  1. How long after insurance expiry will it be removed?
  2. Thank you for your replies. Yes. correct, I plan to keep 800k all year round in the bank. Now something isn't clear to me here: When I apply for my 2nd extension in more than a year, I will need to show that I adhered to the 800k for 3 months in the bank rule. So that would mean, I then need to still provide a 12 months statement from my Bangkok Bank account (to show that I have 800k after the 1st extension - so I don't get around this annoying 1 week wait to get 12 months statement from Bangkok Bank) plus a 12 months statement from my new bank, since you advised me to transfer 400k (why not the full 800k?) after 3 months in from my 1st extension.
  3. That's exactly the problem. I do not have a copy or the actual green book. So that would mean, I cannot get the sticker to pass a police check point, correct!?
  4. Hello, I have a Non-O based on retirement with 800k in bank. I wish to change banks away from Bangkok Bank, because their 1 week wait to get a 12 month statement is annoying for me. My Non-O was issued in Chiang Mai in September, and I plan to apply for my extension a few weeks early in November. What do I need to consider when changing banks now, or would there be a better reason to change banks and transfer the 800k after I got my first extension? Thanks for your help.
  5. Do I need to bring anything else except the fee and the rolled up proof of insurance?
  6. Hello, a friend left me a motorcycle while away on a trip and said I can use it, if I want. Now the absence has become more extended and the insurance ran out by the end of August. Since I would like to use the motorscooter once in a while, I wonder if I can go to an insurance company in Chiang Mai with the rolled up proof of insurance affixed to the license plate of the bike and just pay for an insurance renewal, which I think should be around 300 THB and get a new proof of insurance with the huge year printed on it, so that I will be fine again. Can I do it? Any pitfalls to watch out for?
  7. Yes - calls AND SMS http://www.dtac.co.th/en/info/dtac-call.html And you don't need to keep the SIM card in the phone this way.
  8. Since the whole TM6 thing when entering Thailand has been abandoned a few weeks ago, do we need to have new TM87 forms when applying for a Non-O, or is it acceptable to immigration to use the old forms and simply leave the section pertaining to TM6 empty?
  9. Doesn't matter
  10. How will you get to the train station from BKK - metro or taxi? Have you checked the exact prices? How fast is the shipping? Would you do it the other way around too? BTW Excess baggage on Thai Airways BKK-CNX is 50 THB/kg Online and 60 THB/kg at the airport. https://www.thaiairways.com/en_TH/travel_information/baggage.page?section=3 https://www.thaiairways.com/en_TH/before_you_fly/additional_services/excess_baggage.page? So it seems you can do your 26 kg for 1300 THB if you prepurchase online at least 12 hours before the flight.
  11. @Dean1953 I don't really understand what you are trying to say.
  12. Would it be possible to send a 25 or 30 kg suitcase TO this post office and then pick it up before flying out?
  13. Correction: will apply for a non-O within a few days after arrival.
  14. I am going to Thailand in August and I have a return ticket for next year April. I am coming in as Visa exempt and will apply for a non-OA within a few days after arrival. Is my return ticket sufficient, or does it need to be a return ticket within 30 days after arrival?
  15. Then they probably also added credit to your balance. You can extend by topping up too. So you have a choice: topping up (which is beneficial when you actually use your credit) or the *113* method, which is beneficial to you when you don't use your card much.
  16. I copied from Bruno, hehehe. Actually it's 113 - good that you noticed.
  17. Bruno is correct: 1.) Make sure you have money on your SIM card and check your validity by calling *101*9# - you will receive an SMS or notification with the information 2.) Now please calculate days from today to validity expiration: f.e. Validity until 20 Oct 2022 means 85 days from today. 3.) Now you subtract 85 from 360 which gives you 275 days. That's the maximum you can extend your validity, since maximum validity is 360 (or 365? - not sure) days from today. 4.) You can extend 180 or 90 or 30 days. So figure out what you need. In this example you can use 180 days plus 90 days. 5.) Call *103*180# for 180 days additional validity 6.) Then you can call *103*90# for another 90 days validity extension. 7.) If you now call *101*9# again, it should show you validity just a few days short of 1 year in this example. For other people that are looking for this info on a different carrier: This procedure (with different numbers - see earlier in this thread) can also be used for True, but not for AIS. For AIS (as for other carriers) you need to do recharges of at least 10 baht to extend for 30 days per recharge. The recharge procedure should also be used if you cannot enter the numbers from overseas, because roaming hasn't been activated by your carrier. I believe these procedures do NOT work on a tourist SIM which have been bought f.e. at the airport.
  18. Thank you very much for your link https://www.bangkokair.com/through-check-in - it explains a lot: According to this information from Bangkok Airways I can check my luggage through (thanks for reminding me to check that they really do it at check in) and I will connect to domestic in the transfer area at BKK without going through immigration at Suvarnabhumi and go through customs and immigration at CNX. Sounds great. Is custom / immigration as they are in BKK or are they more easy going or more strict at CNX?
  19. Hello, I booked a flight at the end of August from Vienna to Chiang Mai on one ticket from Austrian Airlines. Flight numbers are OS for Austrian Airlines to BKK, and PG for Bangkok Airways from BKK to CNX. Layover 2hrs 35 min. Will my luggage be checked through from Vienna to Chiang Mai and will I be able to go through immigration and customs in Chiang Mai instead of Bangkok? Thanks for your help.
  20. Chiang Mai - Kad Suan Kaew Branch - 4th quarter 2021: TWELVE MONTH OFFICIAL STATEMENT took 1 week. I asked why - they said 12 month statements can only be issued from Bangkok main office. Local offices can do 6(?) months statement only.
