  1. THREAD: There’s been some developments in the controversy of @Pita_MFP’s shares in a dormant media company, the subject of numerous complaints seeking his disqualification as MP and preventing him to became PM. These revelations could turn things in his favor. Part 1 to 9 continued here: https://twitter.com/SaksithCNA/status/1668137539277058048
  2. (1/3) Move Forward will hold a press conference on ITV media stocks held by its PM candidate Pita today at 10am. The move came after TV3 on Sun released a voice clip showing a major inconsistency in the company’s annual shareholder's meeting on April 26. Correction: video clip, not voice clip (2/3) At ITV’s annual shareholder's meeting on April 26, the written report quoted a top management saying ITV is still operating as a mass media organisation while the voice record clip said that they are "inactive" due to ongoing legal issues (3/3) The EC is considering whether Pita knowingly applied to compete as MP candidate knowingly that he's not qualified due to his holding of ITV shares. If found guilty by the court, Pita could be sent to prison for 10 yrs & have his voting rights suspended for 20 yrs. https://twitter.com/KhaosodEnglish/status/1668079783954223104
  3. And like all banks, he would have been asked to produce his passport or ID card.
  4. A farce, a charade, a travesty of justice, ludicrous, shambolic, and absurd – these are some of the words described the reactions of some Thais and foreigners upon learning that the Election Commission on Friday has consider to take up the case on whether Move Forward Party PM candidate Pita Limjaroenrat has violated Article 151 of the election laws by holding ITV media shares. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/opinion/2023/06/11/opinion-nine-years-after-2014-coup-the-charade-continues-with-pita-the-new-target/

  6. This was yesterday's report by ThaiPBS: The EC also said, however, that there are factual and behavioural details in the complaints providing sufficient evidence to initiate a probe to determine whether Pita was fully aware that he was unqualified to contest the election when he registered his candidacy, which would constitute a violation of Sections 42 (3) and 154 of the MP Election Act. Today's report by ThaiPBS: The EC, instead, decided to initiate its own probe, in accordance with Section 151 of the MP Election Act, as they think it is “evident” that Pita registered his party-list candidacy while allegedly knowing that he was not qualified to contest the poll.
  7. Why wasn't this post not included in the post already running?
  8. I think most will remember this company: In Thailand, companies and people in positions of power often use libel suits to intimidate and punish activists and critics. The Thai activist, Sutharee Wannasiri, knew the poultry company had violated labor laws. She went on Twitter in 2017 to share a video containing an interview with an employee who said he had to work day and night with no day off. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/09/world/asia/thailand-defamation-lawsuits.html?smid=tw-share

  17. What Pita stated on the 06 June: “On March 16, 2007, the court assigned me the administrator of my father’s estate, with the ITV shares no longer having any economic value. In 2014, the ITV shares were delisted from the Stock Exchange of Thailand, so they can no longer be traded on the stock exchange. Since becoming a Member of Parliament, I have disclosed my assets and liabilities to the National Anti-Corruption Commission and have been extremely transparent in this matter. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2023/06/06/pita-fights-against-itvs-revival-already-transferred-shares/
