GM left the Thai auto market several years ago...I doubt they will ever return.
GM is only a shareholder of the Chinese company, a Chinese company will certainly have aims on Southeast Asia after the great success in China.

Is it unique? Nope. Look at the modern history of states in the Middle East that became fabulously wealthy very quickly due to oil and then lost all moral bearings: can anyone state where the 9-11 terrorists came from? Or, do some research on lottery winners around the planet; the data shows that huge wealth, acquired quickly, often as not leads to horrible consequences.Simply put, the people of Koh Tao got too much money too fast, and in a land where having money is King, they accumulated too much power to suffer any consequences of their actions. And, we all know the phrase ' power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely'.If ever there was a place that needed outside intervention for its own good, it is Koh Tao. Sadly, I don't think it'll occur and we will be reading about 'unexplained events, accidents, and... er... ahem... odd coincidences' for many years to come. These deaths are a cry for help from a society that can't handle itself, but no one will listen.Sad. Truly sad. For every one.And if we go back down to earth, a serial killer on the island wouldn't be a more logical explanation?

What will the Thai government do when some billionaires (in USD or EURO terms) buy up lots of land, and the Thais have to rent land in Thailand from foreigners or become subservient to foreigners?
Or more realistically in renminbi

Exclude Chinese buyers as they ruin the market. If you are from Australia you should know all about this.
You're wrong it's the Chinese who are the main plate of this new proposal

There are certain places that have a bad influence on people already predisposed to crime this is my impression, whatever the cause can be many killed ghosts screaming for revenge, and this island is full.
And madness I'm going to believe in ghosts now.....

To get to know a country you don't have to stop only in the tourist places that are all international without a soul, I traveled all over the country by car, a rather depressing country inside only landscapes bare of vegetation and very insecure towards the east and I think it was a good experience to never return.
BTW At a certain point in the trip, in the middle of nowhere, we wanted to buy a carpet and the seller introduced me to his daughter as my future second wife, I preferred to give up the carpet and his generous offer, all the travel I never ask for a carpet.....

to hear that and respond?
If an electrical problem it will be easy to determine, something must have shorted
and breakers must have been tripped.
Lets just wait and see what further happens?
Were they the only guests there?
Need to look at the son?Do they have more children?
How long have they stayed there? When was the last time other people have used the pool?
It could be an accident, lets just wait and see.
In my experience if they had the same genius in the Hotel as the electricity that had made the installation of my swimming pool with an independent electric line of the house forgetting to apply a CCTV it is possible and in any case you are right and easy to see the cause after, and surely the people who have removed them from the pool will have seen fit to turn off the power before entering the pool.
However, when there are big capital and happy heirs, everything looks very suspicious.

44 minutes ago, Captain Monday said:The vaccines are not experimental they are approved for emergency use, then approved.
These are just words anyway, they are all remarkably safe and effective. Other than legitimate medical exclusions there is no reason to not get vaccinated other than selfishness and ignorance.
I think you haven't understood the term emergency use yet, but if you want to get the vaccine go ahead

I get why the regime would want to withhold this information, after all they treat the people like buffalo. But better to identify the vaccine, and the rarity of this response, than hide it.
You have no right to know because you receive an experimental vaccine so only medical researchers have the right to inform in a couple of years

Early polls indicate that Europeans will go to Southern Europe for holidays while half of the population will take holidays in their own country. Asia is no longer on the agenda.

The vaccinated will travel and they won't care about local covid outbreaks because they've been vaccinated already.
What they will care about is getting caught up in a local lockdown type situation - that's why they won't come.
Video news clips showing people being arrested in their garden while having lunch with a couple of friends really don't help them. Nobody will come until the threat of restrictions is lifted.
There's also something else that the Thais can't control, if there is any requirement for quarantine or isolation when returning to a tourists home country then this will also prevent people from coming.
In short : nobody's coming.

Nine countries have meanwhile banned the use of the AZ vaccine but this does not seem to disturb anyone in Asia or even Thailand.

The scam is: it's not going to happen
imo it sounds more like a pathetic attempt to create a buzz
in the hope to attract again some attention on phuket from
the international travelers
doing that with a fake news + false hopes to lure few tourists seems to be their choice
It is possible, but I think he is the minister of tourism under pressure from the influential owners of the tourism infrastructure, so why not copy what the Chinese of Thailand did two years ago with $ 1 night by indirectly returning a lot of money from tourists. Otherwise the government that has no money even to buy vaccines, for which it is now asking the governors of the provinces if they have money to buy vaccines.
The government obtained a loan of 250 billion dollars only under certain strict conditions will it never be able to accept this proposal from its minister Pipa.

I wonder why it reminds me of the trips of the Chinese for $ 1 accused of scams, where the scam is ?
