa exempt via air Surely you have border bounce by land option since it's 2 per calendar year. Even to bounce via air you would choose country with land option eg Laos vs Vietnam. Mid 20,s age asian if I was immigration officer I would refuse you entry with your history.

Passport needed for travel around Thailand?
DrJack54 replied to ChomDo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Depends on the situation. Private hospitals would have concerns. Not necessarily on first admission but certainly for ongoing treatment. Are you new to Thailand? That was just one example I gave for need of pp. In any event you are on ignore. -

Just so you understand... Post means post . Thread means thread. I stated the following..... "My vote for most ridiculous thread in ages"... You understand the difference I hope.
