  1. Your pension was due today. Banks were closed yesterday therefore your payment will be a day late. You will almost certainly receive the payment tomorrow morning.
  2. FRANCESCA REGALADO, Nikkei staff writerJuly 12, 2022 13:22 JST BANGKOK -- Thailand enters a five-day weekend on Wednesday with doctors warning that a COVID surge and undercounted cases are belying the government's ambitious reopening scheme. https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Coronavirus/Thailand-s-misleading-COVID-numbers-cast-a-shadow-on-reopening
  3. Even if it is being shown on one of the Thai TV channels, I for one wont be watching it. The salary that players receive just for kicking a ball about is absolutely disgusting.
  4. Calls that I don't recognize are not answered. Simple solution and far safer that actually answering a call.
  5. Leading Thai physician urges Public Health Ministry to reveal actual number of new Covid-19 cases, including all asymptomatic and mild cases A Thai physician who specialized in emerging infectious diseases urged the Ministry of Health to reveal the actual number of Covid-19 new cases as the number may have gone far beyond the one currently disclosed to the public, according to him. https://tpnnational.com/2022/07/09/leading-thai-physician-urges-public-health-ministry-to-reveal-actual-number-of-new-covid-19-cases-including-all-asymptomatic-and-mild-cases/
  6. An average of 29,000 cases daily is not the same as actual daily cases. That figure we shall never know unless actual daily cases are reported which includes of course mild symptoms, but for the CCSA to publish these figures is asking too much.
  7. We're only in July not August. Link for the 29,000 cases reported please.
  8. How will this work with foreign tourists who need a hotel would have to book on Agoda or Booking.com? Will the hotel rates be adjusted? Those in country, as pointed out earlier, would only need a Thai name to book. It appears to me that this idiotic plan will be directed to only telephone calls to the hotel.
  9. It was only a matter of time: Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn Hospital is now banning visits to patients in all wards, as a precautionary measure following a new surge in new COVID-19 infections. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/chula-hospital-bans-all-visits-to-ward-patients-as-new-covid-19-cases-surge/
  10. Yet another thread on Wise Transfers. Excellent service. Monies always transferred in seconds.
  11. 12. b) get GBP cash here in Bangkok (how?) I'm surprised you didn't know that there are money exchanges in BKK. As pointed out, Superrich is your answer.
  13. Thai Dep PM and Anutin, who tested positive for #COVID19 today, wrote on Facebook thanking those who wish him a speedy recovery - and posted this photo of a rapid test with a…special result. https://twitter.com/SaksithCNA/status/1541671996085248005

  15. Yes, that's typical of Aseannow, they are always late in reporting news. If a news story is posted by a member with the relevant link and it's not already posted by Aseanow, then let it run
  16. Despite widespread news that the Thai Covid Center may ease the mask mandate tomorrow, Public Health Minister Anutin stated just now he is against this and that it is not the place of the health department to tell people to remove their masks. https://twitter.com/The_PattayaNews

  18. As I don't do visa runs myself, this might be helpful to those considering a quick visa run: A new hotel in Laos and unbelievable cheap. Not as yet on the main booking sites, Booking, Agoda, etc. The most expensive hotel room is approx B1,000 for a night. Translation: Inflation crisis The inflation crisis made Laos cheap. The baht was converted into kip almost twice as much. From 1 baht used to be 300 kip, now 1 baht gets 500 more. But prices in Laos cannot move much. because Lao people have the same salary If you move a lot, you won't be able to sell. benefit people became a traveler Room used to be 700, now 350 Food used to be 80, now 40. Massage used 300 now 160 Washed my hair before 100, now 50. Beer used to be 50 now 25 baht. Who has never had the experience of using cheap money? should come to Laos now PS. The most expensive room in this picture, Thai money is 1000 baht, can sleep 4 people.
  19. Another five children died in road accidents yesterday. When will the Thai government take this problem as seriously as they did with Covid19?
