  1. He sounds like a cross-bred Thaksin and Boss !!
  2. I've had similar situations in the past. Most resolved by following the steps below. ING Australia cannot send SMS internationally !?! So I had to leave them. Westpac are ok for the time being anyway. Steps I take (Android): 1. Ensure that 'Carrier Services' app is updated 2. Turn off phone 3. Remove SIM, give it a wipe (preferably with alcohol) 4. Replace SIM and reboot 5. Go into Settings, Mobile Networks, Search Available Networks and then select one to Register the SIM (preferably a 4G network but you may have to select 3G if you see the message "Unable to connect to network" 6. Try to receive the OTP again. Good luck
  3. Your heart simply stops beating. I think everybody is looking into this too deep !!
  4. Just a couple of days after WHO declared Covid as history ????
  5. The font of all Thailand visa knowledge ???? RIP Ubonjoe
  6. I've watched Grab become so expensive to almost unaffordable/not worth it status. Not only the food but travel too. Apparently restaurants have to give 20-40% of the total sales price to Grab as commission. Food Now and Food Panda are my go to's at the moment.
  7. I heard that an expat was found dead in an apartment in Soi 6 Moon Muang earlier in the week. Unsure who it was, but a possible contender. The police would have this information by now anyway. RIP Soi 6 Expat.
  8. Obviously the photos were NOT taken between 3pm-7pm when the traffic backs up from Maya Mall into Mueang !!
  9. I'll happily entertain the richest one $$$ !!
  10. It keeps the medical industry alive with all the skin and internal infections!
  11. Marajuana?
  12. Vapours, shaving gel/razors, cheese, deodorant and electric toothbrush with replacement heads.
  13. Phuket bars are still open until 3am, the gogo bars later and I don't know about nightclubs. You need a GrabBoat to get into Bangla Road though!
  14. Go for one of the offers under the Unlimited tab. Last month I got 30 days unlimited at max speed for only 150thb (special offer). This month I took the 1mbps speed option for unlimited data for 375thb (350 plus vat) I can still stream YouTube and send video messages without the ring of death ????????

  16. Wow, I'm delighted and this visa will definitely be extremely useful. I wanted a METV whilst I await for my Vietnam work permit to be approved....they have been asking for more and more information each time they assess my application....been dragging since mid-July. BritTim, I did provide my savings account which does have £30k in it for the past 3 months.....sounds like this is the move to make!
  17. Go to the hospital. I had an insect bite that became infected at end of July. I took two lots of different antibiotics for 12 days. It just got worse everyday. On day 12 I had emergency surgery costing 60,000 THB and now I'm left with a crator wound 4mm deep and 200mm diameter! The wound needs cleaning and redressing every 3 days for at least 3 months. Go to the hospital today!!
  18. I'm confused because the approval email states only 90 days validity but also mentions Non-O type. Please see attached
  19. Hi all, As the title says, I applied for what I thought would be a long stay Multiple Entry Tourist Visa online at the Royal Thai Embassy (in London I presume) costing 150 GBP. Within 24 hours I received notification of approval and when I checked, I had been granted a 90 days Non-O multiple entry tourist visa commencing the day I enter Thailand. Are METV still being issued? Did they issue this type of visa because I just turned 50 years young and that they assume that I would be applying for a Retirement extension of stay? If METV are available, how likely am I to have it replaced given I leave UK for Thailand next week and only have 1.5 days in London to visit the Embassy if required?
  20. Reminds me of the old days when we used to stick "Kick Me" notes onto the backs of our friends at school ????
  21. 6,000 signatures out of the 70 million population.....I reckon this move is gaining momentum ????
  22. Chiang Mai to Bangkok is a ridiculous 18 hours unless it breaks down. Similar to the Rajastan 'Express' in India which takes 18-24 hours from Delhi to Mumbai. Just fly ✈
  23. There is even more demand to cut down trees now....so that they can plant Mary Jane trees instead ???? Do they keep the paperwork for the same 7 years as most countries do? PS. I must already have quite a few boxes of paperwork stored somewhere....I even wonder if they know where to look to find my previous information !?!
